I have a modded LCD Deck, 2TB NVMe Sabrent Rocket, 1TB Sandisk Extreme. I will not be upgrading to the OLED. I prefer my OG with replaced thermal pads and thermal paste. I also installed a cold plate to the inside of the case to help cool down the deck more. Fans normally dont come on anymore unless i'm deep into a game of Elden Ring (or other heavy games like that). The OLED doesnt support sleep downloading/updating (and that would be the only reason i would want it).
I have a monoblock on my lcd currently, going to be using the v2 soon. I do agree with mods making the fan come on less. I do find it annoying that sleep downloading or screen off at least isn't a thing on either yet.
You make excellent points in this video. Like you said: the Steam deck just works and it’s an accurate statement when compared to Windows. I continue to enjoy my OLED as well. It’s refreshing to see a video comparing the original/LCD and the OLED.
I have the 64gb LCD there’s no reason why I should upgrade I’m always close by a outlet and battery banks the optics really wouldn’t benefit me because I have very poor vision the only thing ima do is REPLACE THE ssd with 1TB and get better joystick caps and I have a REgeek replacement of the back of the device so it stays cool AND MAYBE DUAL BOOT WINDOWS NOT SURE ABOUT THAT tho because it’s only 1 game I need to use windows for and that madden/25 if it’s not surpported
I went with 64GB LCD. OLED is almost twice its price and for the limited use it will get from me it's not worth it. If by chance I did use it more extensively than predicted then I can buy OLED later on and sell the LCD version to cut some losses. Though that difference in Doom 3 gameplay sure is staggering.
That's the biggest advantage over lcd and oled, especially a crappy lcd like the SD lcd. Some people will never notice or care, but like shown in doom 3, I do personally believe that the image on the OLED model is more in line with what developers were going for as opposed to a washed out mess. Lcd is still a great model and even better at the stupid low sell out price they have for the discontinued models I don't think anyone would truly be disappointed with either model

Only video I’ve seen that shows the deck HD against the Oled
Would be cool to see more on that
@HeavyBreathingGamerXD I will do more of a head to head comparison in the future :) doing something silly with my deck right now.
Amazing video my friend
Appreciate that!
Waiting for Steam Deck 2 with my launch LCD model.
Solid choice!

Oh, I forgot to say, I'm upgrading to the BEAST, the Win600.
