Wow you really scored! I just love the spools of thread that you got! I love old sewing notions. Most of singers machine attachments are universal so those are a score.
Your my kind of crafter. I too love going to thrift stores and antique stores. I also have so many notions and jewelry making items. This is what I what I do, sewing, crafting, painting, and jewelry making. Right now I'm in the middle of doing a quilt, flower wreaths, and some cross stitch. I don't know how to do crochet or knit. I would like to learn. It's funny because all my sisters could do it.
As a dressmaker I absolutely love anything to do with old sewing machines and vintage items, thank you for showing your shopping. I must go to the charity shops more here in the UK.
Yes! I love the tools and notions more than I love sewing and I love to sew. Those machines were fantastic. I have several. I see you have a 403a on your shelf. I am an old lady but you and I seem to operate on the same asthetic; I identified with so much of what you said.
After watching this yesterday when I went into my local thrift store today there was a lot of sewing notions and patterns (usually that section is pretty bare) so I picked up some bias tape, metal zips, lace and trim. I love how the cats store like “must kill new trim (piping) RAWR”
Have you tried Sew Green in Ithaca? It was my favorite store when I lived there- it takes i donations of fabric and notions and sells. It's a wonderful store!
Omg you have amazing thrift stores around you! 😍 I can never find deals that good! You did fantastic! That is an outstanding haul! I love all of it but the old singers take the cake!
Just found your channel today, so happy! I am not the only one who loves yarn, crochet, knitting, finding craft thift supplies and old sewing machines! Immediately subscribed! I love the thrill of looking at everything when I get home too lol
The first machine is like one my grandma had ! It was a treadle and my dad put a motor on it . It ran so well a salesman wanted to buy it but she wouldn't sell ! Used to love thrifting for sewing notions etc . Have found some spendy yarn at thrifts recently . My oldest found a D&G handbag in Ithaca ! Great place to shop !
That is a great deal on the notions ! The elastic binding is great for knit garments ! You should get some clearance fabric at HoAnn or Hobby Lobby and practice with those patterns !
Since you are collecting sewing notions have you ever considered making junk journals? I use random buttons, sewing patterns, bias tape and all sorts of things in my junk journals. Since you kind of want to sew but don't do much, you would love making snippet rolls. It's a great excuse to collect. If I can make a suggestion while you are young, every time you bring home a few buttons sort them by size and color and put in separate jars. You could also match up any sets to use. I sorted a ton after I retired and now use them a lot but wish I would have done it while I collected.
I have a similar Singer in that exact case. Found it while clearing out at my parent's house. Took it to a sewing shop. Way too expensive to get it functional. Mine is not electric though.
I own the 1st sewing machine. My is a Singer that was peddle that my Zada had converted to electric for my Baba a seamstress. She was 2nd generation and I am 4th and my kids are 5th....at least to our knowledge.
Would love to watch, but I simply can't stand the "music". It's sort of pulsating in volume, I wish it wasn't there. Don't assume we are bored by listening to you, we haven't heard what you want to say, like you have in the editing.

Okay that buttonholer ALONE is worth the price of the box!!!! Good find!
Thumbs up for the kitties 😺😸❤️👍🏻👍🏻🥰

What a great haul!!! Thanks for sharing. Also loved watching your cats play in the background. They’re adorable 😻😻😻
Thank you! I didn't realize at the time they were on camera for most of it. They certainly love all that piping filling!
Nothing like watching a bunch of You tube videos to make want to sew. Nice haul. Thanks for sharing.

That's a cool idea, I've never heard of that. Thank you!
If you get someone into junk journaling then their subsequent fall into the abyss of collecting everything under the sun belongs to you!😭😭😭😆😆😂😂😂🤪🤪
@@the_copycat_stitch don’t Google it 😆🙏🏾🤪
@Unique Whimsy Oops am I bad. Lol
@@poodlegirl55 lol no you’re not bad, just responsible for this lady’s impending habit! 😆😂😆😂😂
Your buttonhole attachment also works with the Singer Touch & Sew (1970's) The other two boxes go with something earlier - 1950's or 60's.
Thanks! Maybe they'll work with my pink 50s machine...
The cats at 12:00 lmao
The second machine in the case had a knee control. I learned on a machine like that one
Ahem an idea to use all the vintage buttons you own. Button quilts
😏 I'm so intrigued
Oooh or a tree of life scene for wall art!

Yes, I feared as much, I'm not surprised. Thanks for sharing!

So neat to learn the history of these machines ☺️
Someone is getting in trouble....LOL
Plz plz don’t ignore
If you don't plan to ever use the patterns to make a garment, isn't that a waste of $$?
I think you can find someone to fix and repair it for you. Call some places and see. 1927. Wow!
