Your little nephew's halloween sweater is adorable. Babies have big noggins. I laughed and laughed because my son had a bigger than usual noggin when he was born (I had gestational Diabetes and babies whose mom's have it tend to have bigger noggins). I love watching Annie look at you, it seems as though she is adoring you but we cat parents know they only want us to come do their bidding.

I LOVE that shawl! It looks so soft and drapey. We have a secondhand craft store here in Pittsburgh called the Center for Creative Reuse, and it’s always a treat to go in. I highly recommend if you find yourself down this way.

I feel you 😂 While my stash is not as big as yours, it has gotten out of control. I have forgotten a lot of what I have and when I start a new project, I buy more yarn for it. I finally started organizing it and putting it in my ravelry stash. I am determined to not buy more until I work through much of what I have. It takes a lot of time to do this, but I think it will be worth it.

Gosh, I heard a lot of bad about this event but honestly, it isn't as bad looking as it was made to sound. Ok, there's a lot of people and some mud. Whoopdie doo. Every Christmas bazaar and craft fair is busy and outdoor events in autumn/ winter are muddy and wet. I wish I could have been there, the event looked awesome with amazing vendors I never saw at rhinebeck.

I use a small fan or place it under a ceiling fan to hasten the drying when I block a piece. I’ve also made two Moonset tees and it does feel like forever to get that body finished!

I just want you to know you have inspired me to redo my room that I use mostly for work into a craft room.

16:04 Annie is definitely ready for her close-up 😅 Regarding your Ripple crop, I think even if there's a line between the original and the "added in" ribbing, it shouldn't be an issue as it will just look like a deliberately knitted hem.

Super cute! Nice job! I'm more of a necessity kinda person when it comes to sewing. I'm more at home with my needles and hooks! I JUST got my sewing machine out and gave it a thorough cleaning a few weeks ago. It'd been at least ten years. Lol

I love this. I started knitting Christmas gifts at the beginning of September. Last year,l definitely underestimated how long it would take last year when I started in November. I made a three hats, a sweater (baby sized), 7 pairs of vanilla socks, but didn’t finish everything I wanted to on time. So far, I have a scarf and mitten set done to go with a hat from last year and patterns for sweaters for my nephews (4 months and 2.5 years) a shawl, at least 2 pairs of socks, another set of mittens, and three hats 😵‍💫 it sounds crazy written out like that but I knit almost any time I sit still and have a surgery scheduled for early December that will leave me having to sit a LOT. Who knows, maybe I’ll add a couple things. I have stopped knitting for myself though. I’m finishing a sweater for myself but don’t plan to make anything for myself until after Christmas things are done

That is such a bummer about your Stego sweater! 😢 I definitely feel like it was an oversight on whoever put the kits together. If it’s by size they should include enough yarn for the given sizes or else they should have been very explicit about needing to purchase more yarn.

For the ripple top you can knit on a band of lace or a narrow band of garter similar to a button band. Personally I'd chose the lace band but that's just me

I love that Isaac Mizrahi yarn, I bought a couple bags from AC Moore too and made a great crochet sweater. It has held up well over the years.

I love the colors on your sweater with the brown lace neckline. If you do a gauge swatch, you might get a sense of how dense the fabric will be. Maybe you can increase your needle size to get a lighter fabric for the body.

I love that Annie was grooming herself as you talked about your knits. I think she thinks she’s the star of the show. Also, those cables look stunning! I just learned two by two rib and kinda messed it up so I think I’d kill cables in a bad way lol

I am all for adjusting goals halfway through. I've seen a lot of "Crocheting for 24 hours straight" videos floating around, and I don't want that type of grind in my fiber arts space. I appreciate the slow pace of making and being gentle with ourselves while trying to accomplish our goals. Anything else takes all of fun out of things and makes it stressful. Congratulations on your 4 finished objects, and I hope that when you get around to finishing the others, it's an enjoyable experience.

Thanks for the intro to Irene Lin - I wasn’t familiar with their patterns but some really great ones in their catalog! I made Lunenburg in those exact colors last year and I have work it TONS! It’s perfect for layering over a tee and jeans or over some black pants with boots. It wears great in that Lichen and Lace. (Also hello! Glad I found you and your podcast!)

Okay well I have never been more disappointed that I am not a knitter because these patterns are all SO beautiful! I am a crocheter but haven't taken the plunge into knitting yet. Hopefully someday though :)

I've only been able to thrift yarn twice before. And after you talking about thrifting yarn, I was able to find two totes of it at my local thrift store! I snagged both! One had a good deal of wool from the 70s-90s. <3 I love being able to give old yarn new life.
