Great 4 part tutorial on this valve tapped situation, I have a 72k miles ‘13 A4 B8 “same motor as you just showed” a CAEB with -7° cam/crank adaptation. I’m going do the entire timing components pretty soon, waiting for warmer weather.. I checked tensioner inspection and it’s at 7th notch.. but great video looking fwd to doing this before I slip a tooth. I think hardest part is getting the front clip off to work in the lower case area. Your video showed me everything to see and expect. Question: did you put blue lock tite on the guide triple square bolts and the t30 tensioner bolts, the timing case bolts and the four t30s on the front of the head? What about the balance shaft tensioner did you put lock tite on the 27mm tensioner threads? Again great video 👍🏻
Nice video's, very educational! Why did you choose to recondition the cylinder head, instead of an exchange engine? ' And at this engine the crankshaft sprocket can be replaced, but with by a 1.2 TSI this sprocket is still attached to the crankshaft, right..? So this cannot be replaced separately..?
Exchange engine? You mean like a second hand one from a junkyard? I believe in repairing rather than replace. Why remove and replace a perfectly repairable engine? This repair is more cost effective for the customer, and it means i can warranty the workmanship. A used engine comes with a 28 day warranty on the engine only, so if it's no good i take it out again for free....
You should be lining it up with the gold link on your new chain. Follow this video or one of the many others i have that all show how i set the timing on these engines. There is one for a mk6 golf gti with a similar ea888 2.0t.
~14:10 you state that there is a TSB to remove the screen from the cam bridge. Do you know what that TSB is? I have never seen such a TSB and Audi advises to replace that cam bridge ending in G with a newer version currently ending in K.

@@FourRingsAuto I am not a tech, don't have erWin, and only have access to public information. However I have asked Audi and was told their guidance is to replace the cam bridge. That's why I was curious if you had the actual technical service bulletin # so that I could look it up. As you say, possible it's not applicable in the USA but I dont see why it would be any different for a USA cam bridge vs anywhere else, it's the same one ending in "G" that's made in Germany for the OEM part
I just had someone put a used engine in my audi q5 2011 plus a timing and i bet he didnt even check to see if my Cambridge screen was ok or think to change the o ring on it 🤨🤨🤨

Cant beat the older vw and Audi engines,the pd engine was unstoppable
Agreed that was a great engine if maintenance was kept on top of.
The SDI was bombproof
Followed all the way thru. What was KMS of the engine?
From memory it was around 140k kms. Roughly 80 or 90k miles.

@@FourRingsAuto well I actually removed the cams because I installed new pistons and rings I'm just having a hard time reinstalling the camshafts
Installing them into the head? What are you struggling with?
how much does it cost to do it? replacing timing chain and all
The timing chain is about a 9 hour job by the book

It is a TPI for sure. I have it saved to my database but will have a look on the weekend. It might not be applicable in your country if USA.

there in the engine is heard a ding ding I think that after 100 km you will ruin all the work you have done
Not sure what you're referring to. No issues and this was over 6 months ago.
