    It always amazes me how a simple project can look so elegant when it is finished. Complicated objects are not always the most beautiful. Like the work you do! Take care!

    Great idea! It's never too soon to start with Christmas plans. We've already started to listen to Christmas music.

      Hi Donn, great to hear from you as always. I was thinking it might be a little too soon but if I leave it any later I was worried that anyone who wanted to have a go at making these for Christmas wouldn't have enough time to get organised to make them. So I thought, why not let's share a few ideas.
      Hope all is well with you and your family. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍

      Hello from Minnesota, USA. I found your channel about a month ago. I'm a woodcarver, scroller, and crafter. Thank you for these ideas! Is that your father at the end of the video? What are you two doing with that tube thing?

      ..... I also wanted to say I ordered a vice and will have a strong bench made so I too can start carving Love spoons. Ive been in a carving block...now I'm fired up again. Thank you.

      Wow, lovely to hear from you. Delighted to hear that you are getting into love spoon carving it is great fun and with no rules or regulations you can carve whatever you want. That is indeed dad at the end of the video. The tube at the end of the video is a Christmas cracker. You've got me wondering if Christmas crackers are just a UK thing now!! Let me know if you have any questions about lovespoon carving, we love to help out and share the tradition with everyone.

      I just looked it up, it seems that the Christmas cracker is a UK thing. You pull the cracker and it has a small bang, inside is usually a terrible joke a paper crown and small plastic toy.
      And here's me thinking Christmas crackers are a universal thing around the world.

    Nice works that you're showing here! Maybe consider drilling with the forstner bit before cutting. It'll give you more material to clamp or hold the work piece. Btw, should you ever want to renovate the engine housing of your machine, send an e-mail to Hegner. They have the paint and even sent me a small can for free, when I was just asking them for the paint code once. Good service is something than can compensate lot for the price of those saws. Merry Christmas to you guys!

      Hi, great to hear from you and thanks for supporting our UA-cam channel. Our machines are getting a little older now both over ten years old but it shows how well made they are because both are still working perfectly, although as you point out they could probably do with a few coats of paint!! Spot on about Hegner, always get great service from them and have always sorted any issues or questions we have had in the past.
      Thanks again for your feedback and supporting our UA-cam channel. Wishing you a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year, all the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍

    which drill do you use on the machine to cut for the candles?

    • @DailovespoonsThomas
      @DailovespoonsThomas  3 роки тому

      Hi Diana,
      Great to hear from you. I used a Forstner drill bit to cut out the recess for the candle. From memory I believe it was a 45mm drill bit. Basically I measured the bottom of the candle and chose the appropriate Forstner drill bit.
      If you are interested in having a go at making the different items yourself, you can find alot of the templates on our website for free by following the link in the video description.
      Thank you again for getting in touch. Hope that helps out. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍
