I went to see the Monsters of Rock festival in 1988, which was Van Halen's festival, cause they were the main act, and the Scorpions were the second to last act, and stole the show. This was a bill, which included not only Van Halen, but Metallica too, and the Scorpions blew everyone away...believe it or not.
I used to have the MSG (Michael Schenker Group) album "Rock Will Never Die" a live recording made at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. On the last song "Doctor Doctor" MSG are joined by Klaus and Rudolf. The thing is when i first heard it the singer sounded just like Klaus but his name wasn't mentioned on the album's credits. That's why i thought it might was Michael who sung 😅 When i watched the concert live on vhs i noticed it in fact was Klaus Meine singing along with Gary Barden (singer of MSG)! Like you said once you heard his voice you know right away it's him.
Scorpions were big in the 80's! All their music is really good! Try - No one like you - Send me an Angel -Blackout - The Zoo - Rock you like a Hurricane
I took a class in college about rock n roll. The instructor said, I thought jokingly, that the Scorpions were the world’s greatest band. I laughed it off, but the more I hear, the more I toss them into the mix.
Nobody does hard rock ballads better than the Scorpions. This version seems shorter than the album version, which I think keeps that "Still Loving You" thing going a while longer." Try also "When the Smoke is Going Down." Other great Scorpions songs: "No One Like You," "Rock You Like a Hurricane, " "The Zoo," "Animal Magnetism." The last two on that list were from 1980's Animal Magnetism album. Notice how much coarser Klaus Meine's vocals are in that early album. He had surgery to repair his vocal chords between that album and 1983's "Blackout" album and his later albums had much smoother vocals. I love both sounds, and both show his talent in using his voice.
I'm a 50yr old man. My 18yr old boy rocks the music I grew up listening to. Makes me proud, my 14yr old boy turns up volume when he likes the tune. Lol
Mattias Jabs (lead) and Rudolph Schenker (rhythm) on guitars, Klaus Meine is the lead vocal. He sounds even better live.😉 Welcome to The Scorpions. You are officially a rocker now. (***I could be wrong about the lead guitarist on this one---Mattias and Rudolph sometimes switched, and Michael Schenker did some lead guitar work, too. Any Scorpions fans out there who can verify? Thanks!)
Wikipedia has it listed as Rudolph Schenker as lead guitar on this one. But take that with a grain of salt...wikipedia isn't always the most accurate source.
They sold more than 110 million records, they are always among the 100 most profitable tours in the world, if that is underestimated I don't know what it is to be popular! Scorpions are a very well-known band.
The Scorpions have been here in Germany around all through the 70's, they kept on touring and making albums. But only in the 80's they made their international breakthrough. An epic song, indeed. Thanks for keeping on trying with them!!
Many bands that toured with Scorps pretty much hated sharing the lineup with them because they were so good, they showed up all the other bands. In 2016, I was at the Vegas Classic Rock Awards and Scorpions were the main draw and were getting the Classic Rock Outstanding Lifetime Achievement award. There were many 80s bands there to get different awards and each of them thanked the Scorps for being the iconic influence that they were to all of them. You just can't get any better than that. BTW Matthias, lead guitar, back in the day was considered by Rock mags to be one of the top 3 or 4 ?? best rock guitar players. But he never really got his just recognition. Without Matthias being one of the major 4 guys, Scorpions never would have become as infamous as they did, with his signature sound that became Scorpions signature sound. Thank you MJ!
Spent 10 weeks of 2001 in Portugal visiting relatives who couldn't say enough about a Lisboa Scorpions' concert they enjoyed three times in February. Well, I've seen the best of the three concerts and a lot more than three times.
My favorite Scorpions song with "Winds Of Change", "Send me An Angel", and "No One Like You"!!! Klaus Meine lead vocals...best voice in ROCK! Ravi Shenkar guitar
The mournful guitar is so good in this song. I still maintain that some of the best musicians and vocalists from the last few decades are in rock/metal bands.
Thanks for posting this Jayvee. The Scorpions were my favorite and most memorable concert EVER ! July 1982 @The Met Center in Bloomington, MN which is no more as it's now the Mall of America. The music was so loud, so clean .... damn it was a total sensory immersion. I couldn't tell you if the music was coming from within or without.... it didn't matter ! Lovedrive and Blackout are my favorite albums. "Blackout" is a kick-ass title track., but I like them all. I love the contrast they express in their music, from their all-out I-can't-stop-moving songs like "Can't Live Without you" and "Dynamite", to their heavy electro-coustic "Holiday" to the power reggae of "Is there Anybody There". "Arizona" is just plain fun ! "China White" is a psychedelic, headphones a must. The guitar work is superbe in all their work ....I know it sounds funny but they way they use their guitars it's like an other-worldy-presence. April Wine is also a favorite band of that era ...." I Like to Rock" ua-cam.com/video/YlcY_enzwmI/v-deo.html and "Roller" ua-cam.com/video/usWQOPTORn8/v-deo.html While this track and band is surely off the beaten track of well-knowns .... Max Webster was a great band and this song they both played and recorded with RUSH while on tour in the early 80's. "Battlescar" ua-cam.com/video/PMM6Bhwpy0M/v-deo.html There are endless of these gems "hidden in plain sight" !
Your reaction is much like the way each of us felt when we heard this the first time! One of the most amazing things about The Scorpions is how absolutely incredible they are live. They are not just a studio band! The way the sound in the studio is exactly the way they sound on stage. Easily in my top 5 concerts of all time. Check out “Blackout,” “Is There Anybody There,” “No One Like You,” “I’m Leaving You,” “Big City Nights,” and “Holiday.” 🎧
I can't believe you hear so many hits for the first time! Even if you like different kind of music, these epics were eveywhere. I would love to be at your place, listening all these legendary songs for the first time!
Many recomend songs from Scorpions, but the best for me is still their kind of forgotten gem "Holiday", Guitar play at it's best. Such an incredible melancholic tune in the start with the best hard ending you can imagine!!!
I saw them in the First "rock in Rio". In the same night i saw "withesnake", "Ac/DC" and "Ozzy ousbourn" . The night was called "the night of heavy metal".
Great video for a great song! The single sold over 2 million copies in France alone and sparked a baby boom in Europe! Try Sails of Charon, with their former guitarist, Uli Jon Roth, one of the greatest ever in rock! There’s a clip from a television show where they’re miming to the record, but it’s the best you can get, as it’s from 1977. I’d love to see your reaction to the guitar playing in that one! It’s otherwordly!!
Scorpions 1 of the top 5 band of the 80's. One band I missed in concert. Damn report card got my ass grounded and couldn't go. They call that child abuse these days. LOL
There are two guitarists that switch off leads...Rudolf Schenker (the Gibson Flying V guitar) and Matthias Jabs (on the Gibson Explorer). Both guys are superb!!! This is one of the main metal bands of the 1980s. They were power ballad masters! "Big City Nights" live from 'World Wide Live' is amazing!!!
First album i was offered, i was 8 ! Scorpions is my life, the guitar, the singer gives me chills everytime ! Try "wind of change" and "send me an angel" this will change your life
Klaus’s voice is one of the most recognizable rock power voices of all time.
I recommend "no one like you" and "rock you like a hurricane"
I second that.
Yes we need a no one like you reaction, I haven't really seen anyone react to it yet
"Rock You Like A Hurricane" was a very common title/message written on aircraft ordinance back during Desert Storm. Seem like yesterday...
Ugh...the 10,000th time hearing Rock you like a hurricane.
One of those voices you just immediately recognise.
I used to have the MSG (Michael Schenker Group) album "Rock Will Never Die" a live recording made at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. Klaus' voice is so gorgeous.
This song is just sexy and hypnotic.
Little man, BIG VOICE!🔥
Sexiest male voice in the history of music
Yes! I love his voice so much! 💜💜💜
His voice is literally HAUNTING! Melodic and symphonic!
Not just hypnotic---WHIPnotic.
Scorpions were big in the 80's! All their music is really good! Try - No one like you - Send me an Angel -Blackout - The Zoo - Rock you like a Hurricane
When the smoke is going down, Always Somewhere, Lady Starlight, Holiday, Woman
Rene17 yes, send me an angel! ❤️
I love The Zoo! Wow- I forgot about that one!!
@@andreawalter9212 The Zoo is my jam. I looooove that song! :-)
Definitely the Zoo

I seen this concert in South Philadelphia in 1980s and my ears are still ringing
😅😅😅🙂
Try "no one like you", one of their best!
One of my favorites from them! The drum beat and guitar solo is perfect in no one like you
"No One Like You" is #1 for me by the Scorpions.

"Send me an angel" plain and simple
Unfortunately this is the short version. The complete song really kicks ass! This version only leaves you wanting.
My favourite one is Scorpions with Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra "Rock you lika a hurricane" 🔥
THE ultimate rock ballad that ended by a lot of babies 9 months later all over Europe 😂 Such an iconic song, and what a singer and guitarist!
One of the recognized guiter player and under appreciated as well.
I was 13 when this song came out. It’s still one of my favorites. So. Good.
Anything on the Love at First Sting album is good
This song is so haunting. I feel like my heart is being ripped out whenever I hear it.
Wow I forgot how good this song is holy crap!!!❤ thank you for reacting Jovaughn
This is my favorite Scorpions song.
Love the Scorpions: Rock You Like A Hurricane, Send Me An Angel, Holiday, The Zoo, No One Like You.

1st time hearing that song, by the Scorpions. LOVED IT!! 👍👍👍

You struck gold on this one!!!!!🥰💜🎵🎶🎼 It took 6 years for them to get this on the album!!! Masterpiece!!! ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE!!!💜💜💜
This is my fav track of theirs ❤️
I picked up a Guitar 8 years ago because of listening to these guys now I do a cover in gigs. People just love the guitar work in this song
Germany's answer to American hair bands...but they had a lot more staying power than most of the American groups. They've had a LOT of big songs.
That and they managed to not hate each other and disband lol
