The moment when all the instruments kick in and it goes from melodic to more metal and speeds up... that climax is a lot of what I love about APC and Tool.

To me, this song sounds like someone frustrated and broken over someone else in a hopeless situation. Like , an addict who was close to someone ended op ODing, survived, but plunged into a dour coma, and this song is that someone they were close to trying to struggle through it.

I like to look at this song as two people in a conflict. A person that u clearly can tell, has something against you, but he don't want to face you. "Wake up and face me". That's something I just hate, when people take distance and prejudice you, just because they are simply afraid of you, not knowing who u are.. You ask them why and they back off, being somehow aggressive against you, but still not capable to do anything or come up with any reason :)

They're just so different. I find it impossible to compare it to the original, because although the lyrics are the same, it has a completely different message than the original. This is one of the things I like about APC, their covers aren't dead following the original, but an original cover of the cover.

This song honestly brings tears to my eyes. I've been dealing with a boyfriend that I love unconditionally but somehow.. this song hits home. I love him and all of his flaws. But I know the struggle he deals with everyday with his alcoholism.. sometimes I want to turn this up so loud in front of him and slap him in the face lol but I know that wouldn't help. I love a perfect circle. I Listen To Them When EVER I'm Struggling.
Shelby Gallegos Keep strong and I hope he overcomes it. Took me forever to myself and even then I have relapses when stress becomes too much or it's shoved in front of my face. But I still can restrict myself the majority of the time to not let me get drunk. ((At least I'm wasn't a violent drunk. Just a emotional drunk who also has severe depression)
Shelby Gallegos advice him to a rehab, i know its hard and may seem top much but it always works, your love is something that is rare and its more than enough to support you both. dont worry about what he says or what he says will do, talk to him when he is sober and guide him, there are many cases that was successful when people were sent to rehab. :) take care and dont worry :D

It's actually a remake of a song by a side-project band maynard was a part of called "tapeworm".
Also, the theam throughout the album emotive (where this track is found) is war/peace.
He wrote stuff for his mom for the Tool album 10.000 days though (10.000 days being the number of days she was sick/dying or something, can't remember).
