I was religiously abused and abusers by a preacher as a child and I prayed for God to help me heal. I recently found the UU churches and their philosophies and I’m so grateful. No dogmas, no threats, no divisions or discriminations, just finding truth, making the world the best we can and seeking justice and compassion for our fellow man. This speech really expressed things wonderfully🙏🏼❤️
Maam I say this out of love for you soul flee! From that church and put your faith in Christ for it is Jesus who bore the Wrath of God the father on your behalf so that you may have eternal life not eternal hell repent of your sins and trust in Jesus
@@lawalynlewis7552 After seeing this person saying they appreciate "no dogmas, no threats", you read that as, "Pleas give me dogma and threats." Learn how to read a room.
I was raised UU and It’s made me able to implement Christian practices into my life coexisting with Buddhist practices! Many Christians will tell you it’s not right but please ignore and follow your heart if an open and personal relationship with god sounds right to you! Only you know what’s right!
"Profound humility and active love" This religion is definitely one of the best, most tolerant, most humane religions in the world today. Furthermore (like Baha'i and some of the eastern religions) this religion moves the world actively toward world peace and harmony. I grew up as a Christian. I am still a Christian. I am proud to say that my religious expression of choice is with the Unitarian Universalist church. I love their 7 principles too!
@@troywright359 Yeah, little do they know that the Flying Spaghetti Monster religion is that one narrow way, and atheists just happened to accidentally pick the one true faith ;) If you were true to your faith (assuming Christianity) then your goal must be to save as many souls as possible, with the end goal of having one world religion. If you believe unsaved people will suffer infinite punishment you should be out on the streets with a megaphone trying to get through to them. In the grand scheme of things nothing else in the world is even 1/1000000th as important as doing your best to save even one more soul. Very few people act as though they truly believe.
This sermon moved me more than I wanted it to. It actually lines up with what I've always intuitively felt - even more than the label "atheist" which I normally wear - without pandering to the lazy "I'm perfect no matter what I do" creed I think a lot of people want to hear. Watching this as an atheist I felt the urge several times to stand up and shout "hallelujah!"
I’m religious but not spiritual. I could give a crap about truths I don’t believe humans are capable of knowing or that it’s arrogant to even pretend to. But Jung was right, rituals, community, tradition, memes - these have an important psychological and social function in our lives and this church understands better than any other I know, how to build and refine that rather than plod along using ones that seem childish and absurd and demanding you accept them as miracles.
This preacher is outstanding. He has gone into the primary documents and main thinkers of Unitarianism and Universalism, and these give him his enthusiasm. My congregation just said goodbye to another outstanding minister served us for over 20 years, someone many feel is virtually impossible to replace. I think Aaron White could come pretty close! When the search formally starts in a few months, I will be putting this minister forward.
@@grenade8572stay away from Unitarianism. Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks,” (Matt. 12:34). You can see that the Unitarian Universalists speak first from their own desires, according to their own wisdom, and not according to the wisdom of God. What does God say about this? “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God,” ( 1 Cor. 3:19).
Why would the first Unitarian Church of Dallas be advocating for Communist Industrial Workers Fight Racism? Communism and religion absolutely don’t go hand-in-hand with somebody investigate this church?
Very good explanations of UU, thank you very much for this. My husband and I attended a UU church this past Sunday for the 1st time, together and it interested us. This helped clarify things even more. We'll probably attend a few more times, at least.
i found this very inspiring and helpful because all of my friends are christian and when they ask what being uu means or what it is i dont exactly know what to say and i feel cleansed and fresh after listening to this thank you soo much -finley J
Thanks, First U Dallas, for another fine video from Rev. Aaron White. I really appreciate hearing from him. As often, it saddens me to read the comments section here on UA-cam as it does elsewhere online, and to see people telling others that they're practicing their own faith incorrectly. At least with videos like this one, those who have an open mind and ears to hear have the opportunity to learn what we Unitarian Universalists are all about. Thank you again!
If I serve anything at all, it's the Spirit of Life and Love which leads to peace, joy, and the greater good. The Hebrew word _satan_ means "adversary" or "archrival". Since I believe that God is Love and Being itself, it doesn't stand to reason to accuse me of serving "satan". Have a blessed day!
God loves you. I'm working on it. Once you understand that "we are all God's children", and that God doesn't play favorites, you will no longer feel the need to be so judgmental about those who differ from you. At least that is my prayer. And yes, I think it serves the greater good for me to be kind toward you even if my inclination is to do otherwise...
My congregation just lost a minister of that caliber. Can't complain:after giving us 22 wonderful years she needed to chart a new course for herself. I hope Aaron White or someone as good is available when we're ready to choose a replacement.
Yup...I'm a Unitarian Universalist....For the longest time I dug buddhism but not the whole reincarnation or exactly that there is a good or bad karma and that it directly equates to what you get in return....experience is just experience...And that's the church I want...The church of individual perception and the motto is that "there are no absolute truths and everything is subjective." But yeah. I live in a major city with one of these church's i found out, so I'll be there next sunday. The main benefit of this to me is to build a sense of community and share my spirituality amongst others. Peace and love you all.
[Quran: Surah an-Nisa' 4:171.22] O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His Word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for you! - Allah is only One God. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender. [Quran Surah al-Ma'idah 5:116.6] And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah ? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then Thou knewest it. Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy Mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower of Things Hidden ? [al-Ma'idah 5:75.3] The Messiah, son of Mary, was no other than a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) had passed away before him. And his mother was a saintly woman. And they both used to eat (earthly) food. See how We make the revelations clear for them, and see how they are turned away! [at-Taubah 9:31.16] They have taken as lords beside Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden to worship only One God. There is no God save Him. Be He Glorified from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! [an-Nisa' 4:157.10] And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain. @eklektikTubb Because if you have no substance to your own beliefs, than you can easily fall to sin (or wrongdoing if that terminology is off putting).
I was raised pretty Catholic and went to Catholic high school. My 4 years there solidified my belief in God, but pushed me away from the church, and really made me question the whole Jesus part. I have spent the past few years struggling with my faith, as I feel I am becoming closer to God, but farther and further from Catholicism. I am only a few minutes into this video and I think I finally found where I belong! A faith I can pursue again, without feeling morally conflicted
A typical UU congregation has a large proportion of ex-Catholics, like me. I was raised in a Catholic family, did first communion and confirmation, and at 14 became intensely Catholic, ready to defend the faith against all debaters. But attending a Jesuit-run university turned me against the dogmatism and authoritarianism of that faith. It was a bitter experience. I married a practicing Catholic who was herself at the beginning of skepticism and disaffection, and she felt grief when she decided she had to leave Catholicism behind. We visited a UU fellowship in a university town at my suggestion. She let me drag her there as she muttered about "ethical culture BS" -- and she's the one who fell in love with it all, jolting me. Well, I'd always respected her instincts, and she was right again. That was in 1974, so we're now UUs for 47 years. So I'm ambivalent about the drops in Catholic numbers. That religion is such a good source of new UUs!
Catholicism is true, the authoritarianism makes complete sense because it tries to defend the morality of the society, without the Catholic Church's iron fist we get liberal societies where the morality erodes.
I love what I heard. I have a real problem with absolutism. I suspect it is partially because I harbor this myself. I am planning on visiting a nearby UU church. I'm cautiously excited about what I will find there.
We're not all God's children New International Version Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
All are inherently good, my oh my. That includes Adolph Hitler, Saddam Hussein, etc. The Holy Scripture states There is not one good, no not one. But individuals are made good by Jesus' shed blood on the cross. By faith and repentance one is made righteous in Christ. Satan is roaring lion devouring and deluding those living immoral lives and ones trying to live morally in these false religions, religion without Christ -- how sad and eternally sad. May these come to real faith in Jesus Christ, God the Son, and Saviour and Lord!
Jesus also says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." If we only take Jesus for a teacher, than we completely disregard this statement as well as him openly claiming to be God. This is found in his trial, when the Pharisees ask, "Are you the son of God?" And Jesus answers, "I AM." In the original context, most theologians think that son of God means the physical manifestation of God , based on prior things said of the messiah in the ot. Furthermore, all capital I AM translates in the context to Yahweh, disclosing that Jesus did in fact claim to be God.
God! You put prying hands for your comment ; I find that astonishing; being that this " church doesn't even acknowledge God; He talks about good and being holy you can have neither with God; this church is a breading ground for a sinful lifestyle ; he then boast of wisdom; you cannot have wisdom until you have the fear of God; the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge this church is no different that a satanic temple; If there's no God why the praying hands

I'm going to a Unitarian Universalist church tomorrow and I'm really excited because this is exactly what I'm looking for. No more fundamentalism and no more trying to brain wash myself into believing things I can't believe just because everyone else does.
Unitarian Universalism makes a lot of sense----common sense. Common sense of universal unity of us all. The Almighty cannot be Arabian/Mohammadan, GOD is not Jewish, is not Christian, is not Hindu. The Almighty Supreme Being is the ONE Super Power , sustaining us all. The ONE Super Power, which is Universal, the creator, the sustainer and the ruler of us all.
The core philosophy of Unitarian Universalism certainly does make sense. Unfortunately the Unitarian Universalists have gotten heavily into Wokeness snd that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
@@jabujolly9020 that’s one reason why I never joined a UU church. I’m into common sense. Not woke crap. I’m all for hearing people out. Try to see from their perspective.. but the woke.. I just can not get behind that line of thought, at all.
@@jabujolly9020 right! I come from an a-religous agnostic household, and unitarian and universalism make the most sense to me compared to trinitarianism or Hebrew/islam.But being European I'm really turned off by the North American hysterical woke agenda amd ideology that I've discovered seems to be pushed by unitarians. it's just anti white racism and original sin and anti community / nation.
I'm very intrigued on how this minister has described Unitarian Universalism. Long story short, I grew up in a very toxic Christian church in the 1980's to mid-2000's. Briefly attended a couple of Catholic churched but eventually fell out of the faith due to not agreeing with Christianity. Heard about Unitarian Universalism because of pro-LGBT, pro-evolution and more humanist beliefs.
Repent and turn to the Christ. No one can be perfect. Jesus came to offer us salvation through His blood. Grace is about something we don't deserve but is offered to us by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Repent brothers and sisters, come to Christ, he is waiting for you to accept Him. Much Love
This is all really fascinating. And I agree with the vast majority. The only thing I dislike is that they call it a religion. I'd prefer it to be continuously called an association, congregation, or organization more than a religion because by definition and practice, it simply isn't. The other thing is saying that people of any religion can join or that you can be a part of other religions. But you really can't. All other religions are viewed objectively and tell you what to believe or how to behave and the doctrines and practices are meant the be taken literally which is the complete opposite of Unitarian Universalism. You can only lean towards a religious belief or be eclectic in them.
Emma McKee This isn't true. Your perspective is from a judeochristian view. Many many many religions not only respect the validity of other religions, but can be believed together. A great book about what is religion is called the sacred and the profane :).
I'm into Hermeticism. And multiple things so this fascinates me. I believe Spirituality is forever evolving and growing💖👏🙏 Thanks for this beautiful 💖 Speach.👌🏼
As a Christian I'd like to ask what "covenant" the UU appeal to in supporting the truth of their faith? I mean, there was no mention of a holy covenant in the speech, as I understand it that the covenant isn't a covenant with God.
Thank you for sharing this! I am hooked--this aligns perfectly with my beliefs. Are there Unitarian Universalist churches in the Chicago area that I can check out?

I am confused though, do UU practitioners predominantly believe in relativism? There were some parts of the sermon that kind of led me to that suspicion but I didn't want to assume anything.
I don't know what you mean by relativism. We're certainly not relativistic about morality. We pretty much agree about the right and wrong ways to treat other people and the earth. Some of us believe in God and some don't, and it gets really interesting when the believers try to define God! Our recently departed minister tried to accommodate all varieties of belief, but she was quite clear on this: "I am not a theist." In fact, I don't remember having a theistic minister in the 47 years I've attended there. One minister described herself as a pagan, her precedessor as "an American Transcendentalist." On politics we're mostly left of center, but listen respectfully to the few conservatives among us.
There are alternatives that I think are better. I just am hesitant to say that I have knowledge. In my opinion Christianity is a better choice than Unitarian Universalism. One reason may be Blaise Pascal's anthropological argument.
Indeed. One fundamental underlying Judeo Christian belief is that we all sin, which simultaneously serves to humble us, and gets us to not expect our fellow man to be perfect. Also, with humanity being fallen, there is an opportunity for redemption, and a substantial mission for all believers to undertake: to save souls and be a whiteness to others.
@@hismajesty6272 that sounds great in theory but in reality most christians are the least humble people i've been around. when you think that the universe revolves around human beings and it's your duty to convert the entire world and there's no room for other beliefs. all of those views significantly outweigh any other things that could potentially humble them. there are more things that inflate the ego than humble. i've met some christians that are very humble but it's few and far between. they typically have a sense of entitlement and a belief that they're superior beings.
Can someone write me these words that ancestors unitarians said please!. I hope I found what religion I've been looking for. It was in me but didn't know exactly if there's anybody else and couldn't fit in Christian churches
Look up the British and Foreign Unitarian Association on the Web. The British don't call themselves Unitarian Universalist, but the two varieties have been influencing each other for nearly two centuries. Both groups, the British & Foreign and the UUA, formally organized in 1825. British congregations are sometime known to call American ministers, in fact. I attended the Richmond Free Church in 1989, looked at its history, and learned that the first minister they called was from Boston, Massachusetts.
I'm reading Carlton Pearson's book and I'm leading toward this belief. I'm tired of religion that does is hurt, control people. I want to more of God on this journey.
Hear me out if you care for yourself at all. I speak with urgency. One who is by nature a sinner will reject the one who hates sin. That one is the just God who is the creator of the universe and as such has every right to punish those who have violated his standard of perfection (For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God). Not only does he have the right to punish sinners, it would be against his nature to allow sin to go unpunished. If you understood your present state, then you would realize that you stand condemned before God. Why can you not see this? It is because you do not want to see it. You have suppressed the truth in your unrighteousness, but that does not excuse you from God's judgement. Speaking of you, Paul writes in Romans 1: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness." The wrath of God is revealed against you! You do not understand these things because you are dead and blind to the truth. You are hiding under the blanket of your own righteousness as the burning volcanic ash races toward you, telling yourself that you are not in danger because you cannot see the danger. Do not be concerned with how religion makes you feel. Rather, be concerned with how you stand before a God who demands perfection. I implore you, do not be a fool. If you care for yourself at all, consider what I have said. Repent of your sin and submit to Christ Jesus as Sovereign and trust him as Savior lest you be consumed by the righteous wrath of God which will be poured out against you whether you believe it will or not.
I've been to many different kinds of churches. Catholic, Baptist, Generic Christian, Penticostal, and a few others....even Buddhist and Hindu. The one thing that stuck out at each one was I never really felt like I was part of the community. I was always that guy interested in questions and knowledge while others just believed. Now, I don't judge them for it. I'm glad they can find peace with it....but I can't. I've never been to Universalist church and it sounds like a place thats open to free thinkers like myself. However, from my experience many self proclaimed "free thinkers" don't take kindly to people whom vote republican / libertarian. Seems like it would never come up, but I've been to "open minded" groups before and most of the time someone saying something that's clearly a democrat view point....the audacity that they just assume we all think like a democrat. If someone's a democrat that's fine....but I want it to be fine for me to not be a democrat. Would I find belonging and acceptance to a Universalist church or would I be looked as if I need to be converted to their way?
Yep, we assume being UU and being liberal-Democratic are the same thing, because predominantly we attract liberals and few conservatives. We did have one. He may still be with us, because we gave him the pulpit one Sunday. If I ever met him socially I would ask for his take on our social action programs.

"Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also."
Profound mistakes are unrighteousness and bring imputation of sin, not sympathy with evil but bear one anothers burden by accusation, for repentance and forgiveness.
is there something similar to this only with a belief in at least the possibility of jesus being the son of god? i really like most of this churches ideas
Try the Episcopalians, the UCC Congregationalists, Evangelical Lutherans, Disciples of Christ, Quakers, etc... There are no televangelists running these churches, but a lot of them are pretty tight groups. Go ahead and let "the Google" help you in your spiritual search.
Hey suki! From what I've gathered (I'm still researching this) one of the main things they believe is that we can't know everything, so therefore your hope of "at least the possibility" of Jesus as the son of God is definitely possible and would be accepted by this church. Overall it seems very accepting so I don't see why this would be a reason to avoid it. :D
People don't go to hell because of their acts, just like people don't go to heaven because of their acts. We either accept salvation or turn it away based on faith alone. In fact, when people ask Jesus why they would be sent to hell, he says very clearly,"I never knew you." This is coming from the same being that would never lie, so by not accepting Jesus he literally doesn't know you, which is why one would not obtain salvation.
+Dan Rush people don't go to hell because of their actions, but the scriptures do teach that ones actions will reflect their faith, as made evident in the teachings of Jesus, the book of James, the epistles of Paul, etc. For salvation though, it is only by faith through the grace of God that we are saved.
It doesn't simply tell you what you shall or shall not do it is showing you the possible choices and outcomes of those choices rather good or bad. Everything has a variable.
Sin is in all beings as is. But it is righteous that we FORGIVE and UNDERSTAND this condition by recognizing all of our divine values, rather than dividing ourselves based on a literal, fundamental and unquestioned defense of the Holy Bible, written by the very same sinners who claimed the word of god just like you and me :).
@eternalexistence6441 If we do not humble ourselves enough to believe the Holy Bible, which was assembled by saints of the highest piety, who asked God for guidance the whole of the way, then what is to be believed? If we have been mistaken about small bits of our traditions, Christ shall have mercy on us if we ask for his forgiveness.
guys.....this sect actually makes sense, its not a finger pointing us and them group. This is love, this is the group that will be attacked in the end of days. I really hope they dont become to big about their title
Because people who are fundamentalists and literalists don’t feel comfortable with people disagreeing with their views, or that differing views have validity
So, God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that if anyone believes in him they would NOT perish, but receive everlasting life. God does not want eternal separation, so he is doing all he can to stop that from happening.
Thank you so much, Aaron. I am a third generation UU, raising fourth generation UU children, and am in the midst of some struggles with our congregational practice of our covenant, and this sermon helps me so much.
Deism does make far more sense than theism, and I can get behind Spinoza’s god, but only as a metaphor for the universe. I would like to know, is there a humanist service in this church?
This is two years late, but there are no seperate services at First Unitarian Church of Dallas. They have an early service and later service for accessibility, but they are both the same sermon by the same minister.
Now that's funny. The church means ecclesia, the called out ones from the world. Universalist believes everything, so it cannot be a church that is apart from the world because they do not have an isolated and single truth. Truth by it's very meaning excludes everything outside of it's self. There can be only one, and the Truth is Jesus Christ.
Some people say church, some people say fellowship or other terms. It’s really just a way to convey to people that they are congregating on a regular basis and are a spiritual community
@@thisistheday597 It doesn't sound like they believe "everything" at all. They believe Jesus Christ was a human male not born out of divinity. They believe Hell does not exist. They believe original sin is not a thing...I could continue, but it might be better if you just rewatched the video.
@@rustinstardust2094 Naw, they believe everything like I said. Everything OUTSIDE of the Truth. The Universalist mindset thinks that man is divine but Jesus Christ is not. Its very telling that they accept every other religion but not the truth of God found in his son. I said what I said....
Yes, well said. I attended a UU fellowship for two years. I am a Theist in the Advaita Vedanta tradition and they kept telling me that they accept all beliefs and they had no dogmas. But that was a lie. Their "default" creed was the philosophy of scientific materialism. Most congregants, if they used the word God at all were timid and embarrassed when they did. At best they simply refered to a "transcendental assumption" and defined faith as community. Definitely a "church" without God.
I just wish that UUism would acknowledge that there creed is scientific materialism. I had a friend who was into Eckhart Tolle. She was elderly and had many problems but when talking about Tolle she'd become ecstatic. But people at the 'church" kept picking at her comments, trying to show her how ridiculos Tolle was. Her joy would turn into depression.
@@VedantaKesari how political is it? i'm more centrist and not progressive or extreme liberal. i don't judge people for their politics but i also don't want to be in an environment where i feel that it's pushed on me. i like the looks of this but that's the only part i'm concerned about.
You’re so close! So close! We can just admit together that there is no supernatural, and that nature in and of itself is already more fantastical than any one human mind can comprehend! Let’s savor this truth and beauty!
Seta-San, how can you say "they believe in nothing but liberalism"? Have you EVER read the principles and the sources? Have you EVER thought how important those statements can be to sincere people? Why is it necessary to believe in a single person or a simple creed? Why is it necessary to park one's brain at the door of the church every Sunday? Why is it necessary to listen to people trying to manipulate you into believing exactly everything they say? Why are the basic rules of argumentation and logic to be suspended in order for there to be a faith? Don't be silly.
I guess I respect what he is saying here. If I get this right he is saying rather than worshipping a deity you get closer to some kind of enlightenment through loving humanity and trying to make a positive change in the world. If so my next question would be what would they consider a positive change in the world would look like and does it have anything to do with trying to convert others into their church?. Get what Im saying here? :/
We're not great at growing our numbers, though we are growing a little, unlike most of the larger denominations. Social action is a separate concern. So when we feed the homeless, we don't make them pray with us first.
Not Christian..........Im Orthodox Christian and this isnt even close. Father,Son,Holy ghost This is Satanism light.Look into it before yelling at me please. But, denying the Father and Son is wrong.
God is one being as three persons. Can we understand it? Not necessarily. Some maybe better than others, but it is true. And He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins and mine!
It’s frustrating having found this wonderful church that seems almost perfect, but it appears that the church is largely polarized to one political ideology. Largely left leaning, that is. Is this the case?
Why are christians accusing these unitarians as a cult? Jesus said he is he way to God. His teachings are the way to God. I guess that the unitarians don't deny that.
I am a Muslim and I never heared any unitarian Christian belief. He is sounding like a muslim. God is most merciful and as long as we dont associate partners with him, then we will be fine, but putting other gods besides him is unforgivable sin. The only difference between Unitarian and Islam is the practical aspects of faith where Muslims fast each year, pray everyday 5 times etc, and also women cover their head like in the time of Jesus PBUH. And some rituals, but I see these wonderful souls as my brother in monotheism. I ask God to keep these Unitarians in the worship of one God because of the pressure of the trinitarians who are actually not following Christ, but the leftovers of the Roman pagan belief system.
My friend, please do not mistake the Unitarians for Christians. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing. Christianity is centered on the divinity of Christ, so anything to the contrary is not Christian. The reason you are confused, is because UU is heretical nonsense. Scientology makes more sense than this insubstantial rubbish.
"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 Jesus was either right and He said the truth, or He was completely wrong and He lied and therefore He cannot be trusted at all on any other matters if He was wrong and lied on this MAJOR one. IF JESUS WAS RIGHT, and I know He was, then that proves Unitarian Universalism completely wrong! Why do I believe He was and is right? Because He proved He is God by raising from the dead! Therefore He really is "the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through HIM". If you believe otherwise, then you're making Christ a liar who cannot be trusted on anything He ever said. Unitarian Universalism is wrong and false. You'll see one day. Let's just hope it will not be on the Judgment Day, when you cannot change your position anymore.
I am a Christ follower, but the way you are approaching others who are not and trying to scare them into believing in Christ is all wrong my friend. Come with love, not pushing fear.
Stephanie W Yes sure, but Jesus never approached false prophets with an agreeable manner. You must stay away from false prophets, and I think it is right for a Christian to say what is absurd from the Word of God.

@@troywright359 Yeah, little do they know that the Flying Spaghetti Monster religion is that one narrow way, and atheists just happened to accidentally pick the one true faith ;)
If you were true to your faith (assuming Christianity) then your goal must be to save as many souls as possible, with the end goal of having one world religion.

I have been a member of Croydon Unitarian Church, Croydon since 1990. I always wonder why we can't get the numbers or folk here like you have there.

This is everything. I like this.

Emma McKee
This isn't true. Your perspective is from a judeochristian view. Many many many religions not only respect the validity of other religions, but can be believed together. A great book about what is religion is called the sacred and the profane :).

I think Unitarian Universalism's biggest flaw is its optimism.
***** I do not know.
Why?

Except it's a misunderstanding of grace.
This is great! I think I've finally found my spiritual home. Do they have a presence in the UK?
Yes just Google it
Look up the British and Foreign Unitarian Association on the Web.
These people aren't spiritual, they're worldly.
Excellent!!!
What's John 8:57-59 claiming?

***** i really respect that :)

If we have been mistaken about small bits of our traditions, Christ shall have mercy on us if we ask for his forgiveness.
1 and 2 Peter were forgeries. They weren't written by Peter anyway.

Sound nice, but what is that last part about being incredibly frustrated and uncomfortable? A little bit scary, i think.
Because people who are fundamentalists and literalists don’t feel comfortable with people disagreeing with their views, or that differing views have validity
I need to meet people where they admit they don't know everything.
I love Unitarians. God described them in the Qur’an as believers (the original people of the book, the original people of the Bible)

The Word Became Flesh (John 1:1-14) meaning: Jesus is God in human flesh
@Thomas-ud5fi John, may I remind you, was a disciple of Jesus, and believed him to be the Son of God.
Very interesting religion indeed this is...
Many congregations are humanist in a nontheistic sense, some by covenant and some de facto. Can't tell you anything about the one(s) in Dallas.
Why do you call yourself a church?
@@thisistheday597 🤣 Ok. Be well.
I'm an athiest and I love this video. It's like church without God. I grew up Catholic so there must be some appeal there.
Retvrn
Church without God is only a social club for some secular purpose.

Gay marriage speaks for itself mate. Thats pretty god damn anti-traditional and therefore LIBERAL.

Some nice thoughts here.
Not Christian..........Im Orthodox Christian and this isnt even close.
Father,Son,Holy ghost
This is Satanism light.Look into it before yelling at me please. But, denying the Father and Son is wrong.
Indeed!
God is one being as three persons. Can we understand it? Not necessarily. Some maybe better than others, but it is true. And He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins and mine!
My wife asked me to start looking into UU, I think im starting to like it.
It’s frustrating having found this wonderful church that seems almost perfect, but it appears that the church is largely polarized to one political ideology. Largely left leaning, that is. Is this the case?
I think in this instance the word "church" should be replaced with "social club".
Why are christians accusing these unitarians as a cult? Jesus said he is he way to God. His teachings are the way to God. I guess that the unitarians don't deny that.
They do. He said they were founded on a resection of the Trinity, and denied the divinity of Christ.

No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
Jesus was either right and He said the truth, or He was completely wrong and He lied and therefore He cannot be trusted at all on any other matters if He was wrong and lied on this MAJOR one.
You know it's true? Were you there? The bible has so many contradictions and errors, that there is no way its infallible.

If the wicked go unpunished, God is unworthy of worship.
Daniel D. If the wicked repent and accept Jesus, they will not suffer. If one lives a good life and never accepts Jesus, that one will suffer forever.
If the good of heart go punished simply for not believing in God, God is unworthy of worship.
