I was grinding the Schlieffen line when this came out and was at tier 8. I played it a few times and actually like it a lot. It's comparable to the Zieten I was grinding. Iparanga actually has much better main guns and with the funny button more secondary power. But no hydro or torpedoes. And of course, the citadel difference. I had my best game in OPs the other day in the P Reupert. 396K damage and 8 kills. This was mainly due to paying attention to you. I don't have the exact timing of things down like you do but I'm a much more effective player now and getting better. Thanks for the informative videos.
Good match there. 👍 Since we were getting this ship for free, I was curious about its performance and I must say I'm not very impressed. Then again, if every new ship was better than all the ships before it, we would be on an endless spiral that would constantly force WG to figure out how to buff the older ships to prevent all older ships becoming irrelevant for the game - and WG likely doesn't want that amount of guraranteed headache on a permanent basis. So I'll take "solidly average", if Ipiranga can deliver that. 356mm guns for a T8 BB is a bit on the iffy side, imho, but then again we have Marlborough with these guns at T9. 🤣 Hope they don't perform like Fuso's guns for me, because my Fuso was the only IJN BB whose guns refused to work well for me (sold her out of frustration as soon as I got the Nagato - bought her back when the AL Fuso Captain came out to give her her proper home) 😅😅 Your idea of T5-7 Operations is a good one, because there are quite a few T5's I could see being really fun in that mode. Hope WG will go there eventually. Them making Ops available for T9+ was already a great thing, though, so we will probably have to wait a bit before WG feels like doing another great thing for Ops mode again. 😇
@@clefsan The offense for it is meh, but I hear the 9 and 10 are much better. Also after playing it more, the bad guns seems to be to balance the stupid armor. Had a Tuf game in her with t9 team mates and tanked over 2 mil damage chasing after CV and the first spawn...alone, and survived until the end of the match all because of her plating that is strong vs. HE spam. The original ops were actually open to t5 ships but people complained that tier 5 ships ruined the matches so the were removed...despite it being a player issue not a tier issue.
Definitely feels like im not playing the same game as others when I watch videos. You get 6+ hits with the main battery of that ship. Meanwhile, my Ipi is lucky to get 3-4 hits per salvo beyond a few km and it certainly doesnt slam those big 10K+ hits.
I’ve seen so many people devastated by AP from the bots in operations, it’s not a good ship in my opinion. Better to take a German BB out. At least it will survive longer. Broadside in this and you’re done for. It’s not forgiving. Fun to watch a tier 5 Kongo take one out with the greatest of ease.
Broadside in any ship is usually bad unless you bots are targeting a different ship. These actually do have armor, which means taking more full pen damage than overpen, but it helps some vs. the HE spam.

Im glad to hear my videos are helping. I will say I like this better than the Zieten and that line because the pan-am BBs actually have armor🤣

I feel the same with the way he hits citadels in most games. This game looked more like my norm for them than his.
I think we are, because as @gregcavender7798 pointed out, this felt bad compared to my normal games even for a secondary ship 🤣
