I'm curious why you were comparing Alabama to Iowa instead of to North Carolina? That feels like a closer comparison. Is it the maneuverability? I assume it isn't those guns (ugh). I remember when everyone got pissy because supertesters got the Bama and everyone wanted it. So they released it and I remember thinking "testers could have just kept this one".

I am wondering though, since a lot of the recommendations are basically, get the tier 10 versions (Azuma vs Yoshino, Pommern vs GK), how does the credit earning potential change between them? LIke, is it worth just taking the tier 9s because they're premiums even though they might be a bit worse overall? Appreciate it

Thank you for your video. Just wanted to share an opinion on the change in ops. I have to carry so often in ops, I don't play in a division, and when I took a good tier 8 ship say Mainz, it was fairly easy. Though Narai, you were always dependent on your team, you couldnt kill the transports and CV. I now find if I take a tier 8 I'm often the only tier 8 or one of two, and the rest of the team are tier 9. Correspondingly this up tiers the bots so they are 2 tiers above you. You are effectively bottom tier, something I dislike and the reason I don't play randoms. I tend to find taking a tier 7 is the sweet spot now. I value your opinion and wonder if you have a view? Once again thank you for your content, it is always educational and entertaining.

Very informative video, Void, thx. Luckily I already have the regular versions of all the ships in the BF sale, so I can save my money for the Christmas event. From the list of ships in last year's containers I'm only missing 7 or 8, then my inner completionist will be happy. I'm already curious to see which, if any, new ships get added to the containers this year. 😅 Three points about your video (two of them a bit nitpicky, sorry😇): Asashio: You misspoke when talking about her torps, saying they only worked on DDs (!) and CVs. Pommern: There are a lot of Azumas (might be the only Cruiser enemy in Ops that doesn't get torps at that level?) you are facing in Ops, so having torps is nice for sinking them on a close pass, if you get forced into that position (if your tubes even survive that long under the heavy HE bombardment from the big cruisers, of course). GK: It's not Gro-B-er Kurfuerst. That is not a "B" but a "ß", which is a sharp S (more modern german writing allows to replace it with "ss") => Gro-SS-er Kurfuerst as in Great Kurfuerst.

Brisbane is actually pretty good in Ops IME since it's a rapid fire CL and as long as you don't get obliterated by the bots it's a good time. That said she's available for coal straight up and you can get similar play with either Mino or Worchester in the TT.

Thx for featuring Ägir. 👍 Is it just me or does the AL Ägir Captain sound totally unhinged, especially when she laughs? 😅 I must say I was honestly a bit surprised at the end at how little damage the secondaries did. Will definitely check the modules on mine and replace any secondary ones, if there are any. As for Captain skills, on ships that have heals - if I don't absolutely need the points for something else more urgently - I like to pick the "extra HP"-skill, because I've heard the healing is percentage based (using your starting HP as a base), so extra HP gets more healing out of my heals. Also, Bourgogne and Mecklenburg are fun ships indeed. Now I'm waiting for the coupon reset at the end of next month to buy my next steel ship. Thinking about either Shikishima, Lauria or Incomparable, but can't quite make my mind up since all seem to have their pros and cons. Even listening to one of your recent videos where you discussed that topic didn't help me overcome my decision paralysis. 😅 Based on that one I even considered Vallejo for a moment, but I don't like the high tier US CLs all that much and you said Vallejo was comparable to Worcester. Maybe I'll go with a dice roll or something 🤔😅

Again a superb video! Love your analysis. Why has WG so nerfed the high tier Operations that many players wont play them? I had people say they rather play RANDOMS today, because of things like a 200k Maine that I put 12 citadels in and it doesnt die. Frankly, our RNG seems NERFED so bad that you can not kill them. I dont mind a challenge, like it much better than the low tier operations, but this is too much. I saw two Wisconsins today, last less than 5 min on ultimate frontier, an the players were 55k in randoms.... come on!

Instead of concealment module i run the Steering gear mod and use the main battery mod on slot 6,11.5km conceal is still good for a ship its size and the added manuverability makes the ship feel real responsiv.

Just got me the Legendary Mod for Kurfürst and is amazing how better the turret traverse feels, also running with secondary range. Also the "ß" is a letter in the german language and is not a B it more like an double s, also since i just found the channel you might just make a joke out of the "ß"by pronouncing it as a B to trigger all the germans.

I was sitting literally on the edge of my seat, getting all jittery, while watching your daring escape and cheering you on. 😀👍 And that Funny button... looks like WG sneaked Deadeye-skill on steroids back into the game with this one. The mission surely didn't get easier by the strange positioning choices of your team's cruisers. 😅 I'm not 100% sure, but I believe french DDs that existed before the techline DDs were introduced didn't get the saturation trait. Quick (unrelated) question: When I go into an Operation with a T8 and get 1-2 T9 teammates (rest T8), how does that impact the attributes of the opposing force? Do the high tier ships we will face get reduced HP and/or other debuffs or is it just bad luck to get teamed up with T9s then?

Love your videos!!!!!!! Operations are my favorite, but it is getting hard to play. NOT because the operation is hard, but because players are of such POOR quality as a general rule. THE PLAYERS are basically thinking this is COOP or they just suck so bad in general. Today.... I saw 7 Hilderbrans wiped over several matches because the PLAYERS WERE STUPID.... sorry to say, its the truth! I believe that the player bases quality is much worse now than even a year ago, but when added to bot ships being boosted so much by wargaming, winning an operation without a clan grouping is virtually IMPOSSIBLE on weekends, and normal days recently. I will keep playing opns, but again, the POOR PLAYER base is making playing WG at all a chore lately.

13:40 What BS is this, expecting players to go up against bots with a 3 tier difference!? /s Aigle kinda surprised me with how hard those torps hit. Detection range is kinda awful though. Matchmaking changes definitely make tier 6 ships more fun/feel less detrimental to take out into ops though. And tier 7 is the highest tier you can take in and be guaranteed low tier ops, so it gives the lower tier ships a nice niche in general I think.

Good match. I noticed, however, that you stayed just out of secondary range for quite a lot of the early parts of the battle. With the secondary range module that wouldn't have been an issue in your chosen position. Your main gun argument at the start of the video is valid, of course, but note that by staying outside secondary range so much, you pretty much waste the 4-point CQC Captain skill by not getting its benefit for your main guns. So if you want to keep the build as is, you should probably get used to moving slightly closer to the enemy than you did in the first half of this match. 😇

Schors actually can be saved if you ram him push him into one of the islands which breaks his scripting. Or you can use him as a bow-ornament and spaced armor vs torpedoes/guns.

Recommend he gargles with mixture of razorblades and Vodka for at least 5 minutes before trying again. For the Motherland, Comrade. (plays C&C Soviet March theme) 😅😇 Hope ya don't take that razorblade thing seriously, ofc. 😉 A guide like this is not a bad idea, but when you make it llook ike a combat briefing on the verbal side, it would probably give a more authentic feel if you use overview map with the ship type markers, use dotted lines to indicate routes (for example on missions where you have to escort ships or where a specific target needs to be sunk) and maybe put circles to show possible spawn points while you talk about what may come from there. Putting together a "combat footage reel" isn't necessary for a pre-combat briefing (since the combat hasn't happened yet and we are all pretending the mission isn't constantly repeatable, right? 😇). This might be easier and less time consuming for you on the editing side as well, I hope (not sure, since I have no clue about editing whatsoever😅).

Good match there. 👍 Since we were getting this ship for free, I was curious about its performance and I must say I'm not very impressed. Then again, if every new ship was better than all the ships before it, we would be on an endless spiral that would constantly force WG to figure out how to buff the older ships to prevent all older ships becoming irrelevant for the game - and WG likely doesn't want that amount of guraranteed headache on a permanent basis. So I'll take "solidly average", if Ipiranga can deliver that. 356mm guns for a T8 BB is a bit on the iffy side, imho, but then again we have Marlborough with these guns at T9. 🤣 Hope they don't perform like Fuso's guns for me, because my Fuso was the only IJN BB whose guns refused to work well for me (sold her out of frustration as soon as I got the Nagato - bought her back when the AL Fuso Captain came out to give her her proper home) 😅😅 Your idea of T5-7 Operations is a good one, because there are quite a few T5's I could see being really fun in that mode. Hope WG will go there eventually. Them making Ops available for T9+ was already a great thing, though, so we will probably have to wait a bit before WG feels like doing another great thing for Ops mode again. 😇

Void I'd like to add in that you did one hellva job on the OPs in wargamingwiki. All the time and effort you put in to make these is greatly appreciated. Have you played OPs so much that you remember the times and spawn areas while playing or do you keep a cheat sheet?

I’ve seen so many people devastated by AP from the bots in operations, it’s not a good ship in my opinion. Better to take a German BB out. At least it will survive longer. Broadside in this and you’re done for. It’s not forgiving. Fun to watch a tier 5 Kongo take one out with the greatest of ease.

I was grinding the Schlieffen line when this came out and was at tier 8. I played it a few times and actually like it a lot. It's comparable to the Zieten I was grinding. Iparanga actually has much better main guns and with the funny button more secondary power. But no hydro or torpedoes. And of course, the citadel difference. I had my best game in OPs the other day in the P Reupert. 396K damage and 8 kills. This was mainly due to paying attention to you. I don't have the exact timing of things down like you do but I'm a much more effective player now and getting better. Thanks for the informative videos.

Definitely feels like im not playing the same game as others when I watch videos. You get 6+ hits with the main battery of that ship. Meanwhile, my Ipi is lucky to get 3-4 hits per salvo beyond a few km and it certainly doesnt slam those big 10K+ hits.
