He was on an episode of 'The Bubble' (which was presented by David Mitchell) and one of the contestants actually told David that Robert calls him 'My David'! I have to say that there were quite a few reactions from David and Robert when that was mentioned!!! xD
These are great. Also Robert Webb's book is fantastic, mostly on audiobook he reads some of his teenage poetry at the end, and he giggles so much it's both hilarious and adorable!!
@@benbearrobinson Not going to lie, it was the audio book I was going to get and I genuinely forgot about it. But another comment on here has made me remember about it. So I'm going to try and get it now (I don't do audible I want it to be an mp3 so I can listen to it on things that don't have audible on them).
I watched the This Week segment. They treated you so badly! You did really well when faced with such awkward questioning and that complete pillock opposite you.
DM was always my favourite when I found them as a teen, but revisiting M&W now I like RW so much. They're both giants but I think RW is a shade taller.
Oh right. He's not my cup of tea. Richard Herring should do a Me 1 interview with Me 2 from his snooker podcasts. Not sure how it would go down, but it'd be cool.
The 'why can't I sell any of these fucking Bibles?' character isn't angry. The joke is that he's used to selling car parts and plumbing fixtures to men who are fine with swearing.
Have you ever tried making civ2 scenarios? I've made 18 of them that follow world history. This is not enough. Unfortunately it keeps on crashing when I try to define future technologies - it's very upsetting. Much worse than people dying! There should be more about civ2 on RHLSTP! Not stupid stories about real life!!!!!
I'm happy for Richsrd. He's close to the people he wishes he was. That's the closest he will ever be to being one of them. Someone. Like the people he interviews
I'm not that bothered about the Doctor changing sexes, but I wonder why the focus is that he's going to be a woman, rather than the Doctor being transgender. Maybe it means they don't want to make a big deal out of the gender identity, so it just doesn't matter what the Doctor's body is like in relation to the mind. Maybe the Doctor doesn't have gender identity.
Frottjeif Except when the Time Lord general regenerated back into a woman she complained about having had to deal with all that ego. It would be an interesting way to go.
Involuntary Celibacy should not be a phrase associated with self-obsessed and bitter wankers like that! There are some seriously awesome people out there who just don't know how to interact fluently, they should be given the gift of the name InCels! If you bring your celibacy on yourself via your personality or your inability to take pain or get over things... That's not really involuntary, is it?
Not fitting into a box 'isn't a big deal' (try being trans..). Maybe one to look back on later and call an arsehole moment?! Otherwise a super interesting interview, and I very much enjoyed reading Robert's book and would recommend it!
I disagree that the gender of Doctor Who is unimportant. I always thought the whole point was that the doctor was an entirely male character: aloof, idealistic, whimsical, distracted, meta, lateral, head in the clouds essentially. Then his partner was a woman: Calm, consigned, supportive but critical, always looking at the process behind the problems, bringing the Doctor back to earth, back to his responsibilities, back to the people he loves. It is the Grail story, not the stupid King Percy one, but the original one. The art of sacred union, the only truly godly form humans can take. Of course these two roles can be played by any gender, but they MUST retain these traits. Thankfully I'm not a mad DWHO fan, so even if it went very badly it wouldn't scar me, but I do believe the art of sacred union is still today the key to all existence and I hope they didn't remove those symbolisms when the Doc became a lady.
Some of the comments about Robert's book have followed a similar vein to the female Doctor Who; "Should be titled 'How to pander to the latest generation of man hating feminisationist scum in order to raise some shekels'". It's kind of ironic statement, given that hating a man for even daring to question the terms of how he was raised in a way that tells others that they don't have to follow a bunch of rules that aren't even written down is probably the most misandrist thing ever. (and if you were the only person left in the world, why would anyone have any fixed abode? Just make sure you have a wank in every house you choose to rest in)
+smoni19 Agreed, Some people seem to forget that whole 'fictional alien' thing. The one that always makes me laugh at those people is when they try and say that you wouldn't make Bond female, or Iron Man a woman or whoever they chose. They forget that there's one massively major difference between all these characters and the Doctor. Not one of them is capable of regeneration.
I could see changing Bond significantly. Because he's either a very old agent, or there are many different realities that each have a Bond, or who Bond is changes over time.
+Frottjeif +smoni19 I don't think any of the Bond theories really work 100% (last time I checked). The best one for me was always that a new agent took over the name and number each time. It explains the change of looks, personality, age and place in time. But Skyfall put a hole in that by confirming that JB was his birth name etc. He definitely doesn't regenerate like the Doctor in any way. With Bond it's best not to think about it too much, as it doesn't really matter, just accept that different actors play the role in different stories. As long as they don't officially redo any of the official films it'll work. :-)
Robert referring to David Mitchell as 'My David' is one of the best things ever! 😂

Robert Webb is one of my favourite people ever. Love this.
Robert's book is soooo good, challenging societal gender norms etc, awesome stuff.
'my David' Awwww😚
He's not Robert's David, he's everybody's David.
Is there anything more adorable?
@@adamlevine6700 yes! Once is a mistake, twice is a habit. It’s confirmed that he does this often and it’s adorable haha

I was thinking 16-yr-old Robert's question about loneliness might have trumped you, Rich, but your Dad/bath question saved the day!
These podcasts are amazing and I’ve just discovered them look forward to listening to all of my favourites thanks for uploading
Robert is as wonderful as I imagined he would be..and Rich is the greatest interviewer in the world
These are great. Also Robert Webb's book is fantastic, mostly on audiobook he reads some of his teenage poetry at the end, and he giggles so much it's both hilarious and adorable!!
This is an absolute belter
this was a great one.
Robert's shirt is giving me a real feeling of deja vu.
I couldn't find the app in Apple Store, the rhlstp suggestion came up but the app dint appear.
Thanks Richard and Robert.
Love Robert Webb so much. Cant wait to get his book (When I get paid lol)
It's really good. So different from other celeb-bios.
Watching this 7 monthes later... did you get that book yet?

I would too, but I wouldn't mind seeing him do Vic & Bob together with a weeks break in between.
I'm glad you got your wish, twice
Haven't watched yet but I can imagine this is going to be brilliant. Somerset boy in Hong Kong. Cheers Rich!

It's a definite no from Chris Morris, I'm afraid.

Love hearing about Bros now after seeing the Documentary, what did you think of the Doc Richard??
The stuff about posters is fascinating! 2 colours, you say?....

Great stuff, for my money this is a "classic" RHLSTP....but it needs a Tim form the Office in it
And Gareth
The Doctor WHO not being written by God comment is one of the most meta things I have ever heard...my mind is completely fucked
You were amazing with Euan McGregor on a motorcycle

That’s it horse!!!

The green faced lady died in June of this year.
Great RHLSTP (rhlstp) ! Also the Rob Webb's book is fucking great !
I enjoyed the optimism over Dr Who. Time makes fools of us all.
Lake Titicaca is a real lake in South America
My David 😭
Did they just imply that the Taj Mahal was built with bricks mortared with Dr Who spunk ….awesome!
Get Fatty Arbuckle on the show!
Civilization 2 was the best! I was hooked when I was about 4 and never looked back!
Civilization II is the best. Everything that comes after is trying too hard.
Woo Ellie Taylor!
Hey Rich, I just realized that your daughter's name is essentially 'bird fish'. Was that intentional on your part?
get charlie brooker confirmed!!
Yes! And ask him about writing for 'Oink!' as a teenager. What was Uncle Pig like as a boss?
No way. Brooker's annoying. He'd be a rubbish guest.

Civilization 3 better than 2.
