I am biased as I own an L322, but my god, that is seriously competent off road. No drama, just gets through. At times those boys look like they were driving up the drive to Windsor Castle not some sketchy byway!🤣
Defenders are pretty good SWB vehicles but that R/R didn’t it do amazing literally cruised around those tracks!! Big heavyweight was amazing!! 👌🏼 thanks for watching hope you enjoy the channel!..👍👍

@@ALL_4_WHEELS Yes, it was a tough part again, with narrow places. I don't know if there will be any new parts with this R/R (would love it! 🙂) , but I would give 90-95% chance, that it will cope with every challanges what the others will / would be able to complete. Not just (or not mainy) because it's supercharged, but because it is very capable by default and also the bodylift capability is a nice plus.
Can’t beat a Rangie, run a td6 myself used each day and down rough tracks for work and even in heavy snow etc never stuck just keep going. Would love a 4.2SC.
@@ALL_4_WHEELS had this one about 2 years, had a p38 before for about a year. The Td6 is a good motor, mines been great as a daily for work and family duty’s, including long trips, fuel is about 22mpg local and 30 on a run, reliability has been 100%, plenty of invoices for service before I got it and under my ownership, 1 gearbox service (due again soon) oil change every 6-7000 miles and full service yearly including diffs. It’s needed normal items like drop links, front lower arms and new battery (critical on them) they do go through suspension parts due to weight of them, not far off 3 ton. My advice is get one that’s been looked after, avoid ones covered in chrome and 22 inch wheels, look after it, parts are cheap and no labour if you do your own spannering. Then you’ll have a good vehicle, they get so much bad press mainly though people buy them and expect to run them like a fiesta or less then one problem leads to another then whole car is falling to bits. Weak point on td6s is the GM gearbox, if serviced is ok but keep £2000 for full rebuild to one side then it’s all good. Non are immune to gearbox failure but td6 are most common. If you go for later one avoid 3.6tdv8, great when it works but turbo failure is common, and costs a fortune to rectify, that’s if there’s no damage to the engine. 4.4tdv8 are good but holding value, that’s why my next will be 4.2sc, cheaper to buy and very reliable. Hope that helps.

@4x4 UK West Wales Laners They're the best. Can cruise in comfort and luxury at 100mph all day, then take a turn off road and tackle some extreme trails on standard tyres with ease. Only had one RR but would have another in a heartbeat!! The King!!
@paulreilly5987 Landcruisers whilst very capable and reliable lack the refinement, complete spectrum of abilities and prestige of a Range Rover. Great vehicles but not the choice for me.

The comfort, luxury and speed on the highway, with the capability to go literally anywhere is still mindblowing to me. I went to the 4x4Gradisca rally a few weeks ago, no additional adjustments required, just hop in and go. Btw: the transfer case is from Magna Steyr, the same like they put into the G-Class! And if you consider to buy one: a lot of things can be done by yourself, the parts are not so expensive (BMW). 3.6 TDV8 is a powerhouse with a modest consumption ~20mpg! Thx again! I need to come to UK once again, looks awesome and has been too long already! 👏👍

Really nice putting the RR in pace along side the deffenders and the nissan. Shows you how insanely capable they are. I think it could do well in the African wilderness if maintained well

I own 99 TD5 110 expedition defender and 2007 L322 4.2SC - and they are the best cars. I was also suprised by offroad capabilities of l322, but i thing underbody protection in this car is a must. In few first weeks of ownership i had to replace 5 or 6 radiators, blocks of ice got pushed to the radiators (i think there is radiator for every type of fluid in this car:) And also oil pan has plastic cover. I wish they made car with defender space for interior sleeping and camping and comfort of l322
He’s just had a one of whole underbody guard fabricated for the R/R and a good winch bumper Very capable vehicles glad your enjoying yours and using it too!! Enjoy the channel 👌👌
We are so lucky we are in the heart of laning territory!! Some really good tracks around! Nice to do the lesser known/used ones!! Bit tight at the start of the vid squeezing between those trees??😉 The Range Rover couldn’t fit haha!!
I love seeing the range rover do its stuff! I've got one but can't justify damaging it unnecessarily (again) at the moment. Hopefully if more people start using them, the cost of rock sliders and underbody protection will come down to in line with the discoveries etc. The tailgate on them makes it more useful than the disco 3/4 they're priced again, mine's been a brilliant tool for a pretend farmer like me. Hopefully soon I'll be able to justify the cost of some underbody protection and find a decent group of people to go out with.
Guided tours yeah they can be very expensive and don’t always get to drive the best lanes usually a set route.. We have trips once or twice a month , few lads take others out etc and just have fun that’s what it’s about! Hope you enjoy the vids and the channel! If the rangey didn't make it to the finish it's because it drank all its fuel. I had a diesel rr3, and the torsen centre diff Is a huge help. Very under rated vehicles.

Nice vid mate! Did not expect range rover would tackle all this with absolutely no drama at all. However, none of you gents don't know bolox about tire pressures, mate LOL. Not one single vehicle in this vid has the pressure dropped down for the offroad trails 😂. That's one reason why red defender is that bouncy and is sometimes struggling. Its tires are perfectly round on every terrain type 🤣🤣🤣. Other than this, keep up the good work! Great views you have there in Wales
When your out laning your usually constantly switching on and off tarmac throughout the day, so stopping to air up and down all the time isn't really practical. What I do is run a compromise pressure of 25psi in my 35 inch BFGs.

Along the A40 Past lllandeilo head towards cwmifor turn left off A40 follow upto cwmifor farm to cross roads pen-y-groes turn left and follow that towards penhill and that’s the ucr unclassified road
Goes to show how rubbish the pickup trucks are off road, poor suspension and no traction aides, too much overhang and way to long a wheelbase. Also, WTF happen at the 17min mark with the R reg 90 (ending OCD).Where they in High range or something????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not sure what happened with the 90 I think it was in high box,pick up trucks are not the best but if you’ve got a bigger enough lift so less overhang with bigger tyres should be fine as long as the drive shaft’s (cv’s) don’t snap! 👍

A L322 with decent AT’s or MT’s will outperform most vehicles, in controlled comfort too. The L322’s with a factory rear locker is almost unstoppable

I had no doubt the RR would do well, I have a 2010 3.6TDV8, they are capable and comfortable. Would be interested to know what tyres he has fitted.
I’ll find out what tyres he had..at a guess they were Renegade MT tyres didn’t it do well on the mixture of tracks??… 👍

I've said it before, a set of max trax or waffle boards would have made all the difference to the Navara. With the bonus of not chewing the track up.

I heard Range Rover superchargers got central and rear diff lock standard. So that’s why does it not struggle on any terrain???

It does have rear locker from factory the v8 but it just lock when needed.

Nice vid mate! Did not expect range rover would tackle all this with absolutely no drama at all. However, none of you gents don't know bolox about tire pressures, mate LOL. Not one single vehicle in this vid has the pressure dropped down for the offroad trails 😂. That's one reason why red defender is that bouncy and is sometimes struggling. Its tires are perfectly round on every terrain type 🤣🤣🤣. Other than this, keep up the good work! Great views you have there in Wales

When your out laning your usually constantly switching on and off tarmac throughout the day, so stopping to air up and down all the time isn't really practical. What I do is run a compromise pressure of 25psi in my 35 inch BFGs.

@@colinashby3775 I didn’t know navaras didn’t have difflock the later ones had traction control,unfortunately this one was auto,and no T/C or CDL but to be fair he did a good drive he was the first vehicle through that quarry section no one had been through for a while! Goes to show how rubbish the pickup trucks are off road, poor suspension and no traction aides, too much overhang and way to long a wheelbase. Also, WTF happen at the 17min mark with the R reg 90 (ending OCD).Where they in High range or something????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not sure what happened with the 90 I think it was in high box,pick up trucks are not the best but if you’ve got a bigger enough lift so less overhang with bigger tyres should be fine as long as the drive shaft’s (cv’s) don’t snap! 👍

The R/R is pretty much standard just mud terrain tyres and custom made rock sliders! It did really well against the modified 4x4’s don’t you think??

Defenders are so overrated. The Range Rover is the car to have. Range Rover for the men, Defenders for the 5 yr old boys.
