    I've now made other videos like this one, translating the Aurebesh in things like The Mandalorian and Bad Batch, you can check them out here: ua-cam.com/play/PLSPa_M8qYEyToCQ32ba3JcTlejmibPZp0.html

    I love when the UA-cam algos land me on proper nerds! With respect! Also respect to the set designers. None of this is by chance. A real human made these set props or some graphic artist made these. Imagine in the real world they got told to write 25 years but that got changed in post/ in the narrative. Soooooo cool! Thank you! Edit: wow Starboard Normal, Port Normal. Again people worked on this stuff. I love the detail to theatre.

      Thanks for your comment :D Yes, I love that they've put effort into details like these! And oh nice, that's what the things on the screen on Luthen's ship stand for! I figured it would be something like that but couldn't find out exactly what it would be!

    "TRKB" is likely short for "Tractor Beam". Thanks for all those translations; you've added a further layer of depth to an already fantastically nuanced show. All the best.

    I'm pretty sure the first line of Nemik's manifesto says "Control is..." instead of "Control it!", it would definitively make sense with the rest of the sentence.
    Also the fact that the plates with the sentences don't add up with the dialogue in the scene could be explained through the judge making up the sentence as they are presented with the convict, from which it takes a bit until the plate is printed and then signed by the judge, so the names of the plates are people proscecuted a little before Cassian, and his sentence will then be on one of the next plates while someone else again is being proscecuted. I hope this wasn't too confusing.

      You're probably right! I struggled a bit with that one, your version definietly seems more logical

    Hi Avela, I've got a quick question for you. I was noticing a set of numerals, or at least a cool numeral font, at use in Andor that I hadn't noticed before in the SW universe (but it could already certainly exist out there and I just didn't catch it). In your video, at 1:52, where the screen says "Insert credits", at 4:01, where we see the bar code tattoo, and at about 5:00 where we see the sentencing documents, the numbers are pretty much readable as slightly stylized regular Arabic numerals. Also, in the prison where there are many shots of cell numbers, etc. I am pretty interested in this font, even though it is not as mysterious as Aurebesh -- and it doesn't line up with the Aurebesh numerals that I've found online, including in the first few seconds of your video. What do you think?

    • @allenpeterson7747
      @allenpeterson7747 Рік тому

      P.S. That question is certainly not meant as any kind of criticism, I am asking because it is clear to me that you are very knowledgeable about Aurebesh!

    • @iron.hearts
      @iron.hearts  Рік тому +1

      @@allenpeterson7747 Good question! And thank you for watching the video! 😊
      The numbers are actually also part of Aurebesh, there's a few different ways of writing numerals with the Aurebesh alphabet and what we see in Andor is the most common one (at least nowadays). The numerals are not always included in the Aurebesh translation sheets because as you said, they are pretty much just stylized Arabic numerals. But if you look up the Aurebesh alphabet on Google you should be able to find sheets with the numerals included as well!
      Hope this was helpful! 😁

    • @allenpeterson7747
      @allenpeterson7747 Рік тому

      @@iron.hearts thank you so much for the information! OH i see the numbers on some charts now -- the first time I Googled "Aurebesh numerals", I kept getting charts that only showed the system of dots, which is really hard to read. And that is why I was confused. Thank you for the explanation!

    The show is not filmed to SHOW you clear shots of a made up language that only 10 people on planet earth can understand lol It's only there to build the LORE of the sow. We don't need to see the words, they're really NOT that important. The cinematography is actually great with the show.

      She was talking about the quality of the streaming on disney plus being bad (which it is)! That has nothing to do with what she thinks of the cinematogrophy my guy. And its not like she demands every aurebesh word to be clearly visable. She is interested in these details! So stop belittling her because she is sharing her interest and love for Star Wars with anyone who is interested in these details!

      Aurebesh is not a language it is just another Alphabet That replaces the English alphabet and you should not think that there are only 10 people that can read it.
