    --------------------
CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATRE is a radio drama series created and directed by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982. Later in the early 2000s the show was repeated by the NPR satellite feed.
The format was similar to that of classic old time radio shows like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler, in that the episodes were introduced by host E. G. Marshall who provided pithy wisdom and commentary throughout. Unlike the hosts of those earlier programs, Marshall is fully mortal, merely someone whose heightened insight and erudition plunge the listener into the world of the macabre.
CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATRE was broadcast each weeknight, at first with a new program each night. Later in the run, three or four episodes were new originals each week, and the remainder repeats. There were 1,399 original episodes.

Spellbinders of Suspense, thank you so much for this upload! I listened to RMT as a kid. All were my favorite RMT tales except the one about the treasure of jewels.

And later, after Mr. Farrar was killed, his wife remarried....neighbor Paul, of course. Lived something akin to this, firsthand. This entire episode was fantastic.

I've recorded several utterances by the now infamous 'cat'. I've successfully employed these audio bites of the cat in warding off folks at the grocery store, post office and the public library. I haven't had to speak a word outside in 72 hours. I've never seen my town approval ratings plummet as they have these past few days. Personal happiness index, however, is positively soaring.

MEEOOWWWW. What person on the production team thought that awful cat screeching sounded like a good idea? First, I turned the volume down. Then I stopped it altogether. This is nothing against this YT channel. I'm a subscriber and will continue to be. Just this one episode was a 👎.
