In this episode, Dr. Watson tells us about the time Scotland Yard called on Sherlock Holmes to catch The Hampton Heath Killer. A clue found on the killer’s knife leads Holmes to disguise himself as Dr. Watson and investigate the wax museum.

In this episode, Dr. Watson tells us a story that takes place during the time Holmes was believed dead following an entanglement with Moriarty at Reichenbach Falls. Holmes, posing as Sigerson the Norwegian explorer, is trekking through the Himalayas when a deadly blizzard strikes!
33. (1:02:34) “The Adventure of the Pigeon Feathers” - Starring: Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Harry Bartell (announcer) - January 21, 1946.
In this episode, Dr. Watson tells us a story interesting story involving Sherlock’s Holmes’ brother Mycroft Holmes, his landlady Mrs. Hudson, and a man she believes turns into a bird! Mycroft gets Sherlock involved by sending him an anonymous letter stating he should stay away from the case at all costs!
34. (1:33:04) “The Strange Case of the Demon Barber” - Starring: Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Harry Bartell (announcer) - January 28, 1946.
In this episode, the story unfolds as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are attending a performance of Sweeny Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. While waiting for the play’s final act, Holmes receives a note that states all of London may be in danger!
35. (2:04:51) “The Guileless Gypsy” - Starring: Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Harry Bartell (announcer) - February 11, 1946.
In this episode, Dr. Watson tells us an intriguing tale involving gypsies and the kidnapping of a young boy who is heir to a fortune.

The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is a radio drama series which aired in the USA from 1939 to 1950. The show ran for 374 episodes, with many episodes now considered lost media. The series was based on the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and was billed in different listings under various titles including Sherlock Holmes, and Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. The most popularly remembered title is The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
For most of the show’s run, the program starred Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson, together they starred in 220 episodes. Other actors played Holmes and Watson in later seasons. The show first aired on the NBC Blue Network but later moved to the Mutual Broadcasting System. The program aired on ABC instead of Mutual for its sixth and ninth seasons.
From 1939 until 1943, episodes were adapted or written by Edith Meiser who had written the earlier series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes which aired from 1930 to 1935. From 1943 onward, most episodes were written by the team of Denis Green and Anthony Boucher with some early episodes written by Green and Leslie Charteris. Edith Meiser returned to write for the show for its seventh season. Max Ehrlich and Howard Merrill wrote the episodes of season 8. Denis Green returned as a writer for the final season.

WOW that ad's pronunciation of Sauternes is really bad. Also I haven't seen a Sauternes on the shelf in decades. Sauternes is a fancy name for blended white table wine these days.
That is a perfectly acceptable pronunciation of the wine. If he wanted to attempt the French R he could. However, it is not necessary to attempt it. But some people say worsh for wash and that drives me nut! We all have our pet peeves.
Too many commercials, can’t listen while falling asleep. And lieutenant Lastrad is horrible.
