Man sentenced to 14 years in prison for 2020 murder within Seattle's CHOP zone

- The man who pleaded guilty to shooting and killing 19-year-old Horace Lorenzo Anderson near Seattle's former "CHOP" protest zone in June 2020 was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Friday afternoon.
Marcel Long pleaded guilty in May to the second-degree murder of Anderson.
According to charging documents, Long was seen on surveillance video approaching Anderson and pulling out a gun. He is then seen chasing Anderson - who ran away - and appears to shoot him.

What a travesty of justice. He'll do it again. 14 years, that's embarrassing to everyone, especially the judge.

There was no justice for the victim of this crime I've seen drug dealers get more time than this he should be getting 30 years minimum for chasing someone down and shooting them.

There is no need for black, because the murderer was charged and sentence. BLM involves themselves when unarmed blacks are gunned down by police and they are not harged for murder. I hope you now understand the difference.

@@40acresandatractor Maybe you were sleeping. The CHOP zone was a no-go zone for police, because of threats of continued violence and the number of officers required to make entry into CHOP would have made the city "Leaders" angry. You get what you vote for!

Why the courts allow this type of freak show to take place? 20 family members asking a dude who can’t answer back as to “ why “ he killed? This is so stupid. Also are these people allowed to show up in court in shorts and flippers ? The “sweet” deceased “victim “ is in heaven probably feeling ashamed of his family.
No sense of decorum in respect of the place and situation. Victim-impact statements are just a way to waste more time in a time-stressed legal system. A killer doesn't care about your sense of rage or loss, and are just as pointless as Balloon Releases.
They want to ask why and face the person who murdered their kin. It’s really not that complicated
@@mickeyeac7171 You are right about that. With such a simple question, specially 2 years after the fact, there is no need for 2.5 hrs of a freak show to convey the question. The victim's. mother went as far as striping her clothe off in the courtroom so she thought that would help her to make the question across. These people are disgusting. This type of behavior shall not be allowed in the court of law. Period.
How are they going to sentence this man when everyone who went to CHOP knew it was a place of lawlessness and anything goes. The young man who died rolled the dice and apparently the CHOP spit him out, but he knew the rules, no police.
