I normally hate it when in various TV/Movie adaptations they change so much of the plot, but now that you've pointed it out, I think I like the animated version better, I never realized how convoluted the original book was :=). Guess I'll have to dust off my copy and read it and see if I can spot the difference :=)
I prefer the animated version, it's more focused and didn't rely on a deus ex machina to have Tintin escape the bad guys' grasp.. BTW, you should do WAY MORE of this, I love this as a Tintin fan.
Yeah, but the animated version lacks a lot of funny scenes, like Tintin getting drunk and praising the dictator for instance, or the multiple assassination attempts.
@@AlkisenSuperonestly I don’t mind them taking out a few funny scenes in favour of staying as close to the plot and making a more focused narrative as possible. Not saying I didn’t enjoy said funny moments In the comic which had me In stitches.
Honestly I’m surprised TinTin In The Congo is still sold, I remember even when I was a kid and would buy a new Tintin book every time I went to Waterstones my parents refused to let me get it because of how racist it was
One thing I never got in this story General Alcazar ends up hating Tintin but whenever he shows up in later books he greets him as an old friend and is very friendly towards him
You're talking about General Alcazar. That's why I also prefer the animated version, that moment is non-existent in that, which is more preferable in hindsight.
Yeah not one of my Favorites. It lacks the outragious Insensitivity of the first tri, for the most Part, but is very boring, whit Tintin just running around, subpar Art, the most interesting Stuff happens ofscreen, and Mysterys getting unraveled by just Infodumps. Its a Shame, because the Idea and Setting had Potencial.

@@robbiewalker2831 Oh yes, agreed, but sometimes adaptations go too far and change so much that it has little to no resemblance to the source material

The first one, maybe, yeah, but the second one wasn't that funny, IMO, and felt like filler.

"Let's see if we can *spot* the differences." Yes. We must.
One of my favorite Tintin albums.
I can see why Nelvana didn't want to put Tintin in blackface. Also why they never tried to adapt Tintin in the Congo. Yeesh.
For a lot of reason

Thanks I’ll edit it yeah that element always confused me how one moment he’s his enemy and a traitor but then the next he’s an old friend
Which version of the story do you like?
I dunno Broken Ear is one of like 4 Tintin books I never brought and I only watched the episode like once I prefer the Haddock and Calculus episodes
Maybe he read the whole Story on Newspapers and realized his Mistake, or something but it sould have been aknowledged.
This was the first tintin book i read
Love it
I love your videos.
I prefer the TV adaption.
Best tintin
wtf I didnt know Tintin had an anime!!!
Tintin got drunk? I thought he was a kid!
steamerthesteamtrain reporters aren’t usually kids. Plus why would he live by himself if he’s a kid
Well I never actually read Tintin, I only went over a few pages. To me the character looks like a kid or a teenager at least.
He’s never been given a clear age he’s described as a boy usually or a young man so I’d say in his super late teens or his early 20’s
Do Stepney the bluebell engine (BOOK VS TV EPISODE)
it's called being racist, not "politicly incorrect"
IKR
why not just call it what it is?
And what does "politically incorrect" even mean? It's very annoying.....
