For the 2011 movie I like the idea that Sakharine and Red Rackham were related. When I first red the comic it never clicked that they both had very similar designs. But now that I’ve gone through it several times I always get a kick out of it
Something to mention. G Bird was named Gustave in the adaptation, giving more of a distinction between the two Bird Brothers. Also, in the 2011 movie, the Bird Brothers do cameo in the background as some of Hergé’s portraits in the beginning. But ironically play a much bigger role in the video game of said movie indicating that they were possibly in an early draft of the film before changes were made.
I had virtually all the _Tintin_ books growing up (handed down from my cousins) except _Secret of the Unicorn_ and a couple of others. I didn't actually see the story - or at least, part of it - until I saw the 2011 film, which I still greatly enjoy today. Pity there was never a sequel. Another thing we can blame the _Hobbit_ movies for. 😆
Love these books and the TV series when I was younger and still do. Can the next one you do be an Asterix book. Perhaps Asterix and Cleopatra both in Movie and book form?
I think Tintin saying "I didn't bring it" to Haddack in the adaptation was him being a smart ass for dragging him out of the apartment without him being allowed to say anything but because of it being acted terribly by Colin O'Meara, it's very unclear. If that scene was in the 2011 film, then I think that it would have been made more obvious by Jamie Bell's acting that he was being sarcastic instead of mentally slow like Colin displayed in saying that line of dialogue.
Haddock's supposed to be an alcoholic, yet the TV adaptations crop out as much of the drinking as possible. I'll give the 2011 movie credit despite all its faults, at least Haddock's affliction was allowed to be shown in its full extent.
Gave up on the Belvision comparisons? (Also, they named the other brother Gustav in the 1990s TV show, Tintin discovers their names on a letter while he is attempting to phone Haddock from Marlinspike.)
0:01 I've Might Go And Buy The Comic Book Of The Adventures Of TinTin In The Secret Of The Unicorn From The Tintin Shop In London In England In The United Kingdom This Christmas. Wish Me Luck. Thanks Mate. X
nice video of this very important album of the series, but there is one thing i tought of and missed here. i remember that the animated version starts by presenting the pick pocket clipping out stuff from the newspapers and laugh mysteriously when seeing a picture of the thompsons. scene 2 is from the market, wich is where the story starts. was this something you forgot or chose to overlook? kind greetings a great tintin fan.

I find it funny how in the comic, Tintin constantly mistook Sakharine for a bad guy. Meanwhile, in Spielberg's movie, he really IS a bad guy!
When I was a 10 year old girl in 2001, I loved playing as a boy like Tintin does when I’m watching an every single recorded VHS tape on TV!
5:48 This wasn't the only time Nelvana snuck violence into a cartoon adaptation of a book series *cough* Redwall *cough*
Lovely content
This is my absolute favourite Tintin comicbook combined with Red Rackhams treasure!

They took it was more seriously in the movie too
Always a pleasure to see one these-good work!
It's been so long since we’ve seen you cover changes in Tintin.

Great overview as usual
