I was taught in my 12th grade government class (and frankly in my 8th grade civics class) that it was my job as a citizen to remain informed about these people and that when I vote, I have a duty to know the ideas of the candidates from which I'm choosing. I often don't vote for local races because I simply don't know either of the candidates' positions and am not qualified to make a choice.

Raise the voting age to 25. Require that the voter pass a 5 question test similar to citizenship questions and no voting if you are receiving welfare of any kind.

My husband served in the Army, used his GI Bill to become a certified welder, and his employer paid for a four year electrician apprenticeship, which he graduated from in October 2021. Plus, graduated a Supervisory Training course in the process, to run jobs. As a certified welder and licensed electrician, he often is looked down on as he actually works and it shows. And while we are NOT flashy, he probably earns more than snobs who hate manual labor.

So happy my children are growing up in our intact family, together 19 years- married happily for 17 of those ... They are urged to go for skilled trades, rather than useless university degrees. My husband served in the Army, used his GI Bill to become a certified welder, and his employer paid for a four year electrician apprenticeship, which he graduated from in October 2021. Plus, graduated a Supervisory Training course in the process, to run jobs. As a certified welder and licensed electrician, he often is looked down on as he actually works and it shows. And while we are NOT flashy, he probably earns more than snobs who hate manual labor.
