Correction: Kalusha Bwalya is still very much alive. He's the only surviving member of the 1993 team because he was playing in the Netherlands for PSV at the time and didn't fly with the rest of the team from Zambia. Nowadays he mostly does a bunch of pundit work and is still very involved in developing and promoting Zambian football. Also, it's "Chipolopolo", not "Chipololopolo" (you added an extra "lo") 😅 Otherwise, great video as always!
@@aminadabbrulle8252 It's very likely for them to continue even after the last (current) UN-nation. What an amazing journey, i started watching your videos since the Moroccan episode, to see you almost at the end it's a special feeling, well done Barbs.
Great video Barbs! But, unfortunately, there are some inaccurate portions that seemed to have made their way into the video. Below are a few that I spotted: 📌2:51 - The demarcation shown on the map between the Muchinga and Eastern Provinces is outdated. 📌 16:23 - Unfortunately, the Kwacha notes shown here are outdated by over ten years. 📌23:21 - Kalusha Bwalya did not perish in a plane crush and is still very much alive and in good health. 📌 23:38 - It is not pronounced as "Chipololopolo" or even "Shepololopolo" but rather "Chipolopolo" and "Shepolopolo", respectively (minus one "lo"; still a mouthful, I know - but it means a lot in our collective culture). 📌 25:46 - "Lobola" is not paid to the bride but rather to her family. The name is also different from one ethnic group to another, with the more common term (at least in my personal opinion) being "nsalam" or "insalam" (I stand to be corrected). These are only a few of quite a number of inconsistencies made in this video. Regardless, I personally believe that they are honest mistakes. Zambia is not a very well known country and it is very much understandable for a UA-camr of your calibre to have had errored here and there. There are no hard feelings on my end; I just felt that I should bring this to your attention. Thank you for covering my country. Good luck as you cruise on to Zimbabwe, the FINAL country! (P.S. Sorry everyone for being "that" paragraph guy. 😬) Zambia kuchalo! ❤🇿🇲
As another viewer, I think most of us like “‘that’ paragraph guy” on this channel. These sorts of corrections can provide important context and contribute to an improved video quality.

All you need to do, is be yourself and the brotherly and sisterly love and care shall be showered all around you. God bless our country Zambia and her people. One Zambia 🇿🇲 one Nation ❤
Discovered Geography Now back in 2018 and when I realized the episodes were made in alphabetical order, I wondered if I'd ever watch the episode of my country, Zambia given all of life's uncertainties but I made it. It's been an honor
When the Afghanistan episode came out, I didn't even know what Geography Now was. I was about 6 or 7 years old, in 3rd grade. And now, nearly a decade later, here I am - 16 years old, a UA-camr, a brother, a best friend, a boyfriend, a gamer, an anime fan, a writer. Definitely gonna miss this series after the Zimbabwe episode.
I am watching this show all the way from bhutan. I was in school at that time by this episode. Now I am graduated with masters. Phew such a long journey...
I love your channel. 23:0923:19 Kalusha Bwalya is very much alive. He was playing overseas at the time and was gonna join the team from a different location, so he was not on the plane that crashed.
Such a cool episode Barbs-my great-grandfather came out to Zambia in 1947 and my grandmother was born out there as well, our family have many memories of the Copperbelt region, so it’s great to finally see this episode out!
As many have already mentioned, Kalusha Bwalya was the number one player at the time, but wasn't on the flight. The substitute team was hurriedly built around him, and they nearly made it to the World Cup in USA in 1994 (which they certainly would have qualified for, if not for the disaster). Another blooper: you gave one too many syllables in "Chipolopolo". And delighted that Zamrock was not forgotten!
OMG, I remember the days in 2015 when I began watching this channel. Can't believe its been like 9-10 years. What a journey! All the best barbs, its truly unbelievable how we have summaries about almost all the countries in the World now on this channel.
Sounds like Zambia/Zimbabwe vis a vis Mosi oa Tunya is like Canada/US vis a vis Niagara Falls. The US likes to market Niagara Falls as one of their natural wonders - I’ve seen Horsehoe Falls in American travel guides! - but we have most of the falls including Horsehoe! (I mean America you have a lot of stunning natural wonders on your own! I’ve been to your country a lot and love the scenery, you don’t need to steal ours!)
I can't believe that i'm watching this channel for 9 years since "Afghanistan", now we are 2nd to last (only Zimbabwe left), but i guess this channel will never run out of content since Barby still can talk about culture, customs, or unique architecture from many countries.
I started Watching you a year ago ,I know I'm late but better late than never ,one country left ,thank you Barbs for all the efforts you did in the last 10 years ,this series will go down on history books
As a lover of Greece I really enjoyed your video about Greece and followed your channel ever since. Its great you continued doing your thing. Sad in a way you are in the endgame. Maybe re-do every country, but then visit each.
As a Hungarian I find it so hilarious and cool yall have a version of our sausages, I wonder how they ended up all the way in Zambia. Love from Kalocsa ❤❤❤
Hungarian sausage was such a big thing growing up! Like your chicken and chips in the west! In Zambia the first and most popular option is chips (fries- preferably fresh cut) and Hungarian sausage! It’s the spice.. I haven’t had sausage like it, I also live in the U.K. and often shop at the polish/ Eastern European stores, they sell sausage similar, but nothing like the one back home!
@@misscee6629 No girl! These are literally Hungarian sausages! The taste and spices is nothing like boerewors! That’s what makes them special. I’m guessing the meat or spice is native Hungarian.. it’s soo good my mouth is watering right now 😄😄
@missqt48 Sis, honey after posting I thought, Hungarian sausage? Think, think. And then it came to me. You're right, I' used to eat them loads as a kid growing up in Zambia. I'm an adult now and left when I was very young for the UK. I'm so glad I've remembered that buried memory. I'm gonna buy me some Hungarian sausages tomorrow

I actually can’t believe it, as a fan base we’ve literally come all this way and now it’s literally the 2nd last episode of the countries. I still can’t believe it, because I remember all those years ago when the first episode of this channel I watched was the Central African Republic.
Great job with this episode guys!!! I'm Zambian and I absolutely loved how you managed to captured so much (tip of the ice berg😅) of the beauty and culture of Zambia in such a short time really amazing.... The sports section was tragic though 🤣🤣🤣
@GeographyNow , That was an awesome video! I am sure a lot of research went into making this video seeing that you are not a Zambian Resident. Just a slight correction, Kalusha Bwalya is still alive and coached the Zambia National Football team from 2003-2006. Thanks for educating us about the Geography of the world. You deserve my like and Subscription.
Been to Zambia twice, it really is a beautiful, peaceful country. Random fact: "shoes" in Bemba language is "insapato", which sounds like the the Portuguese word for shoes "sapato" 👞
@@misscee6629 I read that Portugal interacted with Zambia in its earlier years (I don't remember what kind of interaction) so I guess there was some influence, one language borrowed from the other

As another viewer, I think most of us like “‘that’ paragraph guy” on this channel. These sorts of corrections can provide important context and contribute to an improved video quality.

Come to Zambia 🇿🇲 as a foreigner, you will not feel lost. You are going to be given your personal space and respect too. All you need to do, is be yourself and the brotherly and sisterly love and care shall be showered all around you. God bless our country Zambia and her people. One Zambia 🇿🇲 one Nation ❤
I have waited years for this episode. Great to see Zambia so accurately described
Discovered Geography Now back in 2018 and when I realized the episodes were made in alphabetical order, I wondered if I'd ever watch the episode of my country, Zambia given all of life's uncertainties but I made it. It's been an honor
That's so wholesome!!!
Phew such a long journey...
man I remember watching you when I was 11 and I am now 19. It's been a wild ride man. I am very grateful for your youtube channel.
I've been to Zambia many times, both holiday and for work. Super friendly people there, I always enjoy visiting the country.
Shoutout to Zambia from USA. Man i cant believe we at almost at the end of Geography Now
I love your channel. 23:09 23:19 Kalusha Bwalya is very much alive. He was playing overseas at the time and was gonna join the team from a different location, so he was not on the plane that crashed.
Tell them please 😭
Well said! They need to edit out that bit of the video to correct this inaccurate detail.
Such a cool episode Barbs-my great-grandfather came out to Zambia in 1947 and my grandmother was born out there as well, our family have many memories of the Copperbelt region, so it’s great to finally see this episode out!
🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
I was born in the cooperbelt. Left when I was 6
@misscee6629 really good to hear that, visit again I have lot for you.
1 COUNTRY LEFT.. CAN'T BELIEVE IT, BRO! YOU CAME A LOOOONG WAY ❤
Glad you’ve been a part of it Gussy boy ❤
@gus1thego, nice to see you here. And still going ❤
@@GeographyNowWe all have. 😌
@@GeographyNow Even though you prob won't reply, i might as well ask: What was your favourite country video to make?
Love Zambia
🇸🇪❤🇿🇲
Thanks 😊
I love your nation as well.
South African here - We also have Maheu/Mageu 😊 Always happy to learn about all the similarities in the Southern African regions!
Boerewors?
And those are the favorite imagine 😂
I recently went on my first international trip to the horn of Africa (specifically Kenya and Tanzania), and I must say, I'm so glad I watched these episodes before I left. 🎉🎉 Barbs, you are a genius mate.
Oh and I'm a South African ❤🇿🇦
I've been waiting for years for this. Dutch Zambian here!😄Kinda feels surreal haha!
That’s so cool! Glad you like it!
It feels so unreal that we’re reaching the end! It’s been a pleasure watching Geography Now throughout the years! Thank you. 🙏🏽

Hey Congratulations, Barbs, I have been watching your content since the Bhutan Episode, Love your Content, More Power to you
You are a legend man. I can't believe it will be the last episode. Love from Turkey
i subbed to you somewhere in between 400-450 subs. i dont know how old i was but i remember you had maybe 5 episodes out. watched them all. the progress on your channel is insane. its crazy to think i have been here almost the whole time!!great job barbs

I just graduated highschool and I've been watching since 6th grade..it's been quite the ride barb. I Loved this series, thank you for uploading this.
P.S. you uploaded this at 6am est for me lol
I actually can’t believe it, as a fan base we’ve literally come all this way and now it’s literally the 2nd last episode of the countries.
I still can’t believe it, because I remember all those years ago when the first episode of this channel I watched was the Central African Republic.
My first episode was Limberwisk, wasn’t even a real country 😂

There’s charcoal sold on Zambias highways by passing villages. People never steal it. It’s right at the roadside, even at night. Nobody steals😂😂
And if you get a bag and leave some money for it

I can't wait for the series finale of Geography Now! ZIMBABWE coming in October. I will be one of the first ones to see! You're the man!
I noticed this when I was in Spain. How so?
@@misscee6629 I read that Portugal interacted with Zambia in its earlier years (I don't remember what kind of interaction) so I guess there was some influence, one language borrowed from the other
Crime levels are low but oppression is high, so I don't think you understand peaceful
@@Sammie551oppression? Are you sure? Corruption exist yes and government is fighting it. Those who became billionaires over night are in court and forfeiting assets to the state. I do not believe that is oppression.
I'm Zambian. You've convinced me to learn Portuguese 😄
Kalusha Bwalya is still alive. Kalusha and Johnson Bwalya, Charles Musonda, Gibby Mbasela and Kenneth Malitoli did not travel on that plane
Kalusha Bwalya (Kalu) is very much alive and was once coach of Za.mbia National Team.
1 more episode, i’m so excited to watch this, thank you so much for making these videos 👏👏👏
