My kitten died last night and in her short life, she was fascinated whenever I played this song and it lulled her to sleep. I'm extremely heartbroken and this will always be her song.
Raj Rawal I swear all the great things coming out of Elon incl the epic Grant Gustin,is seriously making me consider making a career change and moving to the US just to enroll in a course like Musical Theatre at this Uni.Inspiring
omg that minor chord at 39 seconds....goosebumps!!! I am so obsessed with this cover. Coming form a choral backround, I want to find a group of great singers to sing this with.
Ive come back to this so many times over the years and I love it everytime!! A bunch of people have said this too but heres another to show you how much love we have for you and making this! Beautiful people with Beautiful voices, amazing vibration
You guys need to studio record more songs. It sounds incredible, whereas the live performances are hard to pick up the details of your voices. So so good
Can’t tell you how many times I have watched this over the years. It’s always best in a pitch black room with headphones maxed. I get chills every time at 3:07. Love it!
I’ve been listening to this version for years now. Always makes me teary eyed and gives me goosebumps. I love sharing it and reminding people it’s 100% vocals and seeing their response, so much talent. Such a beautiful pure cover.
abcthegreat1 I'm absolutely in love with Erica Whitacre, I sang sleep with my choir back in 2011. It's funny though because the arrangement was by Kyle Whitaker, different spelling but I still find it amusing.
This brought me to tears and made me want to be in a choir again so bad. Truly beautiful how music can move people. Cannot wait to hear more and will definetily be buying!
I’ve probably listened to this about a hundred times and get goosebumps every time. It is mind blowing how someone and make a simple pop song so complex and moving. And then they get a group of extremely talented people together and make absolute beauty. I JUST LOVE IT.
Abby Elmer Bat hinde kasama si kiefer sanchez underrated ba sya? For me in chorus 1.kefier kiefer sanchez (tnt boy) nailed it 2. Eumee - new version of song 3. Morisite- clearest version 4-9 the rest- hit the note Watch Kiefer kiefer sanchez nail version!
I performed this with my school’s choir for a competition! Unfortunately we didn’t get through to the final but we were very proud of ourselves! This is phenomenal!
I know there's a lot of negative commentary, constructive or otherwise but personally, being a part of a vocal group, I feel you guys did an amazing job! Everybody ALWAYS has scope for improvement but that doesn't mean you can't appreciate what's already there. It's easy for people to comment when half of them don't know a thing about arrangements and another few are just vigorous music fanatics without actually having much knowledge about it. I don't claim to know a lot but I do know how it feels to be a part of a splendid group that makes perfect overtones sometimes and are not so perfect at other times. I know the euphoric feeling of singing your lungs out. The chemistry of the group on stage that performs with so much cheer that it's infectious enough to get the crowd on their feet. The amount of work that goes into this whole thing. I think you guys are amazing and the lead vocals blended very well with the flow of the arrangement. I hope you guys become very famous in the nearest future. #HatersGonnaHate #KeepGrowing #LotsOfLove
Sheryl Suraj I so agree!! I may be biased (being a previous performance choir member from Burlington, NC), but I thought it was EXCELLENT!! Looking for more of your music now!!
I wrote "Sia a capella" and I had to go way too down to find you guys. This is an extraordinary performance. From the bottom of my heart, I thank and congratulate you, for this beautiful arrangement. Kudos!
The correct spelling is "a cappella", because singers of 'schola cantorum' during mass used to sing without instrumental accompainment, gathering together in a small chapel (italian: cappella) aside within the church building.
I got chills from 3:00 to the end, but mainly until 3:21. Being a member of drum corps for two years, a trumpet player for 9 years, and an arranger for 4 years, all I can see is a corps performing this as their ballad, 3:00 being the main impact. I hope y'all don't mind if I use this for an arrangement.
Govenaires did this in their ballad (and I was in it). It was awesome. ANd the brass pulled it off very well. If you want to see, our show is called Sherlock
You should check out the show I'm writing right now, a WIP has been posted on my other channel: Kersting Compositions. While you're there, you can check out my run through video of Le Reve with the rest of the Blue Stars. my POV, of course.
I absolutely adore this arrangement! I actually debuted my drag character with a performance to this. It was for a fundraiser for a recently passed friend's final expenses. It was so well received that I'm going to continue doing it. Many, MANY thank yous!
I'll be singing this version of this song with my chorus group (I sing the first verse) We're breaking it up into 4 female leads going ensemble, lead 1 on first verse, lead 2 on second, leads 1 & 2 on the pre-chorus lead 3 on the chorus, lead 4 on bridge, then 1,2,3 & 4 together for everything else including final chorus with the ensemble singing behind us. It sounds pretty food so far. We were all stunned by the original version and knew we wanted to replicate it. Thank you for putting out such an amazing cover
Applause for whoever arranged this. Such a beautiful interpretation. brought tears to my eyes and chills down my spine. Excellent execution from all those involved. Keep up the great work
If they could transfer more of how well they listen to each other with their studio work and apply it to their live performances, they'd be stupendous. Their intonation, balance, and timing are superb, here.
Her opting out at that 2:12 minute until 2:15 part is EXACTLY what was needed. That was beautiful hearing the background carry on the tune .....it's eery at the same time such a beautiful climactic moment! I've listened to this cover at least 50 times. The first big harmonies they strike at 0:35 start the waterfall of powerful chords. The use of heavy suspended 2nd and 4ths make this vocal piece very unique and give it a light and flowly feeling. The dyamics in this piece are on point! Also the use of the deep bass harmonies give an old temple monk feeling which gives authority to the song and added power to Abby's solo vocals. She' I don't think this piece could have been arranged any better. Kudos to the whole team.
ATTENTION: There's a live version of this on their channel. It doesn't make sense to come on the studio version saying you want it live when it's under this video when you search it.
Kyle Whitaker, I thought your arrangement of Twisted Measure's Set Fire to the Rain was genius, but this arrangement just verifies my thinking!! You are GENIUS!! I am so proud of you all and glad that I attended every performance for 4 years straight!! I knew the secret and witnessed the magic first hand!! OMG!! This is phenomenal!!
Coming from a music background myself - when I found this rendition of the song - I had goosebumps all the way through! All voices complement each other & i am so impressed. I listen to this song all the time with headphones on of course!! Fantastic job!!!! 😊
This is such a great cover! The blending, the chemistry with your voices! I'm blown away! Singing is my life, a Capella inspires me. This is an inspiration to all singers worldwide. I'm from North Carolina, I'm so proud of this cover. It gives me goosebumps, and I love great music, like your cover. it's straight up amazing.
No words for how good this is. The female lead is outstanding. The voice of an angel & so emotive & powerful. Actually all the voices are superb & compliment each other. Bravo! 👏 👏👏
I'm not kidding when I say I watch this everyday. I found this video when it had a mere 100,000 views and still enjoy it now as much as I did the first time I heard this. My stepdad owns a recording studio in Winston Salem and he's blown away by the Wake Forest accapella group...imagine if he heard you guys! Please contact him! His name is Evan Richey at Ovation Sounds Studio
I can't listen to this enough. Arranger is a nothing short of brilliant. Performers are not only spot on but are genuine and unassuming. Song delivered clearly and with such passion. Dynamics are captivating and add tons to the song's meanings. Well done to the group and the recording studio. Twist more measures please.
I am addicted to this song even more than I was when I first heard the original! Very well done and arranged perfectly. I get chills every time I listen to it and then, The tears flow. Thank You for this
This is still one of the most beautiful arrangements of music I've ever heard. Their voices all blend so well together. I pray that's what heaven will sound like
I completely agree. This work was better served without a beatbox. But I rather enjoy the beatboxing in most performances. BYU Noteworthy's beatbox girl (Sarah) is flat-out amazing.
This is officialy my all time favorite video from youtube... aaaaaannd I am in love for the lead singer. The way she smiles while sing, and the way she opens her arms....ahhhhhh damit plato and his love.
Let me apologize in advance for what will be a lengthy comment and get right to the tl;dr: Brilliant Masterpiece! It's easy to appreciate the impact this inspired arrangement has on the finished product. With the bold use of open space and transitions between delicate nuance and power throughout the perpetual build, it's simply captivating. And the featured vocalist brought just the right amount of personality to her performance. What is often overlooked in the support. The ensemble voices displayed impeccable intonation and alluring timbre, providing strong shoulders upon which Ms Franklin stood. The recordist and engineer did a marvelous job of capturing, gently sweetening, and balancing the individual tracks. It seems to me, this is a classic case of the aggregate being even greater than the sum of its individual parts. I should imagine Ms Furler would be immensely pleased by what has been done with her original work. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the ending. It feels finished. But wonder if it might be even more haunting if the featured vocalist had held the penultimate note (the E) rather than resolving down a half-step? Or am I just a bit too weird?
How do I express how your music impacts me- resonates in my soul, reduces me to tears of inspiration and awe. Missing the music my son Colin brought with him when he left this past Sept. (for Elon), I will say that I have Chandelier by Twisted Measure saved on my desktop and listen to this multiple times daily. Every time I hear your music, I feel renewed and at peace. What beautiful music comes out of all of you individually and collectively. I wish I had stronger words to describe the healing, soothing power your music has had on me. Colin sang a cappella and often had his high school group here for rehearsal. He was also playing an instrument and/or singing so the loss of that (and him in general) has been tough. I feel closer to him as I listen to you. Hope he doesn't read this- he'll be annoyed by this personal and emotional post (as are all my kids when I post anything heartfelt). I felt compelled to say, "thank you for providing me with your gifts as they are precious and invaluable" God bless you guys. Nancy Tauck
Each time I watch this it affects me more deeply. The sound is pristine, rich yet haunting, intensely thorough vocal harmonies, flawless execution. That alone gives me chills, but I think what hits me the hardest is the intentional tension of that beauty and perfection against the subject of the lyrics, of a life in a state that is anything but perfect, trying to put a brave face on so much brokenness. I've never bothered to buy any music from iTunes before; this is now my first.
The MOST wonderful and touching A cappella song I have heard for a long time - I have known it for years and return regularly to this. It has healing Powers!
I'm a high school choir teacher and my jazz choir did this arrangement for our fall concert. It's tough to pull off, but the kids loved and the audience went nuts for it!
Years later I’m still coming back to this cover. Whoever arranged it is truly a genius and these people are hella talented!
Literally!!!!
Amazing performance!!!
This is better than the original - hands down, no contest. I’m sorry, Sia....you’re a super- close second 😬
I was just coming to say the exact same thing!
YUP
My kitten died last night and in her short life, she was fascinated whenever I played this song and it lulled her to sleep. I'm extremely heartbroken and this will always be her song.

May she rest in peace
my god, this is incredible, proud alum, move to LA, all of you!

also, that tension at the end......LOVE IT.
Jenifer Swanson It's not a minor chord, yet it still inspires gooesbumps!
It's not minor, what is it? Sounds minor to me, but I've been known to mistake chords one for another.
It is minor. :)
I thought so... I've taken enough theory to know what a minor chord sounds like...also, it's a deceptive cadence, no?
Ive come back to this so many times over the years and I love it everytime!! A bunch of people have said this too but heres another to show you how much love we have for you and making this! Beautiful people with Beautiful voices, amazing vibration
You guys need to studio record more songs. It sounds incredible, whereas the live performances are hard to pick up the details of your voices. So so good
Jen Artrip they have a few albums on iTunes if you're looking for more studio performances! :)
Jen Artrip Completely agree with this statement. You're live performances don't anywhere capture your amazing voices.
Can’t tell you how many times I have watched this over the years. It’s always best in a pitch black room with headphones maxed. I get chills every time at 3:07. Love it!
You're not wrong. Thanks for the idea, and yeah, when she hits that note and the room is pitch black, it just hits different
This is the most beautiful a cappella song I've ever heard.
I’ve been listening to this version for years now. Always makes me teary eyed and gives me goosebumps. I love sharing it and reminding people it’s 100% vocals and seeing their response, so much talent. Such a beautiful pure cover.
Really awesome! Composition has sort of an Eric Whitacre feel to it. Really well executed!
I completely agree. I'm glad someone else feels the same way. Chills running down my spine for both.
abcthegreat1 Absolutely, that's the first thing I thought of.
abcthegreat1 Was thinking the same thing!
I love Eric Whitacre!
abcthegreat1 I'm absolutely in love with Erica Whitacre, I sang sleep with my choir back in 2011. It's funny though because the arrangement was by Kyle Whitaker, different spelling but I still find it amusing.
Probably the most beautiful thing I've ever heard
Mind BLOWN. Phenomenal all around. That arrangement though. And executed perfectly. Incredible.
No kidding!!
i don't understand why some people would dislike this
I like it 👏😍👍

if you search "chandelier slow acapella" it's the second result
Thanks. That's very specific though
Plus, most people don't spell "a capella" correctly at any rate. :P
The correct spelling is "a cappella", because singers of 'schola cantorum' during mass used to sing without instrumental accompainment, gathering together in a small chapel (italian: cappella) aside within the church building.

My marching band made THIS arrangement our ballad in my show this year
Bradee Isbell I would LOVE to hear it. I looked on here but can't find it.
Skinny Jimmy Gaming We're adapting this version for our ballad this year, with some killer woodwind/pit runs and stuff... :)
I absolutely adore this arrangement! I actually debuted my drag character with a performance to this. It was for a fundraiser for a recently passed friend's final expenses. It was so well received that I'm going to continue doing it. Many, MANY thank yous!
Goosebumps.

Is it possible for something to stay this perfect every time you watch it?
I've been OBSESSED w/ this cover for the past year and a half. 😍😍😍😍
i couldn't agree more. If I need inspiration......I visit this

Chills and tears every time! Props to your bass and soloist especially
Applause for whoever arranged this. Such a beautiful interpretation. brought tears to my eyes and chills down my spine. Excellent execution from all those involved. Keep up the great work

The dissonance at 3:58 is magical.

Being in choir for 6 years, i can say that this is an amazing arrangement. I get goosebumps each time!
To anyone that captured that final expression of victory from the soloist.... Perfect Beauty. Tears every time.

Wow! First time I've ever actually understood every word from this song.
Beautifully done!
This was the deciding factor as to where I wanted to go to college. Amazing video
Five years later, I found this masterpiece once again.
3:44 - Quite possibly the best wailing I've heard in my life. Love it!
The most beautiful cover I've ever heard.
4 years later and this still gives me the same chills I had when I first listened to this
This is one of the most beautiful things that I've ever heard.
I'm absolutely in live with this cover. It gives me the goosebumps at 3:10. That perfect pitch!
Me too, I absolutely love the part at 0:00 - 4:13!

No words for how good this is. The female lead is outstanding. The voice of an angel & so emotive & powerful. Actually all the voices are superb & compliment each other. Bravo! 👏 👏👏
I watched this video over and over again. I love all of you guys voices. This is truly amazing. I wish I was in a group
The talent of each of you combined is what has gotten you to where you are. Never lose sight of that.
Honestly with you guys singing I feel like im in heaven....honestly. This is real music. It comes from the heart 💙

Dynamics are captivating and add tons to the song's meanings. Well done to the group and the recording studio. Twist more measures please.
I still always come back to this cover. The baritones with the altos every time gives me the mind blown vibes
Chills. Every time.
I can't stop listening to this version; It's got SO MUCH emotion and feeling behind it!
This is the best A Capella I've ever heard, of any song, EVER.
I can't breathe after this, guys!

You were absolutely outstanding here!
I never heard nothing so damn magical like this version!
will forever be one of my favorite covers. so beautifully made
I am addicted to this song even more than I was when I first heard the original! Very well done and arranged perfectly. I get chills every time I listen to it and then, The tears flow. Thank You for this
This is still one of the most beautiful arrangements of music I've ever heard. Their voices all blend so well together. I pray that's what heaven will sound like
So glad there was no beatboxing in this like 90% of a cappella groups do
I completely agree. This work was better served without a beatbox. But I rather enjoy the beatboxing in most performances. BYU Noteworthy's beatbox girl (Sarah) is flat-out amazing.
i agree, as the co acapella beatboxer. somethings juts don’t need it
This needs no beatbox. The dynamics moves the song
This is officialy my all time favorite video from youtube... aaaaaannd I am in love for the lead singer. The way she smiles while sing, and the way she opens her arms....ahhhhhh damit plato and his love.
Really enjoyed this a cappella. Always love it when the lyrics are crystal clear. Seeing it in slow motion! Great blend of voices!
I cried through this whole song, the voices are so beautiful together.
The entire time from 3:00 on, especially 3:46, I got goosebumps. I love this cover so much!
It's amazing what a studio can do... Listen to the live version of this choir singing this. Different story.
Upload more studio recordings!!! Ya'll rock.
Quite simply the greatest cover I have ever heard in my life.
Let me apologize in advance for what will be a lengthy comment and get right to the tl;dr:

Colin sang a cappella and often had his high school group here for rehearsal. He was also playing an instrument and/or singing so the loss of that (and him in general) has been tough. I feel closer to him as I listen to you. Hope he doesn't read this- he'll be annoyed by this personal and emotional post (as are all my kids when I post anything heartfelt). I felt compelled to say, "thank you for providing me with your gifts as they are precious and invaluable" God bless you guys. Nancy Tauck
Thank you for your kind words, love, and support. It's so touching reading how this has impacted you!
This has got to be the best acapella version of any song ever
this sent chills down my spine
Each time I watch this it affects me more deeply. The sound is pristine, rich yet haunting, intensely thorough vocal harmonies, flawless execution. That alone gives me chills, but I think what hits me the hardest is the intentional tension of that beauty and perfection against the subject of the lyrics, of a life in a state that is anything but perfect, trying to put a brave face on so much brokenness. I've never bothered to buy any music from iTunes before; this is now my first.
The first video I watched in 2016!!!!!!💕💕💕💕💕
P.s This is every choir kid's dream. lol👍👍👍❤😍
+xoTAMMIExo that's awesome!
Yes! I'm in choir and it's like I WANNA DO THIS
This harmony literally makes me weep like a child
Incredible. Every single time.
Why the hell am I just finding this now?
Absolutely beautiful. 💙
The MOST wonderful and touching A cappella song I have heard for a long time - I have known it for years and return regularly to this. It has healing Powers!
I absolutely love this so much. I watched it like a million times.
I'm a high school choir teacher and my jazz choir did this arrangement for our fall concert. It's tough to pull off, but the kids loved and the audience went nuts for it!
This is beautiful. Not a fan of most covers of Sia's songs because I prefer her, but this was serious ear candy. Well done ❤️
