I remember I tried only using "clean" products to treat my acne for years, and my acne got worse. Discovered Paula's Choice and cerave and my skin is so much clearer
Hi Cassandra! I have been watching and learning from your videos for more than one year. I wanted to say that I had my own period of 'clean products' obsession, which I am thankfully done with. The 'clean' moisturizers, which were mostly sample size gifts were always so oily and heavy and not a good match for my oily-combo acne-prone skin. Watching your videos, among other things, taught me what to look for in products. I can't use most of the products you suggest, due to availability and pricing where I live, but I have taken your 'turn and learn' to heart, and decided accordingly. I have never used retinols or retinoinds, but I wanted to share my recent experience with you and this community. I have used oral contraception for more than 5 years very regularly, and I would have the occasional pimple once a month or so, but otherwise my skin was fairly good. I stopped taking them around march and my skin exploded and there was no product I could use that would stop my breakouts. I still have the hyperpigmentation in my cheeks and chin, currently treating it with diacetyl boldine serum. I wanted to and I got pregnant, which is why retinols were not an option until the first trimester was over. After the first trimester was over, my ob-gyn prescribed me prenatal multivitamins, which among others contains vitamin A, 4000 iu (max. daily amount is 10000 iu). (Side note here to Goop misinformation: vitamin A and its derivatives are dangerous before conceiving, and during the first trimester, since it can cause a malformation caused spina bifida in babies, and sometimes even miscarriage, but it is safe after the first trimester, as proved by the fact that I was prescribed one by the doctor. Other side note, I go to a university hospital and they take no chances with their patients at all.) About 2 weeks after i started using it I stopped getting breakouts, and went back to my occasional once a month easily taken care off pimple. I have a simple routine, gentle cleanser, a serum and a good moisturizer (cerave) and they make my skin feel really good and glowy. But my own personal experience regarding breakouts was that either hormonal contraception, or vitamin A, in my case taken in oral form for other purposes, actually cleared me up. That said, I think skin care is mighty important in other aspects. I love the texture of my skin and how healthy it looks and feels thanks to the routine I currently have.
Totally agree with this video. I love Paula’s Choice products. It is all I use in my routine ever since I discovered them about a year ago. I first bought them because I did a google search and came across one of their articles explaining how things work. I was convinced. I bought their products, which I find very affordable and good quality and they work! My skin has never been better.

I did always think it was very strange that doctors prescribe medicinal creams and ointments that are based on there ingredients if they’re so bad. Now I have sensitive skin and eczema and the best creams that work on my skin are the ones with mineral oil.
I love you!!! You’re so real and understand that all of us can not afford all the expensive skin care. I was wondering if you could do a video where you take say an expensive vitamin c and give cheaper but effective vitamin c’s that compare to each other. I would love to see that!!! ❤️🦋
I’m not that into the “all natural movement” cause mostly it’s nonsense and made just to sell, but for those whom are interested SIORIS is a grate choice
I’d love it if you could do a review on paulas choice peel that you mentioned. I just bought it because I can’t purchase the ordinary’s being from Canada. You’re either stuck having to risk purchasing a counterfeit product or spending more what makes the ordinary’s a good price. I hear derms prefer paulas too because it is more for sensitive skin in mind!
Natural isn't always better. I remember trying products from the yes to line and it irritated my skin. It might not be a "natural" product but the food ingredients it advertises it has do not bother me when eating them only when put on my skin.
I so agree. It took a long time to realise I have REALLY bad allergies and to take it seriously. So I have to be very careful with natural oils! Fragrance free has really helped.
I love how fired up you get about skincare. I'm the same with teeth and dental hygiene. I seriously learn so much from you. The great barrier reef is fucked from global warming and ocean acidification and pollution, not sunscreen 🤣 . I mean my government doesn't give a shit either way, but it's important to know the facts.
Some people might not like how she’s roasting them, but I love it! We need to know the truth. I never even tried their products, but I mean Gwyneth doesn’t use sunscreen on her face as she said…
Hi Cassandra, thank you for your educational and informative videos, they help me a lot to better understand the needs of my skin. And they make us understand that we do not need to spend an insane amount of money to give some tlc to our skin. I love animals and only use cruelty free products and I love the sea as well so I started using „reef friendly“ sun screen. Since you do not believe in the impact of chemical sun screens to the sea, animals and corals, did you look into different studies in detail? And if yes, can you do a video on it? Would be great to understand better why you think ingredients like Oxybenzone and Octynoxate do not damage reefs and animals. And btw there are more than enough studies on the impact of global warming on corals.
Lab muffin beauty science has an entire video on it. But tl;dr this was only tested by using huge amounts of octinoxate which is not in sunscreens. Also according marine biologists, on the top 200 things that causes coral bleaching, its at the last. The damage caused by chemical filters on marine life and coral reefs are negligible. Lab muffin beauty science explains it better.
@@carinaaja2741 Going back to Lab Muffin's myth busting videos, at least one theory is that in Hawaii at least, golf courses contribute to a lot more pollution than sunscreen but since they are money makers for Hawaii, easier to blame sunscreen.

I love you!!! You’re so real and understand that all of us can not afford all the expensive skin care. I was wondering if you could do a video where you take say an expensive vitamin c and give cheaper but effective vitamin c’s that compare to each other. I would love to see that!!! ❤️🦋
Omfg the "my name is Tiffany and my liver is located HERE!" gave me life and then done killed me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love how heated you get talking about products
God, the sass in this video is NEXT LEVEL. Love it!!
Cassandra, you went OFF in this video 😂 I love you❤❤❤
Sassy Cassy 🤣 I love love love her!!! Best part of the video is the voices!
YES GIRL! call them out, they are incredibly irresponsible for spreading such disinformation
I’m not that into the “all natural movement” cause mostly it’s nonsense and made just to sell, but for those whom are interested SIORIS is a grate choice
The “Goop talking about Sodium Hyaluronate” moment with the voice and the editing GOT ME LAUGHING girl
Sassy Cassy just gave me life. Waiting for more!!!
GWYNETH IS SHAKING IN HER BOOTS RN
This was brilliant! Loving sassy snarky Cassandra! 😂❤️
I guessed by the thumbnail that Gwyneth Paltrow said Paula's Choice's product is toxic and boy oh boy I'm here for the tea!!
Arsenic is also on the periodic table. I agree with lots of this but just because sulphur is on the periodic table doesn't mean it's safe.
Dr Dray has a video comparing the paula's choice and the ordinary peels.
The natural products always seem to have tons of citrus oils and essential oils, and they all give me rashes, breakouts, hives-fun times.
it warms my heart to see people talk shit about gwyneth paltrow
I love how fired up you get about skincare. I'm the same with teeth and dental hygiene. I seriously learn so much from you. The great barrier reef is fucked from global warming and ocean acidification and pollution, not sunscreen 🤣 . I mean my government doesn't give a shit either way, but it's important to know the facts.
Cassandra killed me with her passion 🤣
This video is gold. Thanks for this. Goop and the EWG is spreading a lot of mis-information, sad.
Cass, the queen of sass 😄 Loved this!
Some people might not like how she’s roasting them, but I love it! We need to know the truth. I never even tried their products, but I mean Gwyneth doesn’t use sunscreen on her face as she said…
Wow, she's sassy af. Loving it. 🥰
Lost it at 12:42 😂😂😂 god damn our girl is savage!!!! 😂😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
"We are not racist, we just don't cater to *them*" SIS
You’re sooo hilarious how you make fun of them, love it 🤣🤣🥰
I love how passionate u are!!! I've learned so much just from a few of your videos 😀 you are funny too! It's refreshing
Zazzy! Cassandra you looked beautiful in this blue dress!
@@jennycull1061 Thank you Jenny, will watch the video. Just wonder why Hawaii or Maldives ban such sun screen if these chemicals have no impact.
@@carinaaja2741 Going back to Lab Muffin's myth busting videos, at least one theory is that in Hawaii at least, golf courses contribute to a lot more pollution than sunscreen but since they are money makers for Hawaii, easier to blame sunscreen.
@@db-gb5xi Thank you. Unfortunately „makes sense“ or rather I can imagine that they prefer the cheap way out. Lab muffin‘s video is really eye-opening 😳😔
Love how you look so sweet and innocent , big smile then the cuss words come flying out when 'beauty experts' chime in 🤣🤣 love u Cassandra, will only buy what u recommend now ❤️
Loved this!! Sassy Cassie- I'm a Sassy Kassie too ;) Thanks for bringing the real scoop 😄🙌
