Hey, at least cooking oil is a lubricant! WD-40 is primarily a solvent, not a lube, and can definitely cause damage to knives if used consistantly over time. Loving the videos, by the way! Been great to help get back into the hobby.
I think "full" is the right word, my balisong before lubing was so "fast and loud", and I thought it was a good thing, til I putted some oil in, some black liquid came out from the pivots, I think they either old oil, dirt or both. I used food grade mineral oil for lubing and was scared a bit when the sound was lower and the blade was not as fast, and it's a new balisong too. then I saw this video, the description you had given was similar to what I am experiencing after lubing.
I think you should put a drop in between the both pivot so itll spread to both of them which save the oil and it wont get all over handles of your balisong
I have a vulp right now and I’m looking to upgrade. Right now I’m between the vulp pro and the nabalis wing. Which would you choose out of the two? And which one has a more neutral balance? Would you suggest anything else?
i think it can damage them. i’m new to the hobby, but the washers on my mako were looking pretty desolate when i took it apart to give it a deep cleaning before oiling it for the first time(about 3 months after i got it😭).
guys ive oiled my balisong for the 1st time after like 1 y with the polaris and 3 months with the vulp actually genius idea i didnt know they could sound so well 🤣
The question isn't "when should i oil my balisong?", but rather "when should i stop deep frying my kraken in calamari batter?"
😦
Can WB-40 damage the Balisong? Bc i used it one time but now i switched to the lube in the vulp box.
When should you replace your washers?
Motor oil is my favorite flavor to use in my balisongs
wait flavor😶😶

Watch my video on my week with the wing
Im moving and I already packed my lube away cause I thought I wouldn't need it and a few days later you can literally hear the washer moving 💀
does anyone have tips for spinning pivots?i tried the squid industries video but it didn’t help.
Squeeze the handles
Lol i used olive oil one time when my knife was super dry. It worked ok.
Stop
Lol it was in a pinch and my knife was getting slow. I have plenty of superlube and kpl now. I'd rather use cooking oil than WD-40 though.
I see the sounds.
Visualize them
its also really tasty!
Agreed
Should do a video on the new clone GAx
No
will not oiling damage it or just make it not smooth?

Hey very good and useful video.
I want to ask is the arctic 2 a good beater and is it good for learning.
Yes
Yes it is, the arctic was a very good beater and learner. I just ordered an Antarctic 2 today, should be here in a week and I look forward to it!
Kind of, and yes
I oil mine every time I take one out of the case. If it's my edc bali, it gets oil once a day.
But I never clean them....
