Adjustable wrench restoration Volvo model 31 edition

- Adjustable wrench restoration “The Alligator”. Today I restore this Bahco wrench model 31 Volvo edition and turn it into a perfect beautiful hand tool again.
This adjustable wrench is also called “The Alligator” or even “the shark” because of the teeth in the back-end of the wrench’s handle which is for multipurpose use when you are on the road.
This Adjustable wrench is made in Stockholm Sweden for Volvo and came with some of their old car models e.g. Volvo Amazon 122, Volvo 544 and Volvo P1800. My father had a Volvo Amazon 122 when I was little, so this is VERY nostalgist for me to do this restoration.I’m very pleased with the look of my new beautiful adjustable wrench. I hope that you enjoyed this restoration video too? (Please hit “LIKE” and leave a comment)
We found this rusty Volvo wrench in a car trunk on a local junk yard and just had to bring it home to restore it. The rust on this old tool was not that deep, so it was easy to clean it. I did go light with the machinery and used a hand drill with a soft rotary wire wheel brush. I used bigger machinery to remove some scratches from the tools head and finally I painted a gold stripe from the wrench’s head and all the way down to the alligator tail of the tool.

In this video I restore an adjustable wrench 8" Volvo edition. I think that this restoration ended up very well. Please leave your comment below.
Don’t forget to watch my video of the little antique monkey wrench: ua-cam.com/video/AHvZjIY-2U4/v-deo.html
Can you tell me what the green and blue liquid combo Is made of. Is it a rust remover or just some soaking bath material. Also would love done plans for your tablets. Love the easy flip and bench grinder/polisher also loved the wooden table top with the vises built in. Very interested in building my own. Can you help with information please? Thanks if you can and thanks for the videos if you cannot. Still a big fan if your restorations.
@@joec4765 my thoughts too. I use phosphoric acid but that's clear. I think dye was added to make stuff blue and green I don't know of anything that comes that color
Joe Smith I have some phosphoric acid @ the house that has a green tint to it.
If I knew tools were able to be restored like this I wouldn't have thrown all the ones I find that looked like that away
Emmanuel Guevara I’m curious as to how many hours of work it took to restore that adjustable wrench.
This could be my dream job. Restoring rusty stuff. This is such a rewarding thing.
and it's so satisfying
Just spent 6 minutes watching someone restore an old wrench... Not even mad, satisfying as hell.
Thanks for watching ;)
In this throw away world we live in its nice to see something like this be made new again.
WD-40. Международный инструмент. Отличная работа, автору спасибо за интересный ролик!
По слухам, WD 40 настолько хорош, что некоторые мастера даже добавляют его в чай)

Хаха!
Молодец ! Дал вторую жизнь инструменту !
Wow, that wrench looks like a work of art now.
Thanks for watching and for your kind words I really appreciate it 👍👌
Oh how I love to see an old tool being fixed up and brought back to life. I can't tell you how many tools that I have found in my journeys, that were either broken, rusted, treated like crap or messed up.
That I have spent my time repairing and restoring and giving them a second chance of life. And the best part is, I don't abuse my tools and take care of them.
So was such a joy for me to see beautiful old tool, what we call here in Australia call a "shifter" being restored. This might seem weird, but it made me happy watching this video.
Great job my Swedish brother, love from Australia❤❤🇦🇺🇦🇺
thank you so much for your kind comment I really appreciate it. Have a happy holiday 🎄
Fun fact:
Bahco is one of the original inventors of the adjustable wrenches. Still sold today, these are called , if I’m not mistaken, alligator adjustable wrenches. The alligator part is for rounded off bolt heads or holding pipes and other items of the like.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your knowledge I really appreciate it 👍
Just incredible to see something so rusted that would just be thrown away brought back to a useful beautiful tool 👍🏽
THANK YOU! I've had an Adjustable wrench that was 'stuck' (non-adjustable) until I saw this.
Вы замечательный мастер - у Вас ЗОЛОТЫЕ руки!!!
thank you so much :)
If that wrench could talk..it would say thank you for making me beautiful again. Great job!
Thanks william ;)
Молодец автор. Руки растут где надо
Thanks 😊
Finally! Someone who used WD-40 for what it’s made for. It’s not a lubricant for hinges, people.
Haha...i use it for everything 😉
As a lubricant for hinges it might seem to work though, regarding a lot lot of people doing so. So why bother ;)
That was a very impressive job of cleaning up that poor wrench!
Thanks 👌
A beautiful restoration, very nicely done and especially so when you see what you started with.

Just ran across this video and enjoyed it. Now I’m a subscriber!
Nice job! Next time pick up some wire brushes for cleaning gun barrels. They easily clean any interior round surface from 1/8” to over 1” and are inexpensive. They come in copper and stainless bristles! They usually have one end treaded to attach to a threaded metal rod to control them, which can also be inserted in a drill to ream even better and faster!
Thanks for watching and for sharing your knowledge I really appreciate it 👍
No one would believe that was the same wrench.. nice job..
thanks Gary :)
i know what im doing saturday after the leaves, nice job
Jag hittade en Bacho 10" skiftnyckel i en sedan 30 år övergiven kolonilott, blev som ny efter bara 4 timmar elektrolys. Det är bra metall i dem.

I’m curious as to what the green and blue liquid in the pan is. I see you are from Sweden. I have a friend who lives in Malmo. Keep up the good work. I’ve enjoyed the videos I’ve seen.
Malmo was Zlatan old club. 😁
Ean Albe im not familiar with Zlatan but I am a Liverpool fc fan.👍
