I watched your video because the title said 6 mo review. That's what I look for. How is the phone after using it for a long period of time. Thank you! I have been a Samsung user since the Galaxy Express. I was intrigued by the Pixel and got a Pixel 7. I absolutely LOVED it. However, one day after receiving an update, receiving calls became hit or miss. Mostly miss. I found out I was not alone, too. I discovered many people with the GP7 had the same issue. I reached out to Google and while they were nice enough, I had much trouble convincing them of this problem. I finally broke down and traded my Pixel 7 for a Samsung Galaxy S24+. Best Buy was offering a really good trade in price. I really didn't want to get rid of my Pixel, but I also needed to be able to receive calls. It's interesting that you mentioned the issue a customer has with the Samsung phone app not working properly. Lol. Anyway, I've been looking at eBay for deals on the Fold. Not sure if I'll buy one now, but I really love the clean, Google Pixel experience. When it works.😉
Thank you for the great review. I purchased a pixel fold and have been watching different videos for tips, tricks, updates, etc. Yours was very informative. Plus, you have a great speaking voice--very clear. Great work.

What would you say about getting a used one for like $800? The Fold 2 is coming out soon enough, and I figure that as long as the inner screen doesn't break before that, Google should give back at least $800 on trade-in for this thing right? Then I get to use a Fold 1 for a few months and get my money right back out of it for a Fold 2 with a warranty and a protection plan. That's the dream, anyway.

Ease of use is a 10 with the Pixel line of smartphones, plus i really like the GUI, and 'it just works.' I also have a Pixel tablet. This is a very expensive device for me and I will treat it with great care. I bought a good protective case but will also pay attention to make sure I do not drop it. Battery life is awful. I also got a good bundle deal on the Pixel Buds Pro but soon realized I need to turn off Bluetooth when not using them because of the battery drain. Also turned off Adaptive in the Display settings so the phone does not try to run at 120 Hertz. Just those two changes greatly improved the battery drain rate. High refresh is great but I am fine with the lower settings. I know there will be many improvements when the next generation of the Fold comes out but 1) didn't want to wait that long; 2) like the form factor on this original Fold and am not confident the next one will keep the same measurements/ratios; and 3) I usually upgrade after 3 or 4 years, so the remaining time for system updates/upgrades for this original Fold is still enough for me. Also, I really like fingerprint biometrics and 3-button navigation and would hate to wait only to find out one or both of these are being phased out. Example: where is my headphone jack? where is my SD slot? where is my removable/replaceable battery? I still have a lot of setup and tweaking to do but I have great hope I will still be happy with this Fold a year from now. And two years. And three years. 👍

The bezels didn't bother me like it did everybody else. I will say that the camera is definitely better than the z fold 5. Google's fold definitely had the best cameras in a foldable! I did notice service was awful in the phone. I'm guessing the antennas werent great, because as soon as I put my sim into a different phone service was significantly better. I'm really hoping they NAIL it with the next generation and if they do I'm fully going to switch over to team pixel. But I did return the phone and watch. Ive been wondering about the longevity this google fold, you know if you buy brand new fold of any brand they will have bigger packaging compare to normal phone because they shipped the phone in unfolded state and thats interesting for me,... because i guess they dont want the inner screen elasticity start to wear off before the owner having it. But this pixel fold shipped in folded state that makes me wonder wether they are so confident with durability of it or they just dont think about it at all
I thought the same thing when I first bought it, and I'm kicking myself for not videoing the unboxing or keeping the box but the pixel fold is actually shipped folded. It was actually really weird taking the wrapper off of the phone because even though the phone was folded, there was a piece of paper separating the screen so they weren't touching. With that being said, the longevity of these phones is less than questionable. Other UA-camrs have had these phones break on them very early on, I have been fortunate because even though I have a history of cracking screens on my slab phones, this one has been going 8 months strong
And the microphone Word for Word captures everything accurately that you say into it instead of typing 😊 is the best I think other feature regarding Google it’s accurate🤷♂️👍. Thoughts for iPhone 15 pro to fold ? Just wondering typing on the iPhone since iOS 10 hasn’t been better. For me. Android keyboard seems to auto correct better. 🤔🤔

How long have you had the phone? You should post on Reddit about it. I found there's a pretty active community of people online talking about this device
When this guy mentioned the camera quality difference between foldable phones and flagship phones, I knew this guy was the real deal...other reviewers keep heaping praise at the google fold's camera..
I still don't understand how you can make a phone so bad you have to cancel I'd mid production... I love to hear them try again. But how do you actively make something that bad? That like me making something in the garage and giving up half way cause it wasn't good enough. But I already spent $10000 on wood
Did they cancel it mid production? I know it took Google a long time to get the phone out and they may have rushed the release just so they could finally get something to market, but I didn't think that it was canceled necessarily. Honestly I love the phone. If Google was willing to pay me to make a commercial I would 😂 but they aren't paying me. So I will be honest that this phone does need some work and it feels like they did rush it when it was released. Luckily through some updates (battery life, aspect ratio, etc) it has improved alot
Know I'm a bit late on the video - I'm looking for a foldable phone to replace my work phone (company pays the bill, so price isn't an issue). In hand, I like the Google Fold way more than I like the Galaxy one (the Galaxy feels like I'm holding a candy bar). In that situation, would you jump on the Pixel Fold or wait for the new one (potentially) coming in the next few months?
At this point I would wait for the Pixel Fold 2 if you can. I think the first generation fold will still be very enjoyable after the new phones release. If you have to choose a phone now and you're going to do a foldable then definitely go to Google pixel fold. If you can wait then definitely wait til October
I can't relate to your Samsung issue. Had the Fold 4 and 5 series. No display issues. Seems like the OnePlus open is a better device than the Pixel Fold......
Just out of curiosity, how often do you use the Cover display vs the inner display? I don't mean to trash the Z Fold, its hardware is better than the Pixel. I've never met someone who owned a OnePlus, I didn't want to buy one because I couldn't go to a store and test out a display model. If they can get into carrier stores then I'd consider the OnePlus. I've seen people rave about how great they are but I've also seen comments that compare it to buying a lottery ticket because of quality control, don't know how true that is but it makes me hesitant especially since I can't see it in person first. Also thank you for sharing, I hope you continue to comment in the future, I'd like more perspective from Z Fold owners!
I really do NOT understand why they put mid range components and ask the highest price, and I am talking about all foldable. Just yesterday I tested Fold6 and s24 Ultra side by side and fold 6 is not even midrange, pictures come out like a 370ish € phone for the 2000€ while S24 ultra is 1200 € and crush the fold 6. I mean are you realize how many sales the lost for this?
@@kurt120032002 it's very annoying, sometimes I like it because it means that the folding phones get the finger scanner on the power button which is considered mid-range Tech. Though everything else is annoying about it. One of the reasons these phones don't have mainstream appeal yet. You have to make a decision if you want the best phone ever or if you want something really cool and new that no one else is going to have. It's pretty much just an enthusiast phone at this point. Cameras aren't as good but they are pretty close and a lot better than every other actual mid-range phone I've gotten my hands on.
@@kurt120032002 I'll be making more videos soon, I've been having an issue with audio quality and I'm in the process of building a PC right now. It's almost built. Once it's together, I'll make a video on the PC and then get back into phones like the fold 6
@@TayWTech my interest is that when open the phone is the perfect size to control my Volumio music steamer, the classic finger print and a more manageable size when closed. The camera look really cheap and out of place, and photo quality isn't a 2000 € phone. Just put the same god damn module in the phone and fill rest of the thickness with battery, or put the stylus inside. At the 6th generation not having top tier camera is really not an excuse anymore.
@@TayWTech not sure what do you mean not far behind. Literally 5 min ago I went and did a test with main 1x camera compared with my 7yo Note 8, and Note 8 took better pictures. Same conditions, both on auto... how is this acceptable samsung. I am looking to upgrade my Note8, not to downgrade.
When you consider that the device has more screens than anything else and I keep them at Max brightness, it's really good. But I don't want a fanboy too hard, it seems like the other foldables have slightly better batteries. But yeah you're right, 7 hours is enough from me on just about any day.

pitaka Pixel Fold Case, Slim & Light Magnetic Case for Google Pixel Fold, Aramid Fiber Made No links or anything like that, these videos aren't sponsored but that is the case and I do really like it
Google uses Stock Android but Samsung doesn't so its a better android experience. As long as you buy a case that covers the hinge even when the phone is closed, that will prevent dust particles from getting pushed inside when you unfold to the bigger screen. This eliminates the screen problems. Performance and Battery is fine for average use. In my books this is a much better phone than Z fold line PS:I own this and the Galaxy Z fold 4 and I find myself using this all the time.
Thank you for your input. I haven't had a z fold but I did have a z flip 3, 4 and I've had multiple galaxies and I agree the stock Android experience is better. Putting the cover screens aside, do you think Samsung has the better inner display?
@@TayWTech To be honest, I don't see much difference, Samsung's inner screen is slightly bigger but that's it. I uploaded some MP4 hi res videos in both the devices and it was neck to neck.
The Case is made by Pitaka, you can find it on Amazon. Pitaka Pixel Fold case, slim and magnetic. (Made with aramid fiber) The back piece that I'm using to hold it is called a "Clckr", that's exactly how it's spelled and they make it in many different colors.
Phones are not something I amortize anymore. The thing that gets me with folding phones are durability. I would love to have one, but I fear the inner screen getting damaged, and after hearing about dust getting in screens and hinges, I wouldn't want to sink that much money and be up the creek without a paddle.
That's exactly why these are so hard to recommend. I have an early upgrade feature on my plan and I have that because I know that I will likely need it. Hope I'm wrong, but given the track record of Motorola and Samsungs Foldables...... 😬

Looking forward to more videos
Thank you! I should have the next video out by Tuesday
what is the case and the magsafe strap you used please!! can you link it
pitaka Pixel Fold Case, Slim & Light Magnetic Case for Google Pixel Fold, Aramid Fiber Made [MagEZ Case 3 - Black/Grey(Twill)] a.co/d/3BTMKVO
I will try and get better about linking these things. I bought the Clckr Magsafe accessory in a retail store. The brand name is "Clckr", if you pull it up on Amazon exactly how I spelt it you'll see all kinds of cool color options!
My fingerprint sensor stopped working. It's not showing up in the settings either
How long have you had the phone? You should post on Reddit about it. I found there's a pretty active community of people online talking about this device
The most good looking folding phone with pure stock android!
My first Pixel and I now get it. I love the pure stock Android!
#TeamPixel #Android15
great review mate
Thank you Sir
When this guy mentioned the camera quality difference between foldable phones and flagship phones, I knew this guy was the real deal...other reviewers keep heaping praise at the google fold's camera..
It's a good camera but the difference is so obvious. Hopefully future foldables get more love!
Very clear view
I'm gonna go more in depth on the gaming side of this phone next. Just need to test out another game
Bro, don’t tell me you’re from Eugene, OR? 😯
Living in Springfield ATM
Nice phone
Thank you!
I'll be releasing a video tomorrow about the watch that I use with it!
Yo, since when is 7 hours of screen time not considered good?
When you consider that the device has more screens than anything else and I keep them at Max brightness, it's really good.
But I don't want a fanboy too hard, it seems like the other foldables have slightly better batteries. But yeah you're right, 7 hours is enough from me on just about any day.
is this phone good for NDS or 3DS emulation? since it has the two screens, it makes a perfect match for this consoles's games
It is really good for emulation. I was using Drastic DS but there are better options out there. I have a short up showing a ROM hack on this device
Perfecto👌
Thank you sir
Where can we find your wallpaper?
It's a picture I took. Do you want me to send the photo?
@@TayWTech sure I'd like that
@@alex_rfgfitness I think I found your IG. I hit you with a follow request. I can I'm it to you.
Unless there's a way to do it on yt, I've never sent something here before
@@TayWTech got it. If it's in Google photos, you should be able to tap share and then create a link
Do you have a link to your MagSafe case and accessories? Great video
pitaka Pixel Fold Case, Slim & Light Magnetic Case for Google Pixel Fold, Aramid Fiber Made
No links or anything like that, these videos aren't sponsored but that is the case and I do really like it
Google uses Stock Android but Samsung doesn't so its a better android experience. As long as you buy a case that covers the hinge even when the phone is closed, that will prevent dust particles from getting pushed inside when you unfold to the bigger screen. This eliminates the screen problems. Performance and Battery is fine for average use. In my books this is a much better phone than Z fold line
PS:I own this and the Galaxy Z fold 4 and I find myself using this all the time.
How to stop the auto wallpaper changer. Is anyone having the same problem?
Are you talking about when it changes wallpapers between your inner display and cover screen?
@@TayWTech yes
Where to get that case with the back
The Case is made by Pitaka, you can find it on Amazon.
Pitaka Pixel Fold case, slim and magnetic. (Made with aramid fiber)
The back piece that I'm using to hold it is called a "Clckr", that's exactly how it's spelled and they make it in many different colors.
That's why you get insurance with foldable phones.
Are you part Indian. Love the Kada on your arms
Thank you! No I'm not Indian but my girlfriend is. She gave this to me a few months after we started dating and I haven't taken it off since.
Amazing…I guess she really likes you because that is an ornament worn with the belief to protect a person from jealousy or ill-wishes of other people.
Your girlfriend probably doesn’t want anybody else to steal you away hahaha
Is this a real good phone man because I'm looking into getting it i have the Google pixel 4xl now!
I love this phone and I think it's worth getting, but you should probably wait until the next generation Pixel Fold is released.
I have a video up on my channel talking about whether or not you should wait or upgrade now!
Would you suggest pixel fold right now
Yes but don't pay full price. Get a good deal on one, also there are a lot of rumors of a 2nd Gen coming out around October
@@TayWTech
I would like to say great video and break down on the phone excellent job. I currently have the pixel 7 and I also know that Google I/o is coming in May where they will show new photos and talk about new software. So I didn't know if I should go with the pixel 8 pro or the fold especially since I work like 9 or 10 hrs days
@@TayWTech
And I was going to get the phone through Verizon wireless
Google pixel 6!! I have google pixel 7 💯
Pixel UI is the cleanest Android I've ever used. Don't miss my Samsung at all!
good review
I appreciate you! More shorts in the meantime while I'm putting together the next video
your watch is too tight on your wrist and that bang is way too big
I like that numb tingly feeling I get in my fingers
7:21 I challenge you to do it ^^
Maybe when I get the Fold 2 😂 I can't afford to be Jerry rig everything yet

Watch the other videos to see the rest of my team 😉
36 month "contract's" are disgusting
Not the smartest way to buy phones for sure
Victra? 😂
What's Victra?
1k for a phone is a " good deal" lol phones these days are stupid.
Maybe after the Kellogg's Boycott we should all switch to TCL Classics for 5 years to boycott these phone prices 😂
Dude why waste 800 if you seem to have almost nothing but negative opinions. The Fold is the best phone in its category, on the planet.
I don't want to be negative about the fold, I do really love this phone!
I just don't want to Fanboy too hard and ignore some of the weaknesses that this phone has. Personally, I think this phone's awesome and I think everyone should get one but Google isn't paying me so you can bet I'm gonna give people a heads up 😂
Do you have a Pixel Fold?
@@TayWTech absolutely. I don't buy phones because of the cameras. I'm an audio/video enthusiast. However, I did capture some great video at the Metallica show, and I was impressed. I didn't expect it considering I didn't take my 8 Pro with me that night. I appreciate your response.
Never buy a first gen devices. Thats my motto.😂😂
That would be the smart move, but I love new stuff so it's a risk I'm willing to take 😁
