    In southern Louisiana, we used to trap them in roadside ditches or the local swamp or bayou. A crawfish boil is a local tradition. Yum! I love crawfish etoufee and crawfish bisque!

      We love them too. And there are millions waiting to be found and eaten.

    Purina makes bait pellets, about the size of a half link of sausage, we usually put a piece with fish

    Definitely a food source readily available. Only thing is I think they are shellfish and an unclean food if that is something that is important to you. Thanks for showing how to successfully fish for them if we would like or need to.

      @LDSPrepper  10 місяців тому +2

      I think they would be considered unclean to Jewish kosher standards. It is easy enough to use an aquarium air pump and put them in aerated water overnight and them them clean themselves out with the fresh water.

      Yes, crayfish are usually forbidden according to the Torah, unless one is in danger of death by starvation. ✡️❤️

      Since God's word never changes...and He did not create the jewish body any different than us goyim...I would not ever put another crawdad in my mouth again...even if starving. I use to love them when living in Biloxi in my late 20s...and not walking with Jesus...and did not know they were not fit for human consumption...like the swine...full of poisons regardless how they are raised or cooked.

    I was just thinking about crawfish! How interesting! I used to see communities of crawfish out by the sewers near the golf course near where I worked. I wondered why the golfers didn’t trap them but I was told that the crawfish would taste like sewer water. On the other hand I think your idea is a fabulous one! It’s an original idea that might come in handy! Great food source that nobody has mentioned.

      I found the highest population of Dungeness crab at the sewer outlet of a row of waterfront restaurants. They were the best tasting crab I ever had. I think they were eating all the food scraps, not the human waste.

    Go down through a pond with a net strung between two people on poles so you can scrape the net along the bottom - you'll come up with buckets of crawdads ----- you want your net about four foot high - about twelve foot across - net tied to about a six foot pole on each end - with a piece of rope or something tied along the bottom of the net and attached to the poles to make the bottom of the net stronger for scraping the bottom of the pond ----- a net like that and some five gallon buckets then you just need to find a good pond - net rolls up for storage

I remember a few years ago when you could get Remington Thunderbolts for 4 cents, but sadly those days are over it seems. Now they cost 8 or 9 cents, which used to be the price for a mini-mag.

    No advertisement in this video… if you paid for all of this out of pocket you might have said so. Also it’s not free food if you are buying the attractant.
    No argument from me that crawfishing can be very good in your preparations. It’s just your overzealous advertisement.
