had my berkey for about 2 years now. never looked back. paid a lot, around 450 with the spout with glass, but it sits next to my kitchen sink, i use the sprayer to fill it, easy, so convenient the water tastes great and i love it.

Haven't been here for sometime but glad to see your update on Berkey. I am so glad to have my Berkey the last several years. I just bought more filters and have white and black filters. Sadly powers that be don't want us to have clean water and only what we get from them.

I love my Berkey Travel I purchased from you. I have been using it ever since it arrived. It passed the dye test first time out. I have the Berkey Camp and loved the water from it. Now I enjoy the Berkey water all the time. (I won't drink tap without boiling it and rarely drink from plastic bottles.) Not many realize how different the water tastes and smells after going through the Berkey Black filters. I live in VA and can actually say, our city water is terrible here at the coast. I watched all your vids on the Berkey and made my decision after testing the Berkey Camp for two years. I only wish I had purchased the Travel sooner. Thanks for all your vids and hard work. Ive been using Berkey filters for at least 15 years. Ive seen the fakes and only buy genuine Berkey filters. There's propure that are also pretty good but the health ranger mike adams tested both and the berkeys won. Excellent product! Buy from a reputable dealer.

The fact the EPA have gone after them for its ability to filter the water for THAT item is interesting its almost as if they are distributing it via the water system on purpose..

Bought all my Berkey filters and several units from a Berkey authorized dealer. Got extra spigots both in plastic and chrome plated brass along with extra black and white filters for replacements..

We are happy with the For Patriots Water Filtration System delivered for $197.
Sounds much more affordable, love to see how they compare in performance I haven’t been able to afford berkey system….just don’t know why they don’t have independent testings ensure if filters really do 3k gallons as claim, and also remove different chemicals including forever chem. 500 + filters replacement just isn’t possible for struggling fixed income disabled people to invest until I see certification of how efficient to rest of other systems. For now I just use zerowater….lol

I was so ticked off bought a blemished one which is non refundable. I felt they should have let me know about the lawsuit so at least I could have made a better purchasing decision. Full disclosure, felt it was deceptive

I have the travel Berkey & just bought 2 ceramic filters from British Berkefeld…so far so good.
Bought a Travel Berkey from a Berkey distributor in Las Vegas (via eBay) in 2021. A "blemished" unit, just like new but 25% lower than the new price. I've had Multipure (CB5 and Aquadome) units for over 20 years. To me, Berkey is the same high quality but much cheaper in the long run. Doing the red dye test on the Berkey every few months and it passes each time. The Multipure units do not have an easy water test to check for quality. The Multipure replacement filters are now $90 each from the company.
I'm in uk....recently got a Berkey ..... amazing step up from brita filters....my coffee tastes way better. I think the proof of the pudding is in the drinking :)
The black filters that came with my Berkey fell apart after a month. In addition when I lined them up next to each other all four filters were different in length. Terrible quality control.
Sounds like a knock-off brand. There are a lot of them available on the internet.

How often do you clean your black filters and canisters? I can't believe you made it 8 years. I keep track of every gallon i put in. I am at 862 gallons since my purchase in 2020. I had major brain surgery and didn't clean my unit for the last 12-13 months but used it every day. I recently cleaned my black filters, purged them with the priming tool and then reprimed them. I Did the red dye test and it failed. Is it possible that not cleaning the filters for a year could cause them to fail. I followed the cleaning videos and was gentle. 5 months after I bought my unit my filters quit filtering the water and i filed a warranty claim and they sent me new filters. Now 2 years later the filters are failing again. Although the water still comes out, the red dye failure is an issue. I just missed my warranty to replace this second set. I am very disappointed and hesitate to spend 166.00 to replace them if they aren't even lasting anywhere close to 6000 gallons. Thanks for all your info.
As far as I know the Berkey has never passed the red dye test, at least not with just the black filters, maybe if you add the fluoride filter it would. Honesty I just use the white filters for tap water, I keep the black filters for when I have to resort to using it for more questionable water.
Thanks for the response. When I first got my unit and put it together i did the red dye test as recommended and it passed. I did not have the PF2 filters on at the time because they were very specific and adamant and said do not do the red dye test while the PF2 filters are attached. Then after the original black filters stopped flowing in 5 months i did the red dye test with the new filters they sent me without the PF2 filters. and they passed. But i never did the red dye test after that. but their literature recommends doing the dye test ever 3-6 months. that would be a major pain in the butt. I thought maybe cleaning the black filters did something. i have since found on their website that unless the red dye test fails or the flow slows way down no need to clean the filters. maybe cleaning the filters first did something although i followed the instructions to the letter and wouldn't think that could be a problem. thx again. @@captainz9

Do the fluoride filters add aluminium to the water?

A good way to detoxyour body of aluminum is to drink 1 liter of Figi water within 1 hour every day for 13 days. This is the advice from Dr. Christopher Exley. He has done extensive research on the subject. You can also follow the directions to make your own "silica water" from Dr. Dennis Crouse.
Yes. It is not possible to filter out fluoride or arsenic with a gravity filter. However, those chemicals will bind with aluminum oxide. That is what those filters are doing, and they do leach unhealthy levels of aluminum into your water. Multiple tests and videos have been done on this. Do not use the white filters. If you are concerned about fluoride, get a reverse osmosis system

I haven't bought another filter yet but my original is directly from Berkey. Idk if the water is any safer but the one thing I didn't like was the taste.
My black filters are about 10 years old and still using them. I try and scrub them down about once a month and they still work, better than anything you would buy in a store. Berkey is the best ever.
Instead of scrubbing the filters you can used compressed air to blow water through the filter the same way that you prime them, then the filters will last alot longer.
I tried that, it blew the end off the second I pressed the trigger. I guess it's so stopped up that no air could pass through, so had to re-glue the top back on, which I've had to do before. Whenever I get enough money saved up I will buy a new set of filters.

Excellent. Purification tablets have an expiration date. If you haven't checked the date you might do that some time.
I bought an outdoor plastic Berkey filtering system awhile back, what is your option of the quality of water from it. Watched a video about how Berkey has no NSF 53 test results and I find it concerning about the quality of the water. I could really use help on this. Thank you LDSPrepper
i use a doulton rio 6000 under the kitchen sink , and we drink from that tap. I have spring water fed to the house from a few km away, it has some drawbacks, pipes need frequent repair and maintenence, but the water is mainly chemical free, then the filter takes care of the rest. When I drink in town, it tastes like pool water.
I am considering a 4000l spetic tank in the back yard as a back up resovoir, and a pump to get it out. Most people put a big tank up the hill to get the gravity presure, but i figure i have 1000L tank up there, and could just pump water back up with the generator if needed. and if things get really bad, well 1000L will go a long way, and i;ll just have to get the water out the big tank with a bucket, lol.
id like to add, the Rio 6000 uses the same ceramic filters as the berkeys and the British Berkefeld counter top filters, but with the ease of filtering the mains pressured tap water. No fuss. The only problems ive had are after a week of being away, there is a washer in there that grow mold, and it needs cleaning. Other than that after 2 years i opened it and it looks new, obviously i dont have a lot of crap in the water to begin with.

Something to add to that question is: should the EPA be investigated for operating under regulatory capture? Who is funding the department that decided to initiate the Stop Sale Order, and what connections do they have in Congress? When you have a financially weak agency, they are susceptible to being bought out by organizations with money. They effectively stop doing their job. In this case, the EPA effectively stops advocating and protecting the environment or the public. If a company or a country is using that little costly certification excuse to gain power based on a technicality, that would rightfully fall in line with sabotage of some sort. Then, the EPA would be guilty of committing a crime and the veneer of authority would be pierced.
That sort of investigation would take much more work and much more money. Berkey just might know about it and not be willing to tolerate it.

Wastewater is typically non treated sewage and runoff. Are you insinuating that COV is in treated municipal tap water?

I just retired as a chief operator at a WWTP A few days ago. No waste water treatment plant removes chemicals or drugs from water. It's impossible. If you send it down it goes right through a plant and continues to lakes and rivers. Where does your drinking water come from?
I've owned Berkey since 2004 but the filters are of the newer ones. Is it the new filters that are garbage?
My understanding is not Berkey but a distributor, one of a few... Have Berkey and enough filters to last my lifetime... as an ole' Boy Scout know how to purify water bare bones. Have well at river level some one hundred feet. Grandfathered in it was... new well would be 300 too 400 feet. Have not tested... distill anyway. Rust too sulfur odor in Spring. Lived with such before and this not so bad. Spent some time in a place where the tap water was black... that can't be good. Berkey is mostly for when all else fails, mud puddles to swamp water or river water and I feel fine...😵Post Script... once tested well in a place had just purchased... came back with some elevated arsenic a natural occurrence and then there was the chlorine, mystified I was... That well had been treated to disguise it's current poor condition and it were... keep that in the back of your head for future reference.

I must be doing something wrong. I bought a Zero water filter that came with a tester. I used the tester on faucet water, Berkey and the Zero. The Berkey and faucet gave the same results. The filters came from Berkey. Any ideas?
I'm actually shocked that the number from the Berkey was the same as tap, it should have been higher. The tester that comes with the zero water tests for "dissolved solids." The Berkey filters usually leach small amounts of carbon and add to this number. Over simplifying here, but the zero water adds a charge to solid stuff and then passes it through negative charged stuff to suck it out like magnet. But the zero will not remove things like bacteria and viruses.

My well water has the maximum level of fluoride deemed to be "safe" by the EPA. Hence, I have a large whole-house fluoride catalyst (filter) with two subsequent carbon filters. That makes my household water safe, IMO. But I also use my Berkey Royal for all my drinking water. I'd hate to see the company lose their lawfare to the tyrants "looking out for our safety." (not sure whom I maybe quoting there, someone I am sure).

Where do you get your berkeys that you sell?
I purchased a Berkey Regal from you a while back and have been happy, but haven’t tested the water in a laboratory.
We do not have fluoridated water, so that’s not a concern.
But… I am concerned about everything I keep hearing about the whole federal government issue.

Jailbreak Overland channel did a video where he cleaned his big Berkey water filters with an air compressor. He said they were as good as new. Submerge the filter in water and blow air through them.

Standards are set by and verified to the NSF standards Berkey has been certified for exactly ZERO contaminates. Class action law suits have been filed against the manufacturer . Do your home work!
