Agree the lower and wider stance and better drag coefficient of the futuristic Kona wins in my book and that it has more ground clearance because of its larger rims it’s the one I’d choose with s360 cam in the the top trim, unaivailable on the seltos i makes Kona the better if the twins! Love the gentle brown leather option on Seltos though it’s really upscale and looks Ike caramel.
The Kona shifter is terrible and I love the gentle brown interior o leather on seltos sx it’s better than the exterior pluton blue on Kona so seltos wins but it’s missing the 360 cam and dual zone climate control all that is worth more than the beautiful caramel brown of the Elton’s Sonoma wins for tech advantage
The design of the Kona have the flaws of the lights in the lower part of fenders if you get involved in a small accident is going to be a very expensive repair.
Great review! Why is the Kona about 200 lbs heavier when they share similar components anae about the same dimensions? What adds all that extra weight to Kona? So confused!
My biggest problem with the Hyundai Kona is all that black cladding covering the qtr panels, If its really meant for off road then I can understand a bit around the wheels and body bottom edge like we see on the Seltos. This may not bother some people but it does me ! Since these are not really (Off Road) vehicles IMO they should be at least painted metal or painted cladding.
I have changed three flat tires. The Kona might look sleek, but the Seltos has a spare tire. When you have a family and don't want to wait hours to pay a tow truck hundreds, a spare tire is mandatory... The Kona does not have a spare tire, which is inexcusable.
I have learned that you are correct. I looked at a Limited. Hyundai apparently takes the spare out of N-Line and Limited... Crazy cheap move on their part.
Of the ones I’ve driven, I like the Mazda CX-30 the best because of how it drives but it’s kinda small inside. For Fuel Economy, Kio Niro Hybrid. 50 mpg and a very nice car. If it fits the budget and you want a lot of bells and whistles, Hyundai Kona Limited.
How is this an “ age old” question if both are new? it’s like saying the age old question of Apple or Android😅 One question that has me stumped is how is Kona 200 lbs heavier when it’s basically the same size, what’s adding all the weight if it’s just a little wider? An age old question is what came first, the chicken cor the egg
Kona has more ground clearance with it’s larger rims the Seltos has about 7” of ground clearance that’s not so good for going off road so Kona is sportier and better for off road use , too that alone makes it the winner 🎉

My Kona SEL has a full spare tire!

Which budget SUV would you recommend to purchase ? It could be any ( not out of these 2)

The one thing I'm not sure about on the Kona is how low the headlights and especially the taillights are.
With warrantees that are not always honored ... I'll pass ... Mazda and Toyota are better options.

That’s kind of the joke

I like the Seltos better
I must strongly disagree the seltos is far better looking than the Kona in my opinion the Kona is bland and boring
