I watched it too, i was just a little bit confused as to why you kinda just slowed down on the last couple seconds, for some reason i was thinking you where saving up more fuel, but you were both really low😂
the last lap sheesh... I dont play alot of racing games other than forza horizon lol but could you have done anything to prevent the slipstream overtake? or were you definitely gonna lose as long as he didnt run out of fuel? Great racing though indeed!

Insane timing, just .04 and exactly reaching 0% fuel at the finish line. WMurdoch strategy getting an impressive result too. Great race!

I like that it's not really 0.0% - it's actually 0.09% - 0.00% (probably more resolution going to 4 digits, at least in engineering we always said 4 decimals are precise 'enough'), so you never really know exactly how much left you have left of course.
@@kresimircosic9035 It would be nice if they added that second decimal place to be honest, just to gauge it super accurately for races like this where that stuff genuinely does matter.
@@THENAMEISQUICKMAN Yeah, you can see they are using, if I remember correctly, 1/100th of a % point in the gas efficiency missions. So the accuracy is there, it's just not displayed. Maybe they think we don't like that, I love that stuff.

Who needs IRL races when we have races like this. I'm sitting here clenching for that last push to overtake.. even tho i'm not racing.
I mean both IRL racing and online racing are good, they both have their up and downsides, but one can't live without the other
That was crazy, the fuel ended exactly at the end of the race and won it by a tick. Impressive driving
He had .499% or less as it rounds. But graphically it looks cool.
Thats not crazy, at pit stop you see the exact amount of fuel you need for finishing.
@@LiquidIEx that's not that accurate honestly bcs even when i fuel for 5 laps with 5 laps the fuel ain't enough and i need to put the car on lean mode anyway

Other than the pit stop and probably fuel consumption, this truly is a real racing simulator for most of us. Definitely the kind of race we signed up for.
Your fuel usage was pixel perfect too. I counted the seconds each percentage takes, and you only had less than a second of full throttle remaining. I wish I could do that. ^^
There's regular fuel consumption and there are multipliers. Of course that multipliers aren't gonna be realistic. That's the whole point.

This race ended up being a really interesting daily race and was honestly a good choice by the devs to make

@@HugoStiglitz88 I thought the same, was dying for BoP but there's actually more car variety with tunes and the cars actually feel great to drive. Much less snap oversteer out of nowhere.

It's more difficult to control the car compared to GT sport. But I'm really liking it so far.

Today’s a special day
I was just in Daytona for the Daytona 200 sponsored by MotoAmerica. It's amazing how accurate they have this track, the Sunoco sign down to the retaining walls and even the crack sealing. Just awesome.
Awesome race! Just got the G29 wheel and have been having a blast playing. Soooo many spin outs at first but I'm getting better every race. Game is reigniting my love of racing games that I used to have with GT4.

I love how as the game evolves, so do the production and quality of your videos. The dynamic timing added with upgraded replay quality make the videos much more pleasurable to view. 👌

Now more variety than just 3 different races for an entire week and this could be truly great.
Daytona Road Circuit is such a cool track. Love how tight and old school it is on the inside, then it’s just a flat out slipstream fest on the outer track.
Watched this on the live stream, a terrific battle once Steve has sorted his sh*t out!

Wow, man!!! that was highly enjoyable to watch. I remember playing GT4 and I had this battle on the oval where I kept on swapping places with the Evo and me being the Subaru and man that was some racing that I had. I love the fact that you had literally 0.0% worth of fuel by the end. And finally, your reaction was up there. Highly entertaining. Thanks for the great video and great gameplaying.
I just so happened to tune into this live about 3 laps in. Definitely a crazy race. Your lives and my work schedule don’t mix well but I lurk when I can. Good racing Steve.
Has anyone else played this game so much since release that there hand’s literally hurting. I think I’ve given myself carpal tunnel clinching the controller so hard during races. Love every minute tho, just wish I had a solution for over gripping tho

That's the reason I got a wheel. Many people don't seem to have this problem, so I must have been holding the controller wrong.

Been watching your videos for about a year or so. I used to play Gran Turismo 4 when I was a kid. It made me good at driving I'm sure. This was definitely one of your better races. I didn't see any glaring mistakes.

there is nothing better when its neck and neck to the finish line, your hearts starts to sink, your muscles tense up and you sit up more, than you jump up in excitement as you barely make it across, best feeling in the world
This is the best race and commentary I have ever seen. As someone who hasn't played the GT series since 5, factoring in fuel strategy, and the comparison to the Tour de France, I haven't been this entertained in a long time.
I was able to buy a PS5 this weekend, can't wait until it comes in so I can play through GT7

This was an amazing stream, I can’t believe I was able to catch this race right when it kicked off.
There were a lot of good races that day. I highly recommend watching the livestream.
Probably the best win eva from SGT - didn't catch it live, but did watch the full stream later - I'm sure my heart was racing and my wife and dogs were all barking after I cried loudly "Get in there Lewis!" at the end. Epic!

Would be interesting to see your button assingments for the mclaren wheel and your overall settings, maybe you could do a video about that?
The game doesn't specifically recognise the Mclaren wheel, so you can't map the dials. You just get the std controler mappings for the MFD etc.

I noticed the last few weeks of GT Sport and the start of GT7 you have made a step forward which has been awesome to watch. Watched this race live last night what an ending congrats!
Just wanted to leave a comment saying I love your videos and breakdowns of things. I've been playing GT online since Sport and was never really competitive but now I'm consistently coming in 2 or 3rd. It's not spectacular but I have noticed an improvement so thanks brotha.
Also, this is my favorite track currently in GT7 so it was extra fun to watch.

That's cool to see Basic Ollie in this race with you, along with the other top-level sim racers. I remember an intense battle Ollie had with Jimmer in their AMS touring car league. Hell of a driver, that guy.

Awesome race - great to watch and super commentary too. I used to race MP in GT5 with friends but had my first ever comp race on GT7 Sport yesterday from 6th to 3rd. Yeah it's Race A at 78BHP but today I got the pole and won my first one ever, was so thrilled. Am hooked! :)
