Great race, the Porsche was really challenged here both on tyres which removed the no tyre change strategy and it was seriously underpowered on the straights. I saw Takuan the Ocenic Porsche qualifier losing slip inside 4 tenths so any result at mid to upper A+ in the Porsche can’t be understated. GG 🍻

I did this as my first manufacturers cup ever. Started as DR E in GT3 and the points system is basically rigged against you when your level is that low. Competing for rankings in gt3, I could’ve won 1st in every single race and still lost to someone with DR C who raced once and got 10th lol. On top of that, it’s a total cluster fuck of people driving like assholes. Seeing you drive in higher ranked lobbies is like night and day. No one purposely crashing into you or dive bombing you in a corner, truly amazing stuff.

Honestly though, Citroen is very tough to drive, and especially at the chicane i was struggling just like you

As someone whose favorite Gr.3 car is the Citroen, i am grateful for you doing the car justice. It can be very fast but its probably the hardest Gr.3 car to do consistently well with

just once, i would like to see what it would look like if you took a manufacturer's/nation's cup seriously. Practiced for it, did every race as many times as you can to maximize points etc
I really want to do this, just never quite get the time sadly. Perhaps there will be a season soon where the stars align and I can actually go for it. I think consistent 300-350 point scores aren't an unrealistic expectation.
350-400 points would take some considerable practice time, not just during the season but beforehand.
And on that bombshell, that was a bulletproof race.
Watching the way you are taking that bus stop and thinking about the way I was taking it makes me want to cry….

Great vid Steve, it seems you also faced some fender benders in this race, this daytona race felt so unbalanced even in GT2 league, how the citreon was so quick baffles me. But you did good and your perseverance landed you a podium. Top man!! 😂👍

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that a high-rated GT7 lobby is more competitive than a tiny class of amateur racers.
The lobby he's in is a lot more competitive than in the lower lobbies.

I got 2nd place from starting 8th. My strategy was simple. Pit as late as possible. Got fuel for 4 laps didn't change tires. There was no need to change tires.
I did 4 of these races I only ever do 1 or 2 . I finally was able to get a clean race in the 11pm race and I finished 2nd because p2 pushed me wide in bus stop and I got the 0.5 sec penalty
Also good to see in only 1 sec off you fast guys pace . Gives me hope again

I am telling you super GT is the best Sim racer I have ever heard of since I started watching some racing and actually because of him is why I started watching some racing I was watching some shorts earlier one day and I was just trying to find something to watch so I found what he he had in his shorts so I just kept watching his videos I watch like five videos every day on yeah but I really like he’s driving style in the way he does things he’s like he’s more patient in what he’s doing like if I was playing and if that was my channel I would’ve been rage quitting so bad it’s so hard like I just I just love super GT is the best the best❤ ❤❤❤❤❤
I struggled a lot with my Corvette yesterday. Oversteer in corner exit seems somewhat worse than before compared to other cars, I remember it being slightly more stable
Some cars are pretty difficult to drive especially FR layouts. For GT3 races I would prefer RR layouts

I didn't take tires... From a terrible p12 qualification I came in p3 at the end using map 1 for the whole race

I'm actually quite releaved to see that my 13 years of on and off playing Gran Turismo has led to something. Started playing online this week and did this race as well (also in the Porsche). My laptimes were roughly a second off Steve's so... that's a good way to start I guess.
Btw: Is it right that the length of these events depends on your driver rating? Because mine was 15 laps not 20 (B rated at the time I did it)...

Yes, it's gt3 racing. I'm not sure what the current classes or cups are called but look up 'wec' for example (world endurance cup). gt3 racing happens on many continents.

So just bought a ps5 and rebought gt7. What is an ideal screen sPC. Fo racing. As a fps and rpg gamer is usually use smaller monitors (27") on my pc.

Using fuel maps to save fuel is almost never worth it. Better to just short shift imo
It should be ‘Exceeding track limits’ not “Ignoring”. Ignoring implies that you don’t give a f*ck and did it anyway, when usually it’s the result of an unintended accident.
