Not a piano...steel guitar. This instrument was very commonly used in country music. Thanks for such fun reaction 🔥🎶👍
Queen of country music. A true country lady and never tried anything else. All her songs are awesome. 😊❤
It got its start in Hawaiian music. Then Country musicians "discovered" it.
Actually a pedal steel guitar. The pedal makes the wah wah
Loretta didn't play. She was a country girl and she told it like it was and was ready to back up her words. I also loved how she sang it with a big old smile on her face, like try me.
Was just thinking that’s the best part. That smile is screeeaamming “I’m just unhinged enough to do it.” 😂
You should listen to her song called The Pill. Loretta was quite a songwriter and wrote songs about things that women dealt with on daily basis - but she was also very controversial because she gave women a voice and the subject matter of her songs was more about empowering women and she actually got quite a lot of blowback for it. She is definetly and unquestionably a music icon.
she fought for women
That's why she's the Queen!! No one else was writing and singing real life stuff like Loretta. Yes, she has a catalog! She was the 1st Female Entertainer of the Year for the Country Music awards.
The TV Show was the Wilburn Brothers Show. That "country piano" is a steel guitar also known as a pedal steel guitar. It gives country music its sound. Also Hawaiian music too. It's a beautiful sounding instrument. Great reaction!
The "Country Piano" is a Steel Guitar.......
The Movie "Coal Miner's Daughter is a story of her life.......
Mrs. Loretta wrote her songs about her life. She said what she meant. And meant what she said. I don't know if she was afraid of anything.
I grew up listening to Loretta Lynn. Thank you for reacting to this wonderful woman. May she Rest In Peace. Best wishes from Tennessee 😊🇺🇸
My dad is from Ducktown , Tennessee, born and raised. 👵🏼☮️❤️
Great reaction! Next should be Loretta’s, “ You Aint Woman enough to Take My Man” , Im sure you’ll love it!
The pill and the reason our kids are ugly (with Conway Twitty) are 2 of my other favorites by Loretta
Mississippi Woman Louisiana Man by Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty is another one of my favorites by them.
Excellent choice of song to react to. With Loretta, there was no guess work, she spoke her thoughts candidly.
The instrument is likely a pedal steel guitar.
Next songs from her: "The Pill" and her duet with Conway Twitty " You're The Reason Our Kids Are Ugly."
I love how she smiles so sweetly while singing a song about kicking someone's butt.
So sad to hear of Loretta Lynn's recent passing. She was a country legend & singer song writer who's music has spanned 6 decades. She was also friends with the great late Patsy Cline. Her younger sister Crystal Gayle also is a great singer. She grew up dirt poor & stayed humble & true to her roots. The autobiographical movie "Coal Miner's Daughter" is worth looking at.
Yes!!! Lorreta Lynn is great!!
👊🤛💪Don't come home a drinking with lovin on your mind!
That's a steel guitar. Love Loretta ❤️
Loretta is a boss.
The Queens of Country (ie Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline [who Loretta was best friends with] Loretta, Dolly, and Reba) EARNED their title by being different than everybody else---bringin' somethin' new to the scene. Loretta was before her time---often, her songs were banned from radio---she pulled no punches, and was ADORED, for it!!!
Loretta Lynn...👏👏👏👏👏🎶Just. A hour or so away from her hometown..One of the greatest voices in Country music!
Her hits could keep you busy all nite non stop. Classic country. Country queen. Spoke from the heart. She was ahead of her time. Some controversy with her song-the pill-. Etc. Like this one were big hits for her. What a lady. What a voice… dan. 1/20/23
The 2nd LADY of country music. She just pasted away a month a go. She stayed with her man, even though they had some really good fights.
Coal Miners Daughter is a song about her childhood.
Duet with Conway twitty. Louisiana Woman Mississippi Man.
She has so many great songs.
I love watching you,AB.You are hilarious!!It's nice to see the reactions of the younger generations to classics.Keep em coming!!!
Thanks for showing my gal some love. She was my favorite in the 70’s. She was my very first concert around 10 in 1981. My parents knew, after years of nearly wearing out my record of her, they had to take me. I had such a great time, she wonderful. I didn’t find out until I was an adult she suffered from debilitating migraines. She sometimes started the show late because of it.
Love her saw her 55 times in concert and met her a handful of times..very sweet lady...
She really did it a few times too, I think.
"You better shut your face" saying it straight, rip Loretta.
You are too much fun to watch! Loretta is a Queen! Loved her since I was a little girl growing up in Tennessee! 🥰
Loved Loretta! RIP Loretta
Man, she is always going to be a legend. You have to remember also she was the first woman to really sing about this kind of thing, like aggressively. SHE WAS PUNK BEFORE PUNK. And she is also a female singer that almost all will agree they love.
She wrote a lot about her life. Her husband was a bit of a womanizer and this song was a nice little warning to all those women.
The show was called The Wilburn Brothers Show starring Teddy and Doyle Wilburn. The instrument is a steel guitar and is associated with country music as much as or more than the fiddle.
She was a legend and the queen for all time
Every time I watch your reactions you make them such fun to watch! Grew up listening to Loretta Lynn she was my mothers favorite so we heard it everyday but after years Loretta grew on me and till this day I love her music. Also the movie Coal Miners Daughter was an excellent movie and very true to her real life. Thanks for being so much fun to watch.
Someone else to check out... Crystal Gayle... Famous for her blue eyes, her ankle length hair, her beautiful singing voice... and for being the little sister of Loretta Lynn. Crystal is not as blunt or direct as her older sibling though.
Loretta was LEGENDARY.
Love her love her
The queen of country music! Well worth listening to all her music.
I grew up watching her on the Wilburn Brothers at 8 years old. RIP to my idol!!!
Please listen to her song Wings upon your Horns.
Conway and lorreta. Lead me on.
My man! That is a steel guitar! You need to listen to the duet that she did with Conway Twitty. Mississippi Woman Louisiana Man.
The steel guitar is awesome and can make the prettiest sounds, listen to some George Strait or Alan Jackson, you'll hear a lot of it
She wrote her own songs too. She wrote one directed to her husband "Your Squaw is on the Warpath Tonight." A lot of the folks in the Appalachian Mountains claim Native American ancestry, Cherokee, Creek, Shawnee, etc.
I have to say that you have the absolute best reactions to country music!!! So much fun to watch you the first time you listen to a song!
Loretta Lynn also has quite a few good ones with Conway Twitty, check out Lead me on, Louisiana woman Mississippi man when you get a chance
An amazing singer from eastern Kentucky!
This is one of my all time favorites youtube videos!! Thank you!
That's a pedal steel guitar. A must in country music. You need to see Barbara Mandrell setting a pedal steel on fire.
you need to listen to these songs of Loretta....YOU AINT WOMAN ENOUGH, DONT COME HOME A'DRINKIN, RATED X, THE PILL. She stood up for what she believed in and told it like it was. Some of her emotional songs include EAR UNCLE SAM, BLUE KENTUCKY GIRL AND LAY ME DOWN She is the GOAT!!
You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man
One's on the Way
The Pill
Your Squaw is on the Warpath
Rated X
Hey Loretta
Just a few to get you started with more Loretta 💗
Also, more Dolly Parton, please 😊
I love how Ms Loretta always sings these songs with a lovely smile 😂
More Loretta please she has many many many hits!!!! FYI it’s a steel guitar
You'd had alot, I think many fans in that Era are gone, but I was fan from late 70s to now...the 80s & 90s Loretta is what I am used too, this song is fire, Was definitely fire, in that day too
Thank you for a great reaction.
Loretta Lynn has a song called, The Pill that is good too. You might like that one also.
My dad played the steel gutar when i was a kid. Rip dad❤
You’re a joy to hang with. Thanks.
My top two favorite songs from the Queen of Country are "Fist City" & a duet she did with Conway Twitty called "You're the reason our kids are ugly" 🤣
I just found this Miss Loretta reaction I was like no way. My 2 older went to a later local show. If you get there early enough you could sing on the show. Let tell ya we heard this song almost daily. My Momma loved. So anyway we sang Fist City for Momma. We were scared to death but after the first chorus we became animated. A great memory. Thanks of the toe tapping look back and reminder of long ago 3 silly sister sang Loretta. We knew every song she did. Good times.
That is a Steel Guitar! It's what gave country it's unique sound.
You need to check out "One's on the Way," "You Ain't Woman Enough," "The Pill" which was controversial in the mid 70s when it was released, "You're Looking at Country" and "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man" with Conway Twitty.
Loretta married her husband when she was between the ages of 13 and 16 years old. He was known to cheat on her several times leading to songs such as Fist City and You Ain't Woman Enough. Very interesting biopic/movie Coal Miner's Daughter with Sissy Spacek as Loretta.
Its a lap steel guitar. Its played in a flat position sliding a polished steel rod along the strings and if you look close you will see one hand plucking but the other hand has the steel rod in it that he's sliding along the strings over the frets. But on another note Loretta wrote songs like this and other ones to flex for her husband Dew Little Lynn...he was what would be considered a dog when it came to the ladies although he loved her with all his might he did cheat.
That instrument is a steel guitar. It is responsible for that classic country sound
Love the song and love the reaction!!!
😂I absolutely the pureness of your reactions 😂
It's a steel guitar. Started in Mexico, moved to Hawaii and adopted by Nashville.
This woman is so iconic they’ve made movies, books, and many industry tributes to her accomplishments. There’s a lot of information for millennials on Wikipedia.
You must react to Jeannie C. Riley's Harper Valley PTA and Bobbie Gentry's Ode to Billie Jo.
Steel guitar is any guitar played while moving a steel bar or similar hard object against plucked strings. The bar itself is called a "steel" and is the source of the name "steel guitar".
She was my first concert .
Song that she's done is absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking .
It's a must ! It's on the same level as Johnny Cash " Hurt" .
" Ain't no time to go ( Darling)"
It'll make ya cry !
Country Piano
I love it
I'm stealing that one.
Lol ha ha
Loretta was not a woman to be trifled with! Iconic.
I would love to see you react to Vince Gill's greatest song- "When I call your name!" (Duet with the great Patty Loveless) straight OJ!
That is a pedal steel guitar. They are a versatile instrument for playing slide guitar. Junior Brown is one of the best living steel guitar players. (Check out his song "Broke Down South of Dallas" or Freeborn Man) For Loretta, I'd suggest One's On The Way
Also, he should check out Junior Brown's 'Highway Patrol'. Junior Brown is a living legend. I'm surprised that there aren't any reactions to his music.
@@user-zh6mh2zk4h I've only seen one or two reactions to Junior Brown's stuff. But he is amazing.
Hey... have you heard of the new group "Chapel Hart"? They were on America's Got Talent last year (I recommend you check that one out too!) and came in 5th place. At their audition, they sang an original they wrote called "You can have him Jolene" in response to Dolly Parton's song "Jolene" and all 5 judges put their hands together and gave them a golden buzzer because by that time, all the judges had used up their golden buzzer choices. After their audition, Dolly Parton commented on their social media about their performance, and Loretta Lynn commented shortly after and asked if the ladies from Chapel Hart could redo one of her songs, and they did a remake of Fist City and included Loretta Lynn's name in their song. Loretta Lynn passed away last year, but this song Fist City that they do is a tribute to her. These ladies are from Mississippi, and they have MANY original songs they have written, as well as songs from different music genres... you will love them... oh, and after their performance, they were invited to sing at the Grand Ole Oprey many times! Lots of videos on you tube if you are interested... you will be surprised!! My favorite song on their channel is "American Pride "
Check them out on their You Tube channel "Chapel Hart", they also have a website at Chapelhart.com, to see their tour dates if you are interested! I like your reactions... 😊 have a great day!
Love Loretta. R.I.P
I absolutely love your reactions 😂❤
This was one of my moms favorite songs, she sounded like her and sang in a local band here in town. This is my childhood
Loving your reaction!😊
Did you notice she sang this song with a big smile that is how a Southern woman do
Facts ❤ lol
The show was the Wilburn bros which she was a regular on for awhile and the man talking was Doyle Wilburn
Wonderfully fun!
And at only 5'2" tall I suspect that little coal miners daughter could've landed a wash-woman, hay-maker swing that would put a big man on the ground. At between 13 and 16, depending on who's telling the story, she married Oliver 'Doolittle' Lynn who was 21. She definitely deserved better but loved him till the day he died and beyond. The world of country music has lost one of its greatest treasures. From the hard life in Butcher Holler Kentucky to stardom in Nashville Tennessee she never lost that honest spirit that made her the Queen of County Music. Thank you Miss Loretta for the memories.
Edit
The name 'Lynn' is pronounced like 'Linn'
She wrote songs about her life so this song is true
Steel guitar... one of the neatest instruments out there.
I knew you’d find this one eventually. She’s got a MASSIVE catalog. Thanks. Always fun.
She has a lot of great song tracks. Go and research some of her albums.
If you haven't watched it you should "Coal Miners Daughter movie. It is really good and you will get a good representation of why she wrote her songs the ways she did.
She wrote all of her songs
AB have you listened to any of Randy Travis' music? You'll love it. Its smoking!
That show she was on was The Wilburn Brothers Show. They were Teddie and Doyle.
Steel guitar and traditional country always has one played.
That's how we do it in Kentucky.We don't play.😊
Maaaaaaaan, it made me so happy to see you react to this. I love Loretta! You should check out The Pill (it was banned from radio) and her duet with Conway Twitty, You're the Reason Our Kids are Ugly.
We lost a treasure last year when Loretta Lynn died at the age of 90. The Queen of Country Music. She had too many hits to name, but check out "One's on the Way"
She wrote all her songs.
You should watch a Loretta and Conway Twitty funny one called, You’re the Reason Our Kids are Ugly. Really cute song.
Wonderful
It was The Wilburn Brothers show. She was a regular.
that instrument you asked about is a steel guitar they use in country music
You should listen to Loretta Lynn’s “The Pill”. I’d also like to see your reaction to Reba McEntire’s “Whoever’s in New England”.
It is called a steel guitar, they use them all of the time in Country music.
I'm sooo dead! A country piano 💀🤣
The instrument is called a steel guitar. Started disappearing in the 80's.
That was from the Wilburn Brothers show.
The show was The Wilburn Brothers.
