Can’t help but think these buses (and I’ve seen similar on rural roads elsewhere) are far too unsuitable and large for the types of roads they are using. They should be smaller sizes for the width and narrowness of the roads.
I mean, when you're on the top deck, the branches bouncing off the front of the bus can feel a bit alarming. But while it feels like it shouldn't work, somehow it always does!
One of the main reasons this route is so successful (and has a half hourly frequency in summer) is the use of open top double deck vehicles though. In summer, it also needs the capacity. They've been using double deck vehicles on this route now for around 25 years so I don't think it's an issue.
