I’m an RN at a hospital in southern OR commented on a man’s Born and Raised sweater.... said I love those guys’ videos. His reply, “I used to work with Cody at North River Boats” that led to a conversation about my dad being a boat mechanic and knowing all about boats... #bringingpeopletogetherthroughtheoutdoors!

It’s crazy sitting at the bar talking hunting with people I️ don’t even know and they’ll say ‘there’s this video series out there, land of the free. Have you seen it?’ This is a great series guys, thanks for extending all of our seasons.

Hi guys - I was watching a HUSH video the other day. The ones where Trent and his daughter were up in Alaska with Casey and Gage. It got me thinking back to these LoF series and I decided to check it out from day 1 of this series. Hush and Dirk/Elk 101 were hilarious so am looking forward to seeing the Colorado trip! As you can guess, I'm hooked (again), haha. So with that, I look forward to watching these series thru to current day over the next few weeks. Well, who am I kidding? It'll probably take me a week and a half.
I tend to have a lot of time to watch shows, etc. and UA-cam is a favorite of mine. I'm disabled from a spine/cord injury about 13 years ago. I've never shot a gun but always wanted to go hunting. It never happened for me, but man would I have loved to. My neighbour shot her first moose this past season. Talk about a cool story and a freezer full of meat. She sent over a couple of moose steaks for me and boy were they delicious!
So, Trent, Treavor, Kody and Steve (and any newcomers I've not yet learned about), congratulations on all of your success. You have a great thing going and I wish you all the success you could dream of in and out of the elk woods!
    Sincerely,
    Heather🇨🇦

Your videos are my new evening ritual. I hit play and as soon as the theme music plays, my 2 yr old daughter comes running over to watch, yelling " Elk, Elk, Wash Elk!!" Thanks so much for what you do! I'm a first time(serious) hunter at age 36, trying to get a white tail! You guys are an inspiration. You're doing what I'm doing on public land and it ain't easy, but I love it. Keep up the great work and great things will happen!

Cody, I met your uncle duck hunting at Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge. I was telling him about my bull and he asked if I've heard of you guys...Heck yeah I said!
Love what you guys are doing and enjoy how the film is not trying to win a videography award. Keep it up.

So..i was checking out the exo packs and found a link back to this video....MAN I loved this series the first time around and can't wait for this years version. I just got back from my elk hunt for 2018. We didn't connect but we took Trents advice and bought tags!! We got drawn for wy and I drove 15.5 hours up there to hunt with my friends. Thank you so much for pushing me over the edge to finally make it happen. It felt great to get back out there. We encounted some series conditions. Packed in about 2 miles after a snowstorm. Slept in a floorless shelter and we got down to teens on the first night. Had to clear a lot of snow just to get my shelter set up. Had issues with stakes holding on one side because they weren't even going in the ground....LOL..they were buried in the snow. Yep....it got deep. Had to use logs to hold them down. First morning hunt was dealing with knee deep snow in some places. Thank god I packed my gaiters! I did get minor frostbite on my feet though I think. I have had numbness in my feet since ive returned and its been about a week now. Other than that, and not being in good enough shape, we had a blast!!!

I just have to say, THIS IS THE BEST HUNTING SERIES OUT THERE!! BAR NONE, HANDS DOWN. I can't wait every night for the next episode. Epic times with the brotherhood, my wrestling teams are the same way. We have a Viking brotherhood. I'm so jealous how close you guys are though. I would love to have such close hunting buddies. Keep it up, I'm absolutely loving it.

I'm 'Not' A Big Game Hunter, I was a '49' States & Canada truck driver for thirty two years I was never around, shot a lot with shotgun and small game with my trusty slingshot, ya I know I'm a pansy but I was always looking for a meal or two since I started backpacking at the young age of '12' (long story, 'great for me' circumstances, one being a supportive Father)! I trucked with several 'big game guides,' I heard many stories of them calling in big trophy bulls both Archery & Rifle (I've always had tons of respect for the much more challenging 'Bow Hunter' then shooting an animal from a mile away!!), they're stories of "how close to you would they come in?" "Close enough to reach out and touch them as the both run or slowly walk by, thank goodness for 'y'all' filming your hunts, ass I've watched all of y'all as you've called trophy bulls in close I now can picture them guiding 'Professional Hunters' like Y'all truly enjoying your hobby, craft & skills! Yes I've subscribed and clicked the bell for 'all' of your updates! Y'all be safe & well!! : )

This was a treat. I got hooked on Steve's Hunt Backcountry Podcast last year while recovering from rotator cuff surgery. I then went out and promptly tore the labrum and delaminated the cartilage of both hips, eliminating my second straight hunting season and putting all future ones in question.
I'm recovering from the second hip surgery now and have to ride an hour a day on the stationary bike. Born & Raised is helping me through it. Thank you so much, guys and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families.

Coming from a guy that looks forward to hunting season every year and I have killed some good Elk and Mule deer. I can tell you that you guys are really an inspiration! You guys bust your butts, work hard and show the true reasons we hunt! You guys show that with hard work even the least desirable tags can be fantastic hunts! Great work and I will continue to watch every episode of Land OF The Free!

Love your land of the free series. I have been watching every day, and telling all my hunting buddy's about it. I love the style of filming. I too really enjoyed the "2 weeks in purgatory" filming. Especially when I was first learning to hunt. I just couldn't stand the videos just showing the the kill and the celebration, it just doesn't show the build up and all the hard work before and after. I love the prayers too. Keep it up, and take me with you next year, still trying to get my first elk.

I have to say I have had a similar experience with the Solid broad heads. I shot a bull last year and was sure I "smoked" him just like Steve said. I was only finding trickles of blood and starting to get really discouraged. Thinking I had possible hit "the void" or maybe too far back because he took a step. After hands and knees searching for blood my hunting partner says "Turn around." And my bull was piled up dead no more than 200 yards from where I had shot him. The internal hemorrhage the Solid produces gets the job done nicely. My arrow went in low ribcage and came out high shoulder on the other side. The blade went through the shoulder blade and I never did find my arrow anywhere. Thats a good head in my opinion. Congrats again to Steve on a first day bull.
