Sorry this took so long, but I really worked hard on this one. Hope it shows. There's plenty more I should have put in as well, but I either forgot about it or didn't have time to include. Like how I didn't mention that the Ubisoft cell towers were removed (thank god!). Or how Miles' invisibility power is completely irrelevant. But I had to release the video eventually, and I'm still proud of how it turned out. But enough about me: what did YOU think about Spider-Man 2? Anything you majorly disagree with me on?
At the end of the day, it is your opinion but everytime I see a video like this, it's just like yall be saying the same thing everyone else says and it kinda shows
I love the game, but from the moment Peter fights with MJ, i think everything Falls apart, the story goes from "AYOOOOO BULLY YURI IS CRAZYYYYY" to "HOW DA FUCK AREN'T THE AVENGERS HERE" in such a fast time that makes me wanna die, cuz I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH
@DoritoGOD2811 No, I did, it's just the fact that you're saying some of the same things others content creators were saying. I can give you a list of them if you would like
The symbiote gradually using and twisting May’s words to manipulate Peter is a fantastic idea, wow. Two grieving brothers falling victim to a false extension of their mother figures is a wonderful twist on the usual post-TAS “symbiote make me mad” thing. There’s so much nuance there for the picking! It’s a shame that it’s only used for Harry and still ends with Harry not even having agency within the suit. Pain
I don’t interpret the symbiote changing them as being angry or inherently evil.. I always saw it like it gives you the strength and a clear path to follow to achieve what you wanted deep down when it merged with the host
Unfortunately they didn’t take their time to actually build on peter giving up to his dark side because of it.. those interactions were amazing but so rushed. If that game had more 10 hours of story could be a true masterpiece
I think the arms wouldn't have been so bad if the story had at least made a token effort to explain them. Like, have Peter mention that he built the arms out of some leftover Octavius tech that the police hadn't confiscated. Have him bemoan that he tried to sell them, but no company wanted to touch it because of the tech's association with Otto. Even if it hadn't been an airtight explanation, it at least would've been something so that broke ass Peter Parker didn't just make some super-advanced robot arms out of nothing like it is in the game.
🤦♂️😒how many times are people not really paying attention Peter and Otto made the arms and after Otto when to the raft Peter decide to make his own arms but however not with the neural interface controlling his mind
@@trooper9249Note that Peter canonically made a gravity defying gadget with no advanced technology but Peter wouldn't get to have any of the resources from the lab because it'd be taking away evidence that would be used against Otto
@@Batmanvideos84789The neural link doesn't control the mind. It affects the mind in multiple parts of the brain that can severely change how a person acts such as affecting their moods, personality when it's only supposed to be an add-on to the part of your brain that allows you to move your limbs.
Giving Miles the symbiote is such a simple idea, but it has so much potential. The younger and less experienced Spider-Man, who's still angry about his father's death, and the older Spider-Man, who has gone through similar events and wants to help him, while Miles tries pushing him away would be such a fresh premise for a symbiote story.
True but then they’d have to unnerf Peter so he could beat miles but knowing this dev team miles would probably save himself and tell Peter he’s too white to be Spider-Man and that he should retire in the old age that is the prime of his life he’s in.
It's so odd to me how I keep seeing Miles hyped up to be some "Spider-man but better" when I was always under the impression that Miles had abilities the differed from the OG Spider-man. I was once told that Miles had weaker Physical strength than Peter due to getting his powers from a different spider but had additional abilities to cover for this lack of physical prowess. Did I miss something in the comics with Miles because I always thought that Miles was supposed to be similar to Peter but still different enough to stand out as an individual.
@@godfrey4461 Lol he was respected perfectly fine in the game. Fans just get incredibly insecure whenever Miles gets some attention or god forbid he does something cooler or better than Peter.
"A good thing can have bad aspects." Completely agree. In this world, people either blatantly hate on something or call it the best thing of all time. Im glad you called it a good game while acknowledging flaws it had, even if I didn’t necessarily agree with all of them.
@@abdulazizmohammed8797 hey probably bought a ps5 for the sole purpose of playing this . Then bought the collectors edition Ps5- 300 to 500 dollars Collectors edition - 100
I'm really glad you touched on the whole MJ face situation. Of course it's awful her model was harassed over it, but that doesn't make her looking incredibly odd an invalid complaint. Especially when you look at pics of her model irl (even after the accident) who looks much better
I knew there was something off in her appearance but couldn’t quite place it. Something in her eyes made it seem like she was looking past Peter, but it could just be my perspective. Shame the actress was harassed over it though. People should learn to keep nasty criticism locked up in the brain.
she wasn't harassed and had other things happening just another smear move to say "audience critiquing is bad" that media always does just consume product
That may be because they knew that Silk would be in the next game. Her whole thing is that she has organic webbing (like bully maguire) so she's probably gonna have web based abilities. It just wouldn't make sense for 2 characters to have the same kind of abilities.
@@bydlakbolszewik847 so butcher the MC of the franchise to make way for a tertiary character? The iron arms aren’t even integrated into the story or gameplay, it’s haphazard bs.
Actually, I think it's the best opportunity for Miles story. Like, he never interested how he get his powers? Or Peter and MJ never searched it or asked Miles about it? And it actually can ties Miles with Norman in the next game. Maybe it's will be one of plotpoints in the future (which I doubt), but it still looks like missed opportunity
Honestly I think everyone's faces look really weird in this game. Not necessarily the structure of the face, but the way it moves. Their mouths seem to open really wide, and its just really offputting.
@@The-No-one If it were to me, I would keep the spider arms as his ultimate move (the Anti-Venom suit would be given to Flash so he can be Agent Anti-Venom), and then give him non-spider arm abilities.
Man, if MJ can go Doom Eternal on entire bases and raiding parties of hunters and Symbiotes after just a few training sessions with Silver Sable and wielding just a glorified taser, imagine the kind of shit she could do after 24 hours of training with Shang Chi and a handgun. She'd be folding Goku like an omelette
I don't know why they didn't just have Silver Sable be the playable female character. Everyone would buy her running around kicking the crap out of anyone in her way. They seem obsessed with forcing Mary Jane into the game as an action hero instead of using any of the other female characters people would like to play as (Black Cat, Silver Sable, and Yuri)
@@malickdibba3552 Silver Sable, Yuri, and Black Cat all have significantly more justification to be playable than Mary Jane. They had to break any sense of logic just to have MJ be Doom Guy just to force playable segments for her.
@@coolman229 they really don't. Again, they are not important to the story, MJ is. So they don't have justification to be playable since they are not one of the main characters in the story
Maybe the arms materialising is based on Tinkerer's tech from Miles Morales? It actually could have been a neat way to tie both previous games into this one a bit more.
Holy shit man I'm a big fan of your stuff But uh yeah, um whether or not the arms are based off Tinkerer's programmable matter from MM is never stated. At least not that I saw.
I can’t stand insomniac Peter for the reasons you stated, thought I was going mad seeing everyone say he’s the best. Insomniac turned up the goody two shoes-ness to 11 with him. No backbone whatsoever, the kind of guy who’d apologise if he caught MJ cheating on him.
LMAO sad but accurate, I like how he's literally the only person who apologizes for his behavior with the symbiote when it's established that it's more of a parasitic creature that takes over your mind (at least that's what it seemed like, their conception of the symbiote was really incoherent). Compare that with MJ whose words and actions are completely 100% validated when she becomes scream, despite the fact that its not even her whose consciously saying those things. She doesn't apologize at all for anything, she's 100% in the right all the time while Peter is constantly apologizing as he gets beat up, nice one-sided therapy session lol
@@marveldcmaaz Im pretty sure MJ tries to apologize but Peter says it's ok becuase it wasn't really her. It's one of the things we love about spiderman, that he is such a nice person. And Scream just brought out the hidden thoughtd of MJ just like the symbiote did to Peter during his boss battle with Miles.
@@malickdibba3552 no one said he shouldn't be a nice person. But, how "nice" can a person be while still feeling like a human being with a range of emotions and a limit, especially someone like peter, who has to deal with the shit he deals with on a day to day basis. It's just not buyable that this type of person would be THIS positive, then turn THAT cartoonishly negative with the symbiote
My biggest criticism of the story is also that several things were rushed &/or underdeveloped. The game is as long as the first game however, it could've stood to be several hours longer to make sure they had a sufficient amount of time to properly flesh everything out. The first game was able to do that, so I don't see how this game couldn't, especially with Sony & Insomniac throwing even more money at it.
Yea especially with the symbiote invasion. I feel that needed a lot more attention put into it and thought the Scream boss would have set up other bosses with Venom’s children (which I hear did have almost finished models at least for riot). I also think Venom himself needed more exploration by giving him more missions, give us time to see what’s going on in Harry’s mind and explore the symbiote itself.
That is my single biggest criticism about the game, everything just feels so rushed. The opening mission is great, but then everything else is just kinda meh
Hrm, I don't mind the Spider-Arms in concept. My only issue with them is them is the fact they're nanotech that just materializes out of nowhere. If they came from the suit like how it works with the round bit on the back of the Iron Spider suit, I would like it more. But it feels like Insomniac didn't WANT to design their suit to accommodate the arms so they just said "Eh screw it, nanotech!" I have the exact same problem with the web-wings. I LOVE Spider-Man designs with web-wings like the original design, and wish they were more common... But in this game they're a gameplay mechanic that only appears WHEN you're using them. I'd much rather they be a part of the actual main suit's design.
The MCU did the same for Spider-Man's web wings and keep in mind, it's not far fetched that Peter can make nanotech since he canonically made a gravity defying gadget out of basic technology.
@@tTaseric Yes but remember my last idea, it's not far fetched that he can't develop nano tech since he can literally make gravity defying gadgets out of scrap.
My headcannon is that the robot arms where built by reverse engineering the tinkerers technology, that would explain why he never sold them and how they seem to dissappear into his back
Venom riding a bicycle makes this a 10/10 game of the year Edit: I would like to retract my statement because I have just witnessed ,,that,, miles suit
One of my biggest problems with the mechanical arms is you get no ultimate and the mechanical arms just feel weaker so when I was playing I was just waiting for symbiote powers and when fully upgraded miles just felt better to play than Peter from time to time
I’m so glad you brought up Peter’s and Miles’ personality issues. Peter having a temper and having very clear flaws makes him INTERESTING. Of course he’d be frustrated and angry at the world sometimes with all the shit he has to deal with as Spider-Man, and having to constantly make the right decision when it hurts him in the end. It actively makes him less relatable, because nobody is a kissass goody two shoes. And Miles, Miles in ITSV works so well because he’s a good kid, but he’s also a rebel. He wants to do his own thing, he breaks the law with graffiti, he can be disrespectful, he acts like he’s grown but he’s still just a kid. Insomniac gives none of that depth to either of them
I don’t think the ending was implying that Peter was retiring as Spider-Man. I think they were conveying it more as taking a break. A kind of tag out mentality. Honestly I think Miles had the weaker conclusion to his story in the end because it didn’t connect to Miles(s) struggle in the rest of the game. Because for the entire story. Miles has been so eager to do Spider-Man stuff & find Mister Negative. So much so that he leaves nostalgic of his conversations with his friends by saying ‘I gotta do Spider-Man stuff’. Which o thought was Miles rushing into his role of Spider-Man too quickly. Like his lesson would be to not take the people in his life for granted. Because if being Spider-Man has taught Peter anything. It’s that his loved ones will eventually get wrapped up in the conflict as well. But at the end of the game. Miles(s) ultimate takeaway from this experience is. He needs to become Spider-Man full time. Which isn’t a bad idea conceptually. For Peter’s sake I think it works because after loosing two best friends to actions he was a part of. I get that he would want a rest of from the mental tole of being Spider-Man. But from Miles(s) perspective. It didn’t feel right at all.
lets be real, it very much is either he dies next game to pass it to miles and Silk or in turn he fails to beat goblin and Miles wins so he retires anyway Insomniac is never giving him his proper due
I pictured the game having them take turns. Say Peter has an importanting meet, so Miles swings around. Miles has graduation practice, Peter swings around. And by doing that, sharing the responsibility, they can both maintain important things in their lives. Its what I imagined when Peter and Miles were talking in MS1 dlc. For instance, at the start of the game, instead of both going to confront Sandman, only Miles goes. That way, Sandman is stopped and Peter keeps his job.
i was there for those streams, and i agree majorly, i would take the first game over this one story wise. it feels so rushed and it all happens so haphazardly that i didn’t engage in it at all. when the important parts did happen they didn’t feel important or you knew it was gonna happen from the beginning and you can’t even take the ending seriously cause at the apex right before they go get the meteorite miles asks the deaf girl out for dinner. its impossible to believe this games story follows up the previous one.
Story for Spider-Man 2 story is amazing too but yeah the story for the first one is a bit better (the only thing that the first one got that's better). But better game overall is Spider-Man 2
@@stevenceja4706 I'm certain that this game's story needed to be two separate games, one about the Black Suit, then after game three, have that be when Venom appears and dedicate a game to that story
@slipstreamtechnician2811 Personally, I think there were 2 ways that the story could have been better. 1. They should have scrapped Kraven as a villain altogether and had him become more of an anti-hero hero instead. One reviewer pitched the idea of being able to play as Kraven and actually being able to hunt the other super villains rather than killing him off-screen, which I think was a great idea. Then he becomes a temporary ally during the symbiote invasion, then becomes a boss fight towards the end because he's trying to kill Venom while Peter and Miles are trying to save Harry. 2. Norman was secretly selling the breakthroughs from the EMF foundation to the highest bidder because helping people really isn't profitable. Harry finds out and is outraged, and then when the foundation is destroyed, Harry is hit with a double-edged sword because EMF wasn't actually real and he watches it go up in smoke. Which would add depth to him becoming Venom.
2:01:23 this happens in miles game too (ps4 in my case) The good thing is that you can choose the crime in the app, and not depend on it appearing randomly.
Your criticisms in the story were very accurate and they express things other UA-camrs I watched (such as Whitelight) didn't. Not because they weren't comprehensive, but because there is so much wrong with this story that it will feel wrong to different people in different ways. Such a shame when the 2018 story is so good. I enjoy watching videos like these because I have a particular taste in stories but not always I can identify why I liked or didn't like something. It requires analysis I'm not willing to do but you're excelling at. Thank you for the video! Subscribed.
Honestly they scrapped too much of the story that could have given proper character development to add in a bunch of side missions that were meant to "please" people
I figure that symbiote looks like tactical armor on Harry because of the SWAT looking Oscorp guys that were present with Doctor Connors when it arrived.
Personally didn't like the wings at all. I always viewed them as stupid even when I saw them in the comics. Yes spiderman fanboys go off doesn't change how dumb the concept is.
I smiled at the Wraith part because right when I was thinking in my head "this costume looks like it came out of the CW superhero shows" you referenced the arrowverse
I think the game is hard carried by many 11/10 voice performances and immaculate casting, it's a shame the script, story, and execution don't match up to it.
I feel like the whole reveal of the Symbiote being an alien was more for comic fans then anything. Because before this hame came out. I saw a lot of people presuming that they were going the Ultimate route for the Symbiote where it’s synthetic creature created in a lab instead of coming from space. So the reveal of it being an alien was a way to stamp that version out of the question. But yeah, from the perspective of someone who only watches the movies or shows. The Symbiote almost always comes from space so it doesn’t really impact general audiences that much.
Its crazy how I literally finished Guardians of the galaxy yesterday and got recommended your video today. GOTG is amazing! I found you connecting the Promise with the ‘healing the world’ thing really cool.
This and Whitelight’s critiques of the game are my favourite I’ve watched. The graphical performance is stunning and I’ll spend many evenings swinging through the city in the Raimi suit with a big smile on my face, but the story left me infinitely more whelmed than I expected. Even with the new update, I’m not remotely eager to replay the main campaign in New Game +, which wasn’t an issue with the previous two games.
Yeah, I remember my first NG+ playthrough being a massive slog because I hate the parts where you have to play as regular people. The Hailey mission was cute the first time around, but having to do it every time I want to 100% the game again is awful.
Okay... I didn't comment on this yet cuz I was so worn out from repeatedly voicing my criticisms of this game's story (especially the symbiote storyline), that I figured I wouldn't be able to leave much of an insightful comment.... I still can't cuz I don't feel like writing another essay so this one's for the algorythm lol. And to tell you that this honestly might be my favourite video made on this game so far. Right along with Whitelights. It's perfectly scripted and you make a ton of fantastic points that left me quite satisfied after having to endure the universal dickriding of the story for the initial month or two. Just sucks that I don't own a PS5 so I haven't been able to say much about the gameplay yet. From what I've seen it does look like a significant improvement in many ways, but there's also a lot of missed opportunities. I made an entire video on why the parkour sucks and how it needs to be improved, yet from what I've seen it remains essentially entirely unchanged
Thanks for the kind words man. Whitelight is a huge inspiration for me, so to hear my work in the same breath as his is an immense compliment. I'll watch that video of yours on the parkour since it sounds interesting.
@@DoritoGOD2811 Yeah his channel is incredible. There's some standout vids of his where I have no clue how he even wrote them. You wouldn't expect something like that 3 hour Arkham City review to stay consistently witty and interesting throughout. He did a good job splitting up the gameplay discussions there in a way where it wouldn't be too frontloaded? Idk, certainly not every game review should be scripted that way, but it was very interesting. ANYWAY! Glad that the comparision felt good lmao. Your video turned out wonderful, one could really tell cared to get this one the best it could be
Yeah, but that's the thing, this isn't really a mediocre game. Dorito God at the end states that the game is genuinely good but has too many issues that hold it back from being truly great.
13:00 I 99% agree with you about the arms. They feel unnecessary next to the symbiote moves, and the game makes no mention of when Peter accomplished inventing them or why he didn’t profit off of them (like you said) and it really does stand out in a game where the narrative feels pretty tight. But in Miles Morales (the game) the villains also use “programmable matter”, their stuff materialized out of thin air too.
I think they should have kept the old gadgets but add the ability to create loadouts so you don't have to use the weapon wheel. Man I miss the web trip mine
I was wondering what you were going to do once your costume and skin videos were done but This is definitely your best video!!! I appreciate all of your hard work constructing this.
This is actually a video I agree with. Like I cant really argue with a lot of your points . You’re very articulate with explaining the game and made me think several times about plot holes i didnt think about
You make several amazing points within the video, but I have a few counterpoints on some bits, and I welcome any feedback/thoughts on this. 1) I feel the relationship between Harry and Norman is practically nonexistent for a narrative purpose; Norman being a businessman, while having such high expectations for Harry, goes to show he doesn’t express emotion very well (except that scene after the Emily May foundation exploding) which makes sense that Norman doesn’t appear much besides certain points 1.5) Norman being so affectionate towards Peter makes sense because his son being hinted at as very sheltered, and Peter being his best and longest friend would mean Norman would be overly thankful for Peter being in Harry’s life 2) Peter and Harry’s relationship doesn’t seem too close because, in my opinion, with Harry being in the test tube for so long while the others thought he was abroad on a trip, will put a hinder on their friendship (and I feel the not telling Harry about being Spider-Man was more of a not having a good chance to before Harry finds out later on) 3) While I do agree that it makes more sense that the symbiote should only make Peter’s bad qualities increasingly forced, it seemed that the Symbiote corrupting his thoughts with the added stress through the story (saving Dr. Connors and Harry from dying) because this adaptation of Venom was less of ‘want spiderman’ and more of ‘symbiote uprising’ similar to the Absolute Carnage comics (may be wrong but the general idea) 4) I think Miles’ place in the story for Peter/Symbiote Peter is more of a reflection of Peter’s good side and what the effects of his positive influence in contrast to Peter’s issue of knowing what’s him and what’s the symbiote 5) I think Miles’ and Peter’s relationship on face value is less of a mentor/student (which I think is mainly the cover up story to keep identities hidden even though Peter does technically teaches Miles) and more of their own individual Spider-Men, not as much full partners but teammates nonetheless, like their each their own individuals 6) (This one may fully be personal bias) Venom was good in this game for this adaptation, not in relation to the original comic Venom. Because being in Harry’s mind, who’s only goal was to heal the world, and after bonding with Peter who has a strong sense of ‘justice’ (could be the wrong word to use but closest one I can find atm) But with those traits added to his more alienistic roots from the meteorite makes sense narratively that he adapts both ideals to his goal of ‘symbioting the earth’ 6.5) I think Harry getting Venom is the best choice because of the growth of mistrust and rue of Peter from Harry’s view of betrayal (symbiote going to Peter then Peter wanting to destroy it instead of returning the only think keeping Harry alive) adds to Venom’s aggression. 7) I fully agree that Harry isn’t in control past the scene where Venom attacks MJ at the house, and that Venom assumes full control while Harry has no cognitive control, because the basis of Venom’s symbiotic relationship of using its host as more of a body puppet that feeds off Harry. The scene of Harry’s confusion of his face reveal late game is a moment of relief from Venom’s control after being hurt badly 8) The Symbiote being a ‘man-made exosuit’ does sort of make sense as a beginning explanation, mostly because we weren’t shown any evidence of alien life prior to this game, so the surprise of it being an alien feels more for the characters in the game rather than the player itself. (Also Connors saying ‘We call it a Symbiote’ was a bad choice imo, he should’ve said something along the lines of ‘It has the characteristics of a symbiote’) 9) Venom bonding to Harry first instead of Peter is a good choice purely because the Symbiote was ‘created’ to be a heal-all for Harry’s disease, but it seeing Peter being Spider-Man develops a desire to be with Peter and have his abilities allows for the powers and abilities to truly come out when Venom officially forms 10) The anti-venom suit does come off as Miles’ accomplishment, but I think that is more as a showing of Miles pulling Peter out of his dark place as Peter influenced Miles to not kill Li Again, I agree with a lot of the points and criticisms you pointed out, but some points should be more of a ‘read between the lines’, though it should have had more face value plot points
Thanks for taking the time to watch the vid and write out such a thorough response. I'll address your points one by one: 1) What expectations does Norman have of Harry? Outside of "stay alive", Norman doesn't seem to want or expect anything from him. 1.5 ) Yes Norman's reaction to Peter is sensible. It's certainly a little strange given how little they've interacted across the series, but Norman's in severe emotional distress so it makes sense for him to act that way in that scene. What is NOT sensible is Harry getting mad about it. 2) Your point here is just not correct. Harry and Peter's relationship IS close. That is the intended reading of the relationship as presented by the story. They just don't FEEL like they are, which is a failing on the part of the writing. 3) Not sure what you're trying to say here. I am fully aware that this take on the symbiote is focused on the symbiote uprising/invasion/takeover. That's just a very boring direction to take symbiotes, and Venom in particular. 4) Maybe if Miles had a larger presence in the story, I'd agree with this. But it simply does not feel that way due to how disconnected Miles is with the central narrative. 5) I... I guess? Even if that is the case, as I said in the video, the Peter boss fight hinges on the relationship between the characters. Which doesn't work because they are too separate from each other, as you said, individuals and not full partners. 6) Subjective of course, but I'd have to disagree that Venom was good here. Even ignoring the comic version of the character, Venom in this game is the most basic "take over the world" type of villain, and I found him to be incredibly boring. Visually impressive, but boring as a character. And your point on the symbiote warping Harry's "heal the world" mission statement is incorrect. Harry and Peter don't influence the symbiote, that's a misconception. I think I addressed this in the video already, but the symbiote already planned to slime the world the minute it landed on Earth. It parrots back the "heal the world" thing to Harry to make him go along with it, but that was always the idea. Watch Whitelight's video on this game, where he addresses this in further detail. 6.5) This is a conflict born out of miscommunication, which is one of the worst ways to breed conflict. If your story's conflict can be resolved by two people just sitting down and talking it out, then you have a weak conflict. 7) Ok? So you're agreeing with me then, right? 8) Maybe the man-made exosuit explanation could have fooled the common man, but Peter is a super scientist who has worked on advanced prosthetics that connect to the brain. In this game he has nanotech prosthetic arms that materialize out of thin air. Additionally, as I said in the video, he has a chance to examine the symbiote up close. Yet when he sees a clearly organic, morphing exosuit, that is capable of moving, acting, and changing shape/size based on it's wearer's thoughts, it doesn't ring any alarm bells? With all of his scientific knowledge and expertise, he doesn't figure out what it is? He never even suspects that something about it is off? Not believable to me. 9) Not sure what you're trying to say here. 10) Did Peter influence Miles not to kill Li? Peter barely even talks to him about it. That felt more like Jeff Davis and Rio's influence on Miles, not Peter's. Peter even explicitly says that he couldn't have done something like that. Sorry if I come across as mean or harsh, that is not my intention.
Don’t apologize, I appreciate you taking the time to read and counter my counter-points. Once again you make amazing points, and help me see this game in a more neutral basis rather than my Spider-Man fanboy point of view. I truthfully agree with a lot of it, realize a lot of my points are invalid with what you said, and it’s nice having a debate rather than an argument so thank you very much! Also, 7) was me agreeing with you, just kind of putting it there for more of a detailed reason why I agree, and 9) was about venom’s motive in a few adaptations of Spider-Man, I believe somewhat off Sam raimi’s third film, seeming like there was a desire to reunite with Spider-Man after being separated. Love the work you do and the depth you go with your explanations! Much love
The wall crawling is super restrictive especially when you compare the wall crawling to web of shadows. Like we can’t walk around in any direction on the wall and cant wall run downwards and we can’t fight or have combat on walls either. If they had those wall climbing mechanics it would make us feel more like spider-man.
Btw im pretty sure the hunter archers/crossbowers are the ones that throw a electrical field/net in the air. Especially since they’re the ones who also shoot regular nets at spider-man too.
Parry system can feel satisfying but it does feel iffy. And my biggest issue is that that the indicators for parry-only and dodge-only attack appears above the enemy, when the regular spider sense doesnt. And if im not wrong, i think it also uses regular spider sense on spiderman in addition to special indicators for the special attacks. Like i think maybe they should've all only been shown on spiderman or all on the enemies
They should've just made Peter the main playable character especially since they're adapting the black suit spider man storyline which requires Peter to be the main focus. Honestly im getting sick of venom why didn't they go for carnage being the main villain.
I disagree with your assessment of Carnage. Carnage represents real life monsters who kill people for no reason other than they think it’s fun. This aspect makes him terrifying and intriguing as a villain.
This video presents a lot of valid criticisms-a chunk of them I share as well. The two points that jumped out at me the most were Peter’s relationships with Harry and Miles. I think Peter and Harry’s friendship was solid. My gripe comes from the Venom storyline seemingly presenting/concluding their “conflict.” Harry being secretly jealous of Peter doesn’t work when the game has to properly introduce Harry to the players. If they saved Venom for a third game, I think that would’ve helped their friendship develop more. As for Miles, their relationship always felt like a big brother-little brother with a significant age gap between them. It’s something I can personally relate to since my brother and I have a similar gap in age. They’re in two distinct phases in their lives so it’s hard to relate naturally to one another. What brings them together is their similarities in values and being Spider-Man. They feel like coworkers at times because in a lot of ways they are lol. They’re both Spider-Man and have to share the city together. One is more preferred to the other in certain situations therefore they have to respect each other’s boundaries. The game keeps them apart due to the narrative structure, but Miles reminds me of a little brother who just wants to hang out with his bro while his bro is out with his friends lol.
My biggest problem with the Finale was that it made no sense for miles to be the final one to fight Venom. They literally had no chemistry and the game makes multiple points about his
What becomes unintentionally funny is the fact that some of the dialogue in that fight actually points out some of the flaws in the story. Venom: You're holding Pete back! It's true, Peter was nerfed just to give Miles something to do. Venom: You were Jealous of us! Miles: What are you talking about? Seriously, what are you talking about about? You two barely speak to each other twice. 😂😂😂
1:02:56 There's a (random?) chance that Harry will come to help you if you're fighting people as Miles. Very easily missable and I'm astonished that it wasn't an actual part of the main story.
one thing i’m hopeful of in years to come would be a remaster of this game, but they explore more of the story and add some extra content, would be amazing tbh
It may be a stupid nitpick but is it just me or are Peter's shoulders not as broad as they used to be? I had been feeling that since I saw gameplay for this game, and I think the Suits section of this video helps to show that better
58:53 yeah, stuff with Wraith should be Peter in the Black Suit being forced to confront who the Flame are and not wanting to kill Cletus because the Flame makes him a better Spider-Man.
Thank you for the in depth critique, I was on the fence about this game but this review made me reconsider. Most reviews don't explain the important details, keep up the good work. Amazing video!
Imo i liked the idea about peter having no spider legs up untill he left without symbiot. And keep him without abilities untill symbiot. It could be a great opportunity to put miles in more story missions as a main playable character in the first act of story (obviously cause gameplay as Peter would be boring)
While I agree that miles should've had more to do in this story, I would argue that giving him the symbiote is kinda like giving him "all the cool stuff" Like he gets to turn invisible, shoot 2 kinds of lightning AND have the black suit? That's just unfair to Peter, even if he still is the narrative focus, he'd be kinda lame in gameplay. I think making miles more involved in the main plot of the story and not doing this "I am neglecting miles for Harry" and instead including miles and making him form his own friendship with Harry aswell would've been far more effective.
No gas. Love your content, Dorito God. Ik you won't be making MUCH more, but your drip ranking videos were so good that it was worth my permanent investment in your videos
I hate that the story was obviously rushed because there are elements that could have made a great story but the story is pretty bad with those few great ideas that had no time to do anything.
personally I didn’t hate this game. It was great experience and realky felt great in my eyes, but i still kinda get what you mean in some points but not other points. I personally love the story and how it played it. I liked harry and I didn’t mind how the story turned out..
One thing I have to say is that Spider Barrage and Spider Shock should be swapped around. I know it's a small thing, but it's still pretty strange because I enjoy using the spider arms in gameplay. Usually, L1 Square is a directional punch/projectile, L1 Triangle is a directional dash, L1 Circle is an AOE that affects enemies around you, and L1 X (or 'cross') is a jump that lifts other enemies. But.. Spider Barrage affects enemies around itself, and Spider Shock is a directional projectile? The other 2 abilities are normal, so what are we doing here? Also, let's be honest, they only look good with ths Advanced Suit 2.0 or the few suits with their own custom arms and there aren't many ways to fix this. (also also, YES, the mysterio fight was easier than any of the challenges. "keep fighting, keep doubting, it is the only way to defeat him!" Oh really? How about this VENOM PUNCH.") (also also also, when i saw the gameplay trailer, i thought ganke was actually gonna do something in this game. nope, just one mission and he's back to "miles! i got more info on the bad guy!")
@@frogglen6350 now your just lying. the game has 31 missions, 13 in the first act, 10 in the second, and 6 in the third. you get the symbiote in the 2 act, and only 6 missions with it gameplay wise. and in cannon he only has the suit for 3 days.
14:27 I think another way to go about giving Peter more traditional abilities would be to essentially just give him his super moves from Marvel vs Capcom. The ability on square could be Crawler Assault, the one on triangle Maximum Spider, and the one on X be Ultimate Web Throw, and keep the Web Blossom for O.
simple Kraven should've been Venom. and I find it funny how the first game was more mature than this one, when the venom storyline should be the one that is more mature, tackling emotions, addictions, and abuse. oh well like I always thought this game is more for young dumb kids than growing teens and adults. and plays like an interactive movie; you just can't fail.
1:13:52 although what happened to the face modeler for mj is terrible and I have nothing but sympathy for her I feel like if this information came out sooner there wouldn't be as many people saying that mj was turned ugly because insomniac was trying to push some "WOKE" agenda they still would have complained just not as much
@@omoefeasiemo3601 Well, it's more accurate that they supervised the game's writing. And judging by their politics, they most likely were the ones responsible for steering the story into the way it is now.
UA-camrs like you are great cuz you lay out a lot of the critiques I have way better than I could. Agree with all your points and ones I didn’t think of.
The shield enemies are the ones who throw the electric field. As for the story I largely share your sentiment. The opening was strong though which made the rest disappointing. As for Kraven I would've liked to see him *hunt* not have his soldiers do the heavy lifting. Taskmaster in the first game felt like a hunter since he would observe then trap spidey to confront him. I wanted that dialed up to 11. I was attached to Octavius industries and Otto. I felt nothing for the EMF when it was destroyed by the hunters. Edit: I thought I was the only one that thought Yuri's Wraite suit looks like a something out of CW arrow verse. For me this game is around 6.5-7/10.
The stroy is amazing that's why it's nominated for best narrative. The first 2 acts were amazing but the third act was rushed so it could have been an addition 5 hours longer. Kraven was great, Insomiac's take on Kraven is the best Kraven we got in any media. He was way better then Venom in that one.
@@Shahriyararin63 Are you going to show up in every comment section critiquing the game and regurgitate the same "the story amazing that's why it was nominated for game of the year or best narrative" crap? I seriously didn't even need to read your comment to know what you're going to say. The game walked away with nothing it wasn't even second. The story was amazing for *you* others are not move on 🙄.
@@baki484 Whether or not if you're going to read my comment, doesn't matter, just because any form of media is nominated but didn't win any awards doesn't make them bad. Like Horizon games are both nominated but didn't win any awards but they are still amazing nonetheless. Same case here. Marvel's Spider Man 2 story is amazing. Majority loved the story, it's only the third act was rushed. Just like God of War Ragnarok but that's nothing short of amazing.
@@Shahriyararin63 And he continues to regurgitate the same thing. You're like a mosquitoe at this point. If the game was so great you wouldn't be running around telling people it was nominated for game of the year 🤣. Fanboys wouldn't be bitching about people "switching up on the game" after the game awards or at the face of criticism from fellow Spiderman fans even going so far as sh*tting on the older games that still did things better now would they? You guys even eat each other. Don't get me started on how pathetic this fanbase got when all 7 awards were taken by other games and how they got mad at BG3 (a game I'm not into) for being the better game that had devs telling gamers that they shouldn't expect it's level of quality. If it's your game of the year that's fine good on you. It wasn't for me and those critiquing the aspects you're praising now move along the game is good but it's a safe sequel that falls short in some areas when looked at from an objective lense.
@@baki484 because the game is amazing plus it only didnt win any awards because of how much of a crowded marketplace 2023 is. If it was less crowded then Spider Man 2 could have gotten awards in some capacity. I don't have an exact GOTY, if it wins I wouldn't mind if not then that's also fine. It's still a sequel better than the original. Marvel's Spider Man 2 is a better game overall and the story is amazing. Although I will say this, the story for the first one is a bit better (the only thing that the first one got that's better).
I’m not huge into the comics, but the life foundation make great bosses for a video game. Imagine being able to hunt them down as optional bosses to upgrade your black suit, like it’s mega man.
I do like then game but I didn’t like that there was NO new new game+ (sorry, didn’t type that earlier) , no ways to adjust the color of the spider arms to fit the suit and ways to change the symbiote colors from either white to black. You can’t even change the parries to fit what skill set ur using, whether you’re using black/white symbiote, non evolved/evolved venom, or spider arms
The aerial abilities are really useful when paired with the web pits. And I found the jump one to be great with tricks so you can recharge them faster. Since you can get an upgrade that ties their charge rate to your tricks
I think the symbiote should lack responsibility. While Eddie Brock has a twisted sense of responsibility and morals. That way there’s contrast between the two.
I really love your calm and levelheaded review. I’m pretty much agreed with everything you said. Although I will say, I wish there was more stuff like in miles Morales. (Especially with the web zip line and everything added) it seems like you can only do it at the beginning with the hunters imaginary force field areas
I think its funny how everything you say i 100% understand, i don't agree with much of it but i think all of the pros and hype just make me like this game so much, and i like that two people can have different opinions without there being someone getting pissy..... unlike most things in life. Yay
I also hate spider arms. They literally have no logic and leave Peter's addiction to symbiosis having much less impact on the player, If we didn't have the spider arms, when we gained the symbiote powers, we would feel all that strength and power that Peter feels
the electric web comes from the robot dogs and the hunters with basucas, and it comes from the tec from electros vest you can find it in the level with mj in the zoo where peter gets the black suit
I got a hot take if the story doesn’t involve the multiverse than miles as a main/co-lead character doesn’t work. Majority of the iconic Spider-Man stories involve Peter but if the developers want to put miles in a central Peter Parker focused story than they got to moves things around the story to make sense which then makes the story not as good as the source material or he’s barley in the story 🫤 The only story that’s good for both miles and Peter is the introduction of miles or when he becomes Spider-Man with Peter. After that…just having them both around and trying to pick a story which will probably be a Peter Parker story then we’re right back to square one with miles involvement in the story🤷♂️ *Side Note this is just my preference but when miles is in any story with Peter I feel like the writers dumb down Peter to make miles cool or important.
I am totally with you on the Spider Arms. Like...did he...finish Otto's work? Really? Cause that was supposed to change the world. That's why they were doing it. So....Peter finished the work, made it safe, reliable and functional...and kept it for himself!? Then even further developed the tech. And he still can't cover his f*cking rent or whatever? He just REALLY needs a job as a teacher, apparently. Some HERO then, eh? I guess the people who don't have arms just don't count as full humans that could use his help. Peter, take a month, develop your super magical tech so that normal people can have good, reliable prosthetics. Then sell it. You are suddenly so rich you could sit at the same table as Tony Stark. And none of it would be dangerous, or even really weaponize-able, since Peter would be the one holding the patent anyways and he'd be the one controlling what aspect of the tech is even being made available. He doesn't HAVE to give people octo-spider-arms or whatever, just use what you've learned from developing your tech, and apply it to the "civilian" sector. It's literally how 90% of our technology came to be. It's just...man...at this point. Peter is poor, because Peter wants to be poor.
A lot of these comments are fake Spider-Man fans and it shows. Great video, enjoyed listening for the full 2 hours, even if I didn’t agree with some of the minor points you made, 1 point i can agree with you on is that the story/narrative sucks big time whereas the gameplay is the games shining point.
The soundtrack for Sonic Unleashed is so legendary that I hear it constantly in so many videos 😂 loved to hear it here as well! Great video. I felt super underwhelmed about the story and I couldn’t quite explain why. You did an amazing job clearing it all up for me lol it’s too bad insomniac didn’t place more priority on the campaign quality.
You've perfectly articulated my issues with venom specifically. Nothing about him feels venom. It pains me seeing people say this is one of the best interpretations of the character, the sheer amount of insomniac fanboys defending this story is actually blasphemous. If the jump from SM2 to SM3 is similar to 1 to 2, I'm not that interested in a 3rd game tbh
I wonder if they could have taken inspiration from the Venom movies to make Harry more interesting. Wherein the symbiote gives Harry quirks and stuff that make him just more fascinating, like Eddie in the movies, but we aren't let on to what they are until much later. Perhaps Harry's flat personality is actually a thing Harry is aware of, and uses Venom to make him more spontaneous and 'cool'. Venom would be an actual 'friend' to Harry; a coping mechanism. Which would explain why Harry doesn't tell Peter about it nor the fact that it's sentient. This keeps that whole 'toxic ex' angle of Venom's character from various other comics and bits of media but subverts it onto Harry instead. Venom is played almost entirely seriously in this game, which is effective at times. Peter's symbiote moments vs MJ and Miles are really cool (out of context), and Venom's VA does a wonderful job in the latter half of the game, but I think they could have considered embracing the slightly more camp portrayal of Venom we see sometimes.
I miss the days where games could just let you play and skip the BS. Trying to replay this game is infuriating because you’re forced to walk, clean Peter’s house, ride bikes, and play as regular people when you bought the game to be Spider-Man. Smh
@@theraymunator in arkham they atleast allowed to you skip conversations by pressing the Circle or B Button (depending on your platform of choice) if you're referring to him constantly face timing his allies but and cutscenes can be skipped unlike spiderman 2 where there's a cutscene not even 30 seconds after gameplay has started or there's a stupid QTE then a cutscene immediately after. This sticks out in the final mission and no escape. It's an even bigger problem in Spiderman 2's case because I'm skipping 4 cutscenes in a row while others actually unskippable.
@@baki484 Arkham Knight also has unskippable cutscenes or playable sections where you don't really do anything (the flashback to Barbara being shot, Batman mourning her after she "kills herself", the entire sequence of Scarecrow in the zeppelin, etc.). However, this past week or so I've been playing the two games back to back and I have to agree that it's actually way worse in Spider-Man 2 because you get entire MISSIONS where you don't do anything, and some of them are obligatory to complete the story, the most notorious example being Healing the World. God, I fucking hate that stage. Dorito God already stated why the MJ missions suck, but at least you get to do something there; Healing the World is just walking around the EMF and ocasionally solving puzzles. Regardless, I still love replaying both games. I just wish there was a way to compromise between telling a good story and not make it intrusive to the game.
@@theraymunator Yeah I'm just never touching Spiderman 2 for another 3 or years. I genuinely don't have the tolerance for it's obsession with cutscenes for example before the first final mission it has 4 cutscenes before you even get into gameplay. The "heal the world mission isn't the only one" aren't the only problem. Playing as DJ miles was boring as f*ck, the Coney Island section as a whole sucks as well, Kraven's stupid party section, the museum mission as miles and going on a stupid bike ride with Harry followed up by a boring flashback sequnces in attempt to make me like the character. He's nice sure but that's it I still didn't care. No escape is cutscenes galore having a total with 15 cutscenes and one being unskippable when gas fills the room. Cutscenes are the least of the issues I have with this game.
@@theraymunator disagree there isn't much were you don't get to be batman once where your a cop with a gun and once as gordon both short and at the very beginning of the game
Thank you, my issue with the hunt Kraven is doing is that it makes no sense. He is doing everything in his power to have the advantage in the encounter when he should just pull up and fight whoever instead of capturing them with a small army, studying them, and making stuff to counter them. His goal is to die against a worthy opponent and he does everything to not have a fair fight.
Sorry this took so long, but I really worked hard on this one. Hope it shows. There's plenty more I should have put in as well, but I either forgot about it or didn't have time to include. But I had to release the video eventually, and I'm still proud of how it turned out.

The symbiote gradually using and twisting May’s words to manipulate Peter is a fantastic idea, wow. There’s so much nuance there for the picking!
It’s a shame that it’s only used for Harry and still ends with Harry not even having agency within the suit. Pain
Yeah, it reminds me of the Shadow of the Spider comics.
Yo that shit was a great idea 🔥 fucked up which is the point.
I think it could have been cool if when the symbiot spoke to Peter it would be in mays voice
They did “ottos old research really came through for these arms”
@@Bread-Man36 That still doesn't explain where he got the resources to build them.

I used to always blame insomniac but I’ve started to realize it’s Sony rushing these games for the money.
But it feels like Insomniac didn't WANT to design their suit to accommodate the arms so they just said "Eh screw it, nanotech!"
I have the exact same problem with the web-wings. I LOVE Spider-Man designs with web-wings like the original design, and wish they were more common... But in this game they're a gameplay mechanic that only appears WHEN you're using them. I'd much rather they be a part of the actual main suit's design.
One must embrace web-pits 😌
The MCU did the same for Spider-Man's web wings and keep in mind, it's not far fetched that Peter can make nanotech since he canonically made a gravity defying gadget out of basic technology.
@@The-No-one The difference there is that Insomniac Peter doesn't have a superhero billionaire making all his suits for him.
@@tTaseric Yes but remember my last idea, it's not far fetched that he can't develop nano tech since he can literally make gravity defying gadgets out of scrap.
@@The-No-one The gravity gadget from the first game is an optional gadget, and is therefore not canon
My headcannon is that the robot arms where built by reverse engineering the tinkerers technology, that would explain why he never sold them and how they seem to dissappear into his back

One of my biggest problems with the mechanical arms is you get no ultimate and the mechanical arms just feel weaker so when I was playing I was just waiting for symbiote powers and when fully upgraded miles just felt better to play than Peter from time to time
This game may share the title of one of the best Spider-Man’s movies but it sure feels like Spider-Man 3
I’m so glad you brought up Peter’s and Miles’ personality issues. Insomniac gives none of that depth to either of them
I wish venom was making a messed up version of Harry’s dream and he was consciously working with venom instead of being a hostage to venom
When you went into the story, this video really just kicked into a whole nother gear. This ripped.
It didn’t feel right at all.
lets be real, it very much is
either he dies next game to pass it to miles and Silk or in turn he fails to beat goblin and Miles wins so he retires anyway
Insomniac is never giving him his proper due

But better game overall is Spider-Man 2
I just can't help but feel like they sacrificed good story writing in an attempt to "please" everyone
@@stevenceja4706 don't get me wrong. The story we got is good but definitely could have been better

Holy shit Dorito God The Movie
I don’t know why more people don’t mention the Venom form at the end of the fight. Feels like something people would talk about
Personally didn't like the wings at all. I always viewed them as stupid even when I saw them in the comics.
Yes spiderman fanboys go off doesn't change how dumb the concept is.
9:51 wasn't me that suggested that, but I like the idea 😅 Great video!
bro wtf this video is so engaging like your so underrated keep up the good work man
I smiled at the Wraith part because right when I was thinking in my head "this costume looks like it came out of the CW superhero shows" you referenced the arrowverse
A leather suit that offers little to no protection. The CW always had a low budget to work with. What's Insomniac's excuse.
Right now, the video is up for 55 minutes, can't even finish it yet, but it's already a GREAT rewiew!
I would have loved if they added a feature that if you went too fast you could slam into a building and take damage
I played NG+ for the trophy 2 weeks ago didn't bother. The story among other things definitely fell short
Your video turned out wonderful, one could really tell cared to get this one the best it could be
Usually when something is between good and bad people use the word "mediocre"
1) I feel the relationship between Harry and Norman is practically nonexistent for a narrative purpose; Norman being a businessman, while having such high expectations for Harry, goes to show he doesn’t express emotion very well (except that scene after the Emily May foundation exploding) which makes sense that Norman doesn’t appear much besides certain points
1.5) Norman being so affectionate towards Peter makes sense because his son being hinted at as very sheltered, and Peter being his best and longest friend would mean Norman would be overly thankful for Peter being in Harry’s life
2) Peter and Harry’s relationship doesn’t seem too close because, in my opinion, with Harry being in the test tube for so long while the others thought he was abroad on a trip, will put a hinder on their friendship (and I feel the not telling Harry about being Spider-Man was more of a not having a good chance to before Harry finds out later on)
3) While I do agree that it makes more sense that the symbiote should only make Peter’s bad qualities increasingly forced, it seemed that the Symbiote corrupting his thoughts with the added stress through the story (saving Dr. Connors and Harry from dying) because this adaptation of Venom was less of ‘want spiderman’ and more of ‘symbiote uprising’ similar to the Absolute Carnage comics (may be wrong but the general idea)
4) I think Miles’ place in the story for Peter/Symbiote Peter is more of a reflection of Peter’s good side and what the effects of his positive influence in contrast to Peter’s issue of knowing what’s him and what’s the symbiote
5) I think Miles’ and Peter’s relationship on face value is less of a mentor/student (which I think is mainly the cover up story to keep identities hidden even though Peter does technically teaches Miles) and more of their own individual Spider-Men, not as much full partners but teammates nonetheless, like their each their own individuals
6) (This one may fully be personal bias) Venom was good in this game for this adaptation, not in relation to the original comic Venom. Because being in Harry’s mind, who’s only goal was to heal the world, and after bonding with Peter who has a strong sense of ‘justice’ (could be the wrong word to use but closest one I can find atm) But with those traits added to his more alienistic roots from the meteorite makes sense narratively that he adapts both ideals to his goal of ‘symbioting the earth’
6.5) I think Harry getting Venom is the best choice because of the growth of mistrust and rue of Peter from Harry’s view of betrayal (symbiote going to Peter then Peter wanting to destroy it instead of returning the only think keeping Harry alive) adds to Venom’s aggression.
7) I fully agree that Harry isn’t in control past the scene where Venom attacks MJ at the house, and that Venom assumes full control while Harry has no cognitive control, because the basis of Venom’s symbiotic relationship of using its host as more of a body puppet that feeds off Harry. The scene of Harry’s confusion of his face reveal late game is a moment of relief from Venom’s control after being hurt badly
8) The Symbiote being a ‘man-made exosuit’ does sort of make sense as a beginning explanation, mostly because we weren’t shown any evidence of alien life prior to this game, so the surprise of it being an alien feels more for the characters in the game rather than the player itself. (Also Connors saying ‘We call it a Symbiote’ was a bad choice imo, he should’ve said something along the lines of ‘It has the characteristics of a symbiote’)
9) Venom bonding to Harry first instead of Peter is a good choice purely because the Symbiote was ‘created’ to be a heal-all for Harry’s disease, but it seeing Peter being Spider-Man develops a desire to be with Peter and have his abilities allows for the powers and abilities to truly come out when Venom officially forms
10) The anti-venom suit does come off as Miles’ accomplishment, but I think that is more as a showing of Miles pulling Peter out of his dark place as Peter influenced Miles to not kill Li
Again, I agree with a lot of the points and criticisms you pointed out, but some points should be more of a ‘read between the lines’, though it should have had more face value plot points
Thanks for taking the time to watch the vid and write out such a thorough response. I'll address your points one by one:
1) What expectations does Norman have of Harry?
I love it when I give new channels a chance to critique stuff Ive enjoyed and they do a good job. Great video man
Man I love the PS1 version of Venom. "Surf the web, surf the web!". He absolutely cracked me up as a kid.
I actually agree with what you said about Peter's character. He's basically an example of the "Nice Guy" trope.
Missed opportunity to make Kraven bury Spider-Man alive
a short slingshot on the ground, to keep combos going would fit well for spidermans triangle ability
Especially if they somehow involve a web parachute or the wings in a way that keeps that wind tunnel effect
one thing i’m hopeful of in years to come would be a remaster of this game, but they explore more of the story and add some extra content, would be amazing tbh
It may be a stupid nitpick but is it just me or are Peter's shoulders not as broad as they used to be? I had been feeling that since I saw gameplay for this game, and I think the Suits section of this video helps to show that better
Yeah i was thinking the same, either his traps and neck got so muscular that it makes his shoulders narrower, or they are just narrower
While I agree that miles should've had more to do in this story, I would argue that giving him the symbiote is kinda like giving him "all the cool stuff"
Like he gets to turn invisible, shoot 2 kinds of lightning AND have the black suit?
Change u pic back to Spiderman 2 😂
personally I didn’t hate this game.
How about this VENOM PUNCH.")
(also also also, when i saw the gameplay trailer, i thought ganke was actually gonna do something in this game. nope, just one mission and he's back to "miles! i got more info on the bad guy!")
Peter with the symboite was so undercooked…also should add a lot of elements that web of shadows has
you spend half the game as black suit spiderman so idk what you mean
I agree

I 100% agree with this people act like this game is fantastic with no flaws but it’s a mess the only saving grace is that it’s Spider-Man
This is a really good breakdown of the game, youve managed to articulate my thoughts really well
The shield enemies are the ones who throw the electric field.
I CHALLENGE SOMEONE TO COUNT HOW MANY TIMES DORITO GOD SAYS "BRAINDEAD" IN THIS VIDEO
I wad thinking that. So far i count 3 im only 40 minutes in tho

How’d you get the like button to light up at the same time?
Automatic feature UA-cam has. I honestly didn't know that was there until like yesterday.

Schizo Spider-Man is my favorite bug though. "That fight was years ago Peter..."
the electric web comes from the robot dogs and the hunters with basucas, and it comes from the tec from electros vest you can find it in the level with mj in the zoo where peter gets the black suit
Smh
It's kinda bonkers because Arkham Knight had this same issue.
