It was a tour on a boat. The tour was sold at the hotel. A guy explained islands' history. We then went snorkeling with the rays and the sharks. At the end we went on a private island (don't remember the name...) where they did a BBQ. Very nice tour and not very expensive.
That underwater footage doesn't look shaky at all, good job. Was that due to the optical stabilizer in FCP X? Also, there's slight vigenetting, but the images are clear so I assume you used some type of flat lens fix for the gopro? Did you use a red filter as well? I'm going soon and have a flat lens fix and red filter, just wondering if you have any tips? Thanks!
Iaorana (Hello!) Beautiful diving experience, Bora Bora and its eternal amazing lagoons, Thanks for sharing it, We love our Island. Best Regards from ARC EN CIEL BORA BORA, your favorite Pearl Shop.
This video is stunning. Incredible job. I went to BB last Summer and this is such a great video to take me back. One question what hotel were you staying at. The St Regis didnt have nearly this much coral reef. Most of the fish were in the man made lagoonarium.
Right, but was this on a snorkeling tour or something? Or near your bungalow? I ask because I want to do that exact same thing with the sharks. But I'm not sure where to find it.
Awesome. Thanks for the info! I will hopefully also be getting a GoPro HD soon to take on my trip. Were you just holding the camera with ur hand for all the filming?
Awesome video Jean! I randomly stumbled upon your channel because I just uploaded my own world travels video. It looks like you had tons of fun! Great work filming & editing! I just recently started making travel videos about a month ago while traveling Europe. I know all the hard work that goes into it! Your videos great! Have a good day!
The GoPro is really amazing. I was just holding it in my hand. I suggest that you buy the lens fix housing from GoPro for underwater shooting. You won't have the vignetting that I got (black corners). Enjoy Polynesia!
@callmehere You've got it right: flat lens fix for the gopro and that's why you see some vigneting. A little stabilization in FCX about 1 to 2 % on the worst shots. You can see the shots where I've used the stabilizer: there's no vigneting...I didn't use any filter. CC in post with FCX. Have a nice dive!
It depends where you live and where you're going to stay. I have to admit that going to French Polynesia is usually pretty expensive...If your in North America, you take a plane from L.A.
Jean-François Noël When you stayed at the private island motu resort in bora bora, was the water around the overwater bungalows clear. Were the beaches nice on the private island motu. Was the snorkelling good around that area?
Zev Shteinman Hi Zev. Water around the bungalows was clear in Motu but to be honest, I preferred the coral in Moorea. My trip was 5 days in Moorea and 5 days in Bora Bora, both Sofitel resorts. If I was to go back I think that I would just stay in Moorea for the whole trip.
paradisegunshot they're Black Tip sharks.. they aren't very aggressive. There is a shark and sting ray feeding excursion you can do there. Looks like this is what he did. You couldn't pull this off if they were White Tip, Tiger, Mako, or Bull Sharks.
beugen2001 They are Black Tip sharks, not Lemon. You probably wouldn't want to mess with Lemon too much, and the Lemon sharks aren't that people friendly.
snorkeling in Bora Bora + sharks and rays i will never forget in my life.
breathtakingly beautiful.
amazing video guys :)
EVERYTHING'S GORGEOUS!!

Great video. Did you use the special underwater lens and also did you use a filter on your GoPro HD?
LOVE the video man. Where were you filming when there were black tip reef sharks in shallow water?
I was at private Motu but most of the shots are from Sofitel in Moorea. Snorkling is perfect there!
Great video!
Dude! You're an awesome videographer! Fabulous job assembling the wonderful clips into such a great film!
Magical, I cant wait!!

Amazing video I Want to go. There
Simplesmente mágico!!!!
Are you a certified diver, because that looks like its much deeper than 18 feet, which to my understanding is like the maximum beginner diver depth?
i wish it was that clear when we did the dive for the manta rays.
great footage! beautiful! thanks!
Amazing video I Want to go. Teherán
The sharks are rarely seen around the huts, they were on a trip in a boat

Yep! I'm a certified diver.
I think its Wardruna
I was right in the water, feet away from them. They're not dangerous.

I'm sorry I can't remember the song...you can probably find it using Shazam...
you were pretty close to those sharks... but i've heard that they're not that dangerous
Sharks isnt dangerous :p! but I should stay away from bull sharks
paradisegunshot they're Black Tip sharks.. they aren't very aggressive. There is a shark and sting ray feeding excursion you can do there. Looks like this is what he did. You couldn't pull this off if they were White Tip, Tiger, Mako, or Bull Sharks.
