@@burningknuckle26 is it? I would’ve thought your legs would be dead from this style always transferring weight like that for 3 minutes straight seems tiring
@@Fishcakes77 Honestly it makes it so you don’t have to put as much energy towards your punches since you’re already moving with momentum. So although it’s more tiring than standing still, you save energy on your punches. 🔥
Absolute gold to see this explained from Mr. Bivol himself. What an honor to get tips in person from him, and so valuable for us viewers aswell. Thanks Mr. Amanna!
For those trying to learn this technique. I found that medicine ball throws were the best way to understand how to generate power from the legs and hips, as Bivol explains. With repetition, your body will naturally discover ways to tap into additional sources of power (legs).
A good way to understand the dynamics of this way to punch is to get close to the heavy bag, get your arms down very relaxed and just bump the bag with your shoulders, pushing yourself into rotation with your legs. Just as if you want to shove someone very hard. Push the leg and flick your hips and upper body to slap the bag. Let you feet move and slide while doing it, don't be planted in the ground. Once you feel the motion and how it gives momentum to your shoulder you can start adding the arm. Always very relaxed, don't try to punch with it, use it as a dead weight, like a loose extension of your shoulder. It will look silly and sloppy but you have to feel that your movement is throwing your arm. Once you get that you can add the final touch, your arm extending with the correct motion. You can see this in Frolov's vids or other soviet coaches. From the body motion a very relaxed arm used as a whip. As you don't use your arm your brain will not focus on it and let you do the right core movement. If you learned to lead your punches with your hand or arm like Ben here, it's very hard to change it and you can see he never gets it during the video. Keep in mind that in soviet boxing the main idea is to get the impulse for your punches from the body movement, never from your feet planted. So keep moving and use these motions to initiate punches.
Great explanation from Bivol. American style: Move, stop then punch and move. Soviet style: move and punch at the same time. So beautiful coordination btw upper body and lower body.
I don’t understand why this channel only has 7,000 subscribers. This content is pure gold, especially with the athletes you train with. Some other channels just cover basic stuff, but you spend your time with the best athletes. Thank you, and keep it up. The community and I really enjoy your content.💯

love these technique videos! would be great to see some with other fighters as well. No denying Bivol has the most aesthetically pleasing technique though
as far i understand, ur only moving ur legs for the sake of moving ur legs, bivol kept telling you that the strength of the punsh should start from the legs, you need to put ur body wight on ur left/right side leg depending on the punch, push with ur legs, a great exercice is to just move the legs withou actually punching, in general gj mate and good luck, nice content much love
Bivol looks so f'ing cool when he shadowboxes. Smart and very athletic boxer, a rare combination. He's so dedicated to this sport and it's awesome. Always a Champion.
Thanks my friend. I appreciate you sharing another video! It’s like gold ✨. In my mind it seems like all Bivol punches generate from his Shoulders, not the biceps 💪🏾! It’s like a chain reaction>>> Shoulders arrive first >>> the elbow >>> then wrist 👊 💥. And just keeps the hips loose, like jelly! That’s how I would be thinking in my own head after hearing what Bivol said. “Loose like jelly, loose- jelly-> the shoulders!” Idk if that makes sense but that’s how I interpret it 😅 You were looking very good by the end 👍🏾 🥊
Idk what it is but bivol is like a beacon in boxing, kinda like Ali. This man has aura, I really hope he gets the greatest boxing unification fight and goes down as the pfp goat. Theres a lot more to come out of him.
I believe this style is one of the most beautiful yet daring. I love Bivol and he makes this style work wonderfully. My only small little complaint about this style is how the off hand keeps dipping too low for my comfort, where as the responsibly defensive person in me wants to keep the guard tight. However, I liken this, me being an Actor as a “Theatre warmup” a style fluid and invigorating to get the whole body tuned up. I love the style though nonetheless and love Bivol as a fighter. He may have one of the most, if not the most, beautiful styles of boxing to watch (the jab, the lateral movement, he’ll exchange with you in the pocket, his IQ, TOUGHNESS). He should definitely land in the top 5 in pound for pound boxers (imo) Usyk Bud Inuoe Beterbiev Bivol
In practice his hand always dip low, but when he fights his high guard is always dialed in and his right hand specially is glued to his face the majority of the time. And I fully agree with your p4p take. Bam is lurking just out of the top 5 tho, another great boxer!
This is dope. Really good explanations from bivol and listening on your part. Could see the improvement just from that one session. This can help me too!

bro honestly i feel someitmes some people its just natural for them... my little brother first time boxing he got it on his own how the force comes from the leg etc its weird, he amazed me how natural it was for him
Seeing bivol training from the opposite angle really show his straight punch is no telegraph at all. It would be a nightmare for any fighter trying to to dodge that
Looks like you need to bend at your knees more and put weight on front foot the push off the front foot to initiate the movement when throwing the hook when exiting
i'm a Bivol fan, but in my opinion, Beterbiev is killin Bivol in those championship round, like from round 9 to 12, Bivol cant hit, move a lot and hes exhausted faster than Beterbiev, so i think its fair game, but 116-112 is way to cruel.
@@trannha9108 yeah I think Bivol lost 10-12, unfortunately. If he could've tapped into another gear at least for one round (like round 12) the judges would have it a draw. Both guys fought a great fight, I'm hoping for a rematch
you pivot your foot in a very orthodox style that is taught in the west but Bivol does not do that, from my perspective it is what is messing you rhythm up. is not wrong to do it is just another style and as Bivol said it does make sense to change you core style so late, but in my humble opinion if you want to you have to forget everything else you were taught because you r literly trying to learn new fundamentals.
Bivol is using the Russian Pendulum style of boxing. Every thing is coming from the feet. Usyk and Lomachenko do it as well but they all know that they can't keep that up for 12 rounds. Cuban boxers do it as well.
You can check out Bivol's second coach Nikolay Isaev videos and try to pick stuff up. Try typing "тренировка исаев". There is also a channel in english (McLeod Scott Boxing). Sergey Raab is a good source too. I'm teaching this style to myself through youtube videos and then I try to do what I see at the gym.
