This is the song that inspired me to learn to play the violin, although it took several years for me to finally become confident enough to buy a violin and teach myself.
it's never to late to enjoy a violin.
Lindsey, I know you won't see this, but i owe you everything that i have learned over the past 4 years. When my friend showed me this back in 2011, you had inspired me to start playing the viola. You made me want to get better because i aspired to be just as great as you are. You helped me get better, and take on more challenges. Along the path i learned how to play the Violin. Lindsey, i'd overall just like to thank you for everything that you have done for me. Because of you i now know how to play the Viola and Violin.

I love how with her it only takes around 10 seconds to unzip her violin case, put on the shoulder rest, and start playing, even though with me it usually takes at about 15 minutes.

Agreed! (to some extent). I don't see why people feel the need to bring up Lyndsey's, or any artist's for that matter, religion or personality. It's of no consequence to their music. As long as their not a criminal, I could give a damn what a musician believes. Just keep making noises that taste nice in my ears.
However, to say that, "it is in no way our right to pick fun at her for believing a certain way," is just wrong, unless perhaps you live in a country where free speech is not protected. It is entirely within 'our right' to poke fun at anyone for the silly things that they believe. You may find it indecent, distasteful, or inappropriate, and in certain circumstances I'd agree with you. But that doesn't mean that it's not 'our right.' Calling people out for ridiculous beliefs is necessary for a healthy society. Though, the comment sections on music videos aren't the best venues for such expression.

It'd be like someone saying, "People in the UK are thrown in jail just for voicing their opinions." I'm sure you'd agree that that's both an exaggeration and an oversimplification. In any case, read the original comment that you responded to and you'll see that I only make mention of criticizing or poking fun at people for the silly things they believe, which is a lot different than poking fun at someone for their ethnicity or 'race.'
I've lost all interest in this post now, but fuck it. No matter what the law is we should all have the common decency to protect each other. Which would be relevant to this since holding your damn tongue when you can't say anything constructive or for the good of someone else, would make it a lot easier for everyone to be productive instead of arguing over stupid shit like this.
Random fact, I saw this video not long after it was uploaded and I fangirled hard. Lindsey had small batch of some small posters she had created and was reluctant to even sell on her site. I requested she please sign the poster, she even sent an email saying she would sign it. It is still my cherished possession.

i already been playing violin back then and when I found this video when it came out it was the first time I realized I didn't have to only play classical suzuki violin pieces.. there was a whole other way to play the violin to express myself and loved that this video inspired me and found another way to love the violin! Also I love pop and such so this was right down my alley

10 years since this MASTERPIECE came in to life
I remember the first time I seen this I was playing world of Warcraft with my now wife and we needed music to listen to and history was made for us... I have been a fan from that day a little over 9 years now
I do not care how many times I watch this, the way you move I know you say its awkward but to me it looks like you allow the music to move you. From the standing still moonwalk to ur hair touch the ground lean. You allow the music to move you so technically you are not even dancing. The music is flowing and that is amazing.
Mike she just played in Pittsburgh....the music not only moves Ms Sterling but the crowd !!! We were next to the lightening man--he was thrashing about...and he's seen her a number of times...I had a stiff neck from bobbing ...but well worth it!!! She is an awesome musical with a ton of energy and talent.

Cutting & pasting something I posted today, on other video's of hers. On this one? It's because it's an Original, something that's important to myself- because it show's who an artist really IS.
When the time comes, and History is once again written, as it always is, one gal, will be the reason behind their being a "Dancing/Prancing/Violin-Playing/Singing/Acting/Online Sensation category, in the World Music, Hall of Fame.
And that name, that ORIGINAL ARTIST, who began it all, will be one Lindsey Sterling.
The very first time I saw her, all those years ago, when she first appeared on UA-cam, I knew then, I was seeing something special.
And something else? I knew, without any question, whatsoever: Simon Cowell, was fallible. As we all are... Just.. must of us know it.
At least a small portion of the plaque they place under her "Life-like" wax statue, imo, should read as follows:
"A girl who was not taken seriously, who was shunned, by the very people she wanted to be like, she admired, and worked so hard to become a part of, proved to the world, once and for all, that YOU decide your fate, at least the aspects that are left up to your control, and that what others may think of you, or your ability, or your chances, are NOT what should guide you in this life.
