    Peace be to you! Thanks for posting this video! I was always struck at how genuinely humble Michael Johnson appears when speaking. I wonder if this is knowing that in running events, one can bask in glory for a time. However, EVENTUALLY, there will always be someone faster than you.🤔

    Without error in his start he would have done under 19 secs and its been studied already. BEST Technique EVER. I watched all his races .. He is the Michael Jordan of Athletics, the MIchael Jackson of Athletics, the Lionel Messi of Ronaldinho or Maradona of Football. He is The GOD Michael Johnson. Truly inspiring and exemplary figure.

    • @dash0173
      @dash0173 7 років тому +17

      no.. without his error, his time may have been 19.30 instead of 19.32. One step will not take .32 seconds off of such a fast race.

      the body weight is wayyyyy less significant than the weight of the shoe. you can be a big muscular sprinter and still be fast but the shoe weight matters more because of the pendulum your feet need to be light

    Why do sprinters have such jacked upper bodies?

    • @nick5422
      @nick5422 3 роки тому +1

      Because your arms are very important to output power and propel yourself forward when running, especially in sprinting

    • @asnark7115
      @asnark7115 2 роки тому

      Because sprinting is basically a series of unloaded, one-legged, eccentric, partial-range power cleans. Having said that, they're more lean than anything else. Carl Lewis and MJ both never weighed more than 180-185 for the long majority of their careers.

      He is one of the greatest runners of all time, and is well known for his analysis and knowledge on technique. The only 'bad' part of his races are his starts, and the leaning back when he runs is to get more force into the ground, which = more speed
