  • Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau is a family-friendly resort and one of the largest in Tirol, Austria.
Its two main mountains used to be separated and were competing for ski areas, hence the full name of Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau. But now they are one, offering far more variety of skiing and snowboarding options, and even better value for money than ever before.
It’s what attracts most of its visitors- that and the unique villages in the valleys, with a distinctive Alpine style and unrivalled traditions and heritage. Most of these are mentioned below in our list of things to do in winter in Ski Juwel in Tirol.
The Ski Juwel ski area is one of the 10 biggest in Austria. It has the Wildschönau and Alpbachtal sides, with accommodation options in Niederau, Auffach, Alpbach and Inneralpbach.
There’s a real mixture of runs available, and with excellent value for money, it is popular with families, owing to the 10 ski schools and numerous beginner’s slopes.
From Auffach you’ll also find the new Schatzbergbahn gondola, a modern 8-seater that can transport 2,650 people per hour.

Scott had a lot of charm. His joy in exploring and interacting with the locals makes this video fun to watch.

The village is not the most friendly place in Austria but the most picturesque village in Austria but the bell on to is the fire alarm it was used in fire to tell the villagers to come the church bell will ring to say that the village no there a fire and there come
The ski company staff are one of the most friendly staff in Austria and the sky left is not the best but there new link with the new lift from worgl hft by post bus from the front of the railway station or the old link in front of the railway station on the Innsbruck line the two links give you access to the small resort great for learning to ski So the ski in all areas is one the nice with children as it has no bar culture on big scale so drew in big families if you stop In worgl it self which cheaper there also acces to wilder area by free bus which also links in to Kitzbühel by free bus on the Salzburg past which cover all area s
It’s a great place to ski but night life is of Austria village very low key which is great for family and reflects on the ski safely on the piste because there customers are family but it lack a modern infrastructure in many places like snow cannon in large amounts of volume but it clear up its game in the last year two with great investment
So to sum up one of my favourite ski areas the pista map can be difficult to navigate because of the spit of the two areas require a ride on lift to join together but with easy access from the airport for guests a support choice to try to book your self
Access is better from Innsbruck airport there is link for less than 4 euro by local bus outside the departure door to the train station were you buy a ticket in the book office in English for the train and bus to the two areas you can ask then even to book a plan of journey on paper just in cause you need help
Hotel are best book on the local village torisum site you will be required as an English person to send by bank transfer around 15 % of the bill to confirm your book with in 14 days then pay the balance I cash Austrian hotel do not take cards normal you can book trains on ÖBB website in English from the uk and there app is usefully to check time table for bus and train but the post bus is better check on the vvt app for the region all can be obtained from the App Store have a go it easy with the app but to be warned ÖBB tickets on line on uk network take time inthe app to up load so print of the bar code before getting on the train it easy to get around austria last year in 2018 I flew into the uk to see my family for 24 hrs in storms of snow over the top
Of cars but got back and out of the uk even in this weather austria people just get on with life snow is just not problem to get about the country unless you move up to the higher areas of the railway network towards Zurich

the bell on the house is for fire sorry but its not for food it is still used to tell the fire men there is a fire in my village and there the church bell is use to reply to tell the bell ringer that the fire men are on there way ! the bell ring before the sire at the fire station in my village at night so if you do hear the bell please get out bed and check you do not have to leave the building as it will be the first warnning that there is a fire in your area do not complain at reception most guest do think its just a local church bell ring for no reason

Are there many black slopes for advanced skiers?

    • @Edge-dy9fh

There are a few black runs. The off-piste is quite good but you need to be lucky with the snow as the top stations are around 2000m.

I thought it was law to wear a helmet in Austria but that may just be for children up to 18

    • @TravelDudesTV
      @TravelDudesTV  5 років тому

I thought so, too. They like to see if people wear a helmet, but all the guides don't wear one. Not the best example for others. ;-)
