Can someone help me on which of the two levers on the top of the starter on the pony motor which one is the choke and which one is I guess fast idle slow idle Maybe
Could u make a video showing the turbo conversation so I and other people can see how the oil and air lines are ran. There is several people that would be interested
i have a 1950 d4 with loader bucket been sitting many years everything is there I have cleared all black berrys away what are some of the first things I should do before trying to start the old thing
I used to run one of those old rigs in a town brush dump. 1960 vintage I think it was. Half the fun was in starting 'er up. the other half was to keep it from shedding a track. It was a very tired old machine, but fun to run...pulling all those levers gave a pretty good workout by the way! Thanks for posting!
I almost bought one in the Mt's of N.C one time ..sitting in a barn had everything there it was ready to go and hadnt been started in 5 years . But guy wouldn't sell it ..
Dieseldave71 - I noticed you starting your diesel with the top lever while the bottom one stayed engaged until it started. I've owned a D69U for a few months now and never use the little top lever. I engage and disengage it with the bottom one. Is there a difference? Is one way better than the other in colder weather? thanks Ricky- the pony motors are 2 cylinder 4 stroke. The straight pipe exhaust makes them sound loud like a 2 stroke.
I got the same machine except for your air cleaner pre-cleaner is a little different. You know what year that thing is?

Is the electric start for pony motor 6 volts?
Yes, but we’ve been running it off of half dead 12 volts for decades
