Honestly the english finale was really good and satisfying. If you can watch it, I'd suggest to do it even if you haven't watched the whole series. You just need to know that all the Gallagher kids (except the little one, Stella) left Manchester at some point in the series.

Even tho the past couple seasons weren’t great, this is a great way to rap up the series. It would’ve been better if all the Gallaghers, Veronica, Steve and Norma came back together.
I assumed Karen was the last character shown in the series and it be fitting as she was the longest original cast member Frank Gallagher was a last second recast
They should have given her more screentime in the finale and maybe some interaction with the Gallaghers... at least they did it when Lip came back in episode 11x08.

I finally had the courage to finish shameless ( 🇺🇸) this morning and it was so heartbreaking 😭 I’m so sad it’s over. Forever one of my favorite shows. It got me through some really dark times. I’ll never forget watching it late at night on my old laptop when I used to sleep in my friends car using some old lady’s WiFi in his apt complex. To watching it on my phone when I slept at the park using the local zoo’s WiFi near by during my heavy drug use. I remember after I got my life back and was clean for the first time in my life, watching the show in the morning help me start my day, and tons of people like me out there going through the same thing. The most lonely of nights, this show brought me laughs. I tried watching uk version it’s just not the same. But I still love it cause it paved the way for the USA
Honestly I think that the kids and the parents telling themselves that despite everything they went through they all love each other and are glad they've all grown up as fine adults is probably the best ending they could get and I'm glad it happened this way.
Kind of retroactively explains the randomness of the last scene in the US shameless where they are all huddled around a burning car, at least in this one it makes sense compared to just some random car and they all go sing at it, like what.
I tried to watch this on FilmRise, and let me tell you, it would not play properly. kept looping back the same 10 seconds over and over. If I hadn't watched it here, I would not have seen the series end. Scatter!
Sucked since series 7. Even series 7 was iffy. Jamie and Karen became a grind to watch so did Ian. Series 8 onwards became Eastenders tripe. The noticeable drip in storyline quality was apparent in series 7 when that weird episode that Liam dressed in Debbies clothes and goes to hang out with an old dying man. What a weird episode that was.. tanked from there onwards.
It became noticeably more pc as well. Frank (im putting it down to the actor getting bored by this point and so it showed in the character) became a bit to forced in my opinion, it stopped being organic with the put downs. I think the maguires were fine until they decided to have Paddy kidnapped and forcifully injected with smack, this splitting him and mimi up, but they stopped being a comedic duo and became a intolerable soap type couple by series 6 anyway. The show went from being light and comedy to attemlted to be dark and gritty in series 6 and 7 which didnt suit it because wed come to love it for being a bit over the top comedy. Although the arc where carl and chesney are hiding in a farm house in a villege was good, theyd been framed for murder and it was probably the best arc of the whole lot to be honest. Frank and libby was decent but they dropped that for no real reason. I think the show just ran out if steam si they tried to be bold,, liam visiting the old man, the bible crew (libbys mum was in charge of ie the higher power) were all ridiculous story arcs that didnt belong in the show at all. Id love to know why they didnt use norma in her original character as well, she was frigging hilarious when she first arrived with monica but they turned into another flat type character that shadowed a few episodes. Another hate was debbie replacing fiona as the so called leader of the house... her character was flat out annoying and it was never believable she was the surrogate mother.
