the fact that most of the stars left because of issues with pay or the show runners posed me off so much. these characters are so strong and they deserve to be kept on the show, especially fiona, ian, mickey and the other characters.
Ye, Fiona, Ian, and mickey were the people I always looked to, mostly the relationships between them
exactly fiona especially she's literally the heart of the show she's the main character keeping the family together as she always has
I think secretly they left not because if pay. But because the writers subjected them to constant political and social diatribes they may it have agreed with. They absolutely ruined the last 2 seasons with the every other line jab at politics. But alas, Hollywood believes they hold a superior candle to everyone else, and they think the peasants are just dying to hear their opinions.
@@CharlieDexter99 that was the reality of America then. They needed to bring up politics

Right because right after Emmy left they pretty much never talk about Fiona in the show they mentioned her a couple times but when do you ever see them on the phone pretending to be on the phone with her or something else it’s like they completely forgot about her but I’m really hoping that Emmy does return for the season finale of the show
It’s weird, right? For her to have done so much for them and to have such a big part, you’d think she’d get mentioned. Even V, her best friend, doesn’t talk about her.
I was hoping she’d have at least called Ian on his wedding, after their goodbye scene I thought it was a lock for her to have at least sent him a card
Ian & Micky carried the last 2 seasons on their backs... they deserve credit for that.
Frank, Kevin, Ian and Micky...Micky overtook Kevin as the funniest character imo, obviously the writers made that happen, considering Micky was pretty unlikable for the most part up until the last few seasons.

I wouldn’t pay her as much as William H. Macy. The dude is a legend and has earned his pay. Emmy was great but she was a relative newcomer.
they ruined Svetlana's character when they turned her into a math genius all the sudden like it just came out of nowhere?
the show changed when fiona, mandy, karen, jimmy, and sheila left. they have to come back for the finale
I absolutely hated Karen and her storyline she's a absolutely great actress I just hated her storyline with lip when I watch those seasons I just skip those parts lol there's only 2 times I do that in this show that storyline and the whole Debbie wanting a baby and her obsession with Derek I can't stand that either but other then that I agree Mandy was excellent I liked Jimmy to Sheila was great as well
She totally failed her responsibility with being the legal guardian, poor little Liam was her responsibility! And left without saying goodbye to him. Pos for sure
At least Mandy. I don't like that new milkovich girl as much as I liked Mandy.
Emmy also had stated in an interview that she wished Fiona would've gotten her happily ever after, but they always gave her "happy" but never "ever after"
I assumed Emmy would get the highest pay?
I kind of expected frank to make more. Simply because he is a much more famous actor who is kind of the face of the show. However obviously Fiona is a large character who should have been payed almost as much as frank
Frank is seen as the protagonist (hard to believe) so I wasn’t super surprised he’s paid the highest. But Emmy is also female and we do often get paid less even though she’s a main character.
William h Macy gets nominated for an Emmy almost every year for the role of Frank. so ig it makes sense that he gets paid more
It’s weird cause I’ve never seen Frank as the main character. Yes he is a major role but to me it’s always been about the kids and Frank has kind of always been the inconvenience that pops up
I miss Sheila and frank scenes together so much 😭
i miss sheila in general so much, but her scenes with frank were so funny lmao

gonna be honest when the first mandy left (season1) I was kinda pissed
Mandy was the only gf he had that was trying to help him do right and pursue his education and career path. She was great 👏

I grew up in a family not all that different than that. My parents weren't around and spent most of my teens living with my aunt and her kids and it kinda like the wild west there and I could basically do anything I wanted but she cared and she took care of me and was there to pick me up every time I fell down. Honestly I just really want to know what happened with Ethel she was my favorite storyline by far.
Emmy easily should have been paid the most especially since she was naked so often. She gave vulnerability in so many ways. Also Sheila, Svetlana were soooo missed. I Really wish they all came back in the end.
I used to love the Shameless series; however, I stopped watching around 2017/2018 because it just started going downhill and wasn't interesting anymore. It was palpable that the writers were running out of steam and were lacking quality ideas for storylines. The series was in its prime during the first four or five seasons and I couldn't get enough of it. My husband and I watched it religiously. It was hysterically funny, but it also had some great drama. Joan Cusack leaving was a huge loss. The series was never the same after she left. She played the Sheila character remarkably well and brought so much humor. As more and more of cast members gradually started leaving the series, it just became incredibly dry and boring. It wasn't holding my attention at all like it used to. I really think that they forced this series to keep going well past its prime. They should have ended while they were on top.
I hope she's back for the finale at least
I still wish Emmy would’ve at least popped in for season 11
i heard that she was supposed to but she was pregnant and at high risk for covid so it was too dangerous to film togther
I'm hoping everyone is back for the final episode! I'm going to miss the Gallagher's Family, Kev and V.. and hanging out at the Alibi.
I never liked Kev and Vs role...other than their friendship and support of the Gallaghers and being nar owners, the roles were unnecessary. Sorry to say but the acting was sub par.
Sheila brought layers upon layers of intrigue to the show. The only 2 people who kept me interested in the end was Liam and Frank and his best friends rel'p (Luiz Guzman). At this point, Season 10 Guzman leaving...it's like having a great weekend party and then everyone goes home and it's boring and kind of empty.
I don't even care if I continue watching.
V and Kevin are getting on my nerves...a little overboard.

William Macy is the playing the MAIN character, the show focus on him but I agree that Emmy should have been paid more or even equally ... Sad that even nowadays we still stuggle with this issue.
I would have loved to see the original cast grow together
I remember when I didn't know what plants my garden would produce or how they'd grow.
fiona was THE biggest part of the show, yes frank created it but fiona kept it going. she should've gotten higher pay even if it wasn't highest. she had a lot of screentime compared to frank
We loved it when it first came on but as seasons progressed we started losing interest in it. We popped in on season 11 and it is a shell of the former show. The actress playing Debbie is passable but she is no Emmy Rossum. It should have ended when Emmy left.
I could understand them uping Ian’s actors pay because they already lost the actress who plays Fiona I mean losing two Gallagher’s that people favor? They’d be kinda in trouble
Wow! Yeah not getting paid enough can definitely be a deal breaker. Loved the show. It came at a really weird dark time in my life. Thanks Shameless 🌹. Bravo! 👍 Well done. You’re already missed.
sheila, mandy, & karen really added flavour to it. i miss sheila so much & im only up to mid season 5 just after she left.
Fiona was gone by second season of Shameless UK, the fact that they kept Ms.Rossum as a primary character for most of the series should show her importance to the story.

....so, it's all about money.
most of the main people like cameron and emmy were unhappy with the creative direction of the show. the reason mickey came back was because that was the only way they were getting cameron back. emmy wanted to do other projects.
Cameron (Ian) decided to leave because he felt like they used up all the storylines for Ian. He didn’t like how the character was going, so he wanted to leave. They brought back Noel (Mickey) to try and prevent Cameron from leaving permanently, and he came back
People are quick to jump to sexism and inequality when it comes to pay difference without recognizing other factors. In any profession seniority and accolades play a huge role in salary. William H Macy has been acting since before Emmy Rossum was even born and has been nominated for an academy award. It’s not the patriarchy.
He's just a way better actor and the reason a lot of people watched the show. Personally when I saw that an actor like him decided to star on a show, I immediately assumed it was good.
