- The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra performs music from Nobuo Uematsu’s Final Fantasy VIII - Mono no aware (arr Roger Wanamo). Conductor is Giedré Slekyté. Recording from the concert Final Symphony II in the Stockholm Concert Hall, June 2016.
The full album will finally be released on August 4th, 2023 by Merregnon Records!
Okay, now we NEED a Final Symphony 3. FFIV, XII, and XV need some more love!

I've been on a marathon of listening to video game orchestras as of late. One of the greatest combinations of generations ever imo.
The best music has always been for entertainment! Ballets, operas and symphonies were the movies of their day! They have amazing soundtracks (often that is all they are!). Today video games are just another source of entertainment, hence the the brilliant soundtracks.
The FF8 music is so amazing ! ❤ It gives me goosebumps whenever I hear Liberi Fatali or any variation of Edea's theme!

So bummed that they never released the album. At least I get to hear the FF8 part as consolation.. I love this just as much as I hate that I won't get to ever hear the FF9 suite. If anyone ever gets holds of that one, PLEASE pm me.

Replying just in case any of you guys get lucky haha. I saw Final Symphony II in London a while ago and the FF9 suite was sublime. That whole concert was recorded as well, so I don't know why a CD hasn't came out yet.
Ugh, no! Are you telling me they are never releasing this? I loved the first Final Symphony, and I'm just now discovering this one... and there was an FF9 suite?! Come on, guys...

This was just an excerpt from the Final Symphony II concert series. Unfortunately there is no recording until today. But Final Symphone I is available as CD and Bluray (but just the live audio without video!)
