Lillys driving was the same as mine when I was taking lessons I always overthink things and panic 5 different driving instructors took me a year and a half to learn to drive anything's possible if you put your mind to it now I drive a company vehicle a well-known company and I did my pass Plus she is actually a really good driver she just overthink things and panics just like I was she's got great potential
I just passed my test today after months of waiting through lockdown and I'm so happy! I couldn't have done it without your videos so I just want to say thank you for all your help and hard work! 👍
Well done lily it’s only your second lesson and your improving and you will only getter better in time you have an excellent instructor in Matt he will make u into a better driver so keep up the good work lily and I cannot wait to watch u progress in your learning to drive journey! Keep working hard and you will achieve your goals!
Wow! Isn’t Lily just the perfect student! There's a difference between telling yourself that you're not good enough and reminding yourself that there's room for improvement. Accept your flaws for what they are right now while committing to improvement in the future. Lily is an absolute pro at this! She is doing so well & has exactly the right attitude! Your mind can be your best asset or worst enemy, I love Lily’s productive inner dialogue that will soon fuel her efforts to reach her goals when driving, she also seems to be much happier when driving too thanks to Matt🤍 well done lily & Matt, keep going! - Rose 🌹
Wish this video was out when I was learning in a manual... I was exactly the same. I admire her determination. I gave up and passed my test in automatic. I've toyed with the idea of having lessons in manual and retaking my test now my road confidence is there, but at the moment I'm happy driving my automatic.
Lily ur so sweets iv struggle with wot ur doing until I changed my driving instructions I'm so much better I still need a bit more confidence you will get it and ur doing a great job good look x
Lilly, you're doing amazing Im hopefully going to do my second mock test next week and also hopefully will be able to book my test online soon. Your confidence is coming on leaps and bounds and Matt, you're an inspiration to me so much,
I completely understand lily with her thinking and problems. I have had exactly the same thing. It's really hard to explain she did a good job explaining. I couldn't give reason to my instructor about why I did things. Like when she explained she knew when she was on the break but didn't want to stop. It's hard for some instructors to understand what we are thinking I found. Then I blame myself for mistake and not being able to explain.
I also believe lily is quite good driving already, and her observational awareness is the best. She just thinks too much or panic at times just like I did. Focusing on perfect driving not liking to make mistakes during the moment.
What helped me, and I really believe that it might help lily, is to do a test even if she don't pass. It's very good experience. Even though I didn't pass my first test. I didn't get so many faults I thought it would be. That really helped my confidence to be able to pass in future without being perfect.
Lily, I suffer with terrible anxiety with driving too. I've gone through three instructors. The first two didn't understand how to teach a nervous person and would make me worse. My mind goes blank and I panic. I started learning 10 years ago and gave up after 10 lessons as I hated it so much. Started back this year and still find it hard so you are definitely not alone.
Lily I remember when I was learning to drive last year and my instructor was trying to teach me the mspsl routine I wouldn't even come out of a junction to start with I would panic and freeze I got better and passed 1st time this January and don't panic no more trust me the more you do it the easier it gets I promise you. Your in safe hands with Matt and you are doing so well be proud of yourself 😀 and I don't want to see any negative comments it's not needed at all we all learn at different paces please give lily positive comments!
Wow Lily ! Your doing amazing it's so great to see how much confidence you have gained, I'm still learning (lessons on hold at the moment) but I really relate to you I used to always stop at giveaways and not understand how to hold the car then move off again just down to doubting myself. I can also relate to you a lot with the not going at a junction but knowing I could have made it. We will both get there Lily and thankyou for having your lessons on here for people like me to watch and feel a lot better that we're not alone. Sending lot's of love ! 💜
Lilly what a great lesson👏😍 you deffo remind me of myself.. have to talk myself through driving at all times! Lol.. also a tip from one small driver to another..use a cushion.. honestly the best thing I've ever done it helps so much with driving position, pulling up etc.. Keep up the good work👍👍
That is a good point... I had a cushion with my last instructor and still use one now. Being able to see over the bonnet helped with parking and opens up the field of vision..I noticed improvement immediately.
Glad to see lillys improvment and she's gaining confidence 😊 I definitely agree these type of roads can be more challenging then the faster roads at times, I also struggle with the pulling over at side of the road, I have a reff point but I'm not always consistent with getting it right at times I'm too far or other times too close iv asked my instructor to help but i still don't feel confident with it everytime
Just something I find interesting, here in South Africa, we ALWAYS have to signal, regardless of our environment. If we don't signal each and every single time, we would probably fail.
Lillys too hard on herself, If she just gets confident getting the car to shift pulling out at junctions a bit more and stops a little further from the kerb you will be sorted.
Thank you so much for your kind words of support and encouragement. It's appreciated. Watch Lilly reponding to comments from her first video here: ua-cam.com/video/Ncd97y8-l1M/v-deo.html (incase you missed it)
Plot twist - because if Lilly’s extensive lessons experience, overthinking tendencies and unbreakable determination few years from now she becomes the best driving instructor in the UK! I think she’s doing great but I would suggest doing some drifting or racing experience day to bring up the fun part of driving! Doing it right is important but enjoying yourself in the process helps a lot !
Matt ive been driving for almost 2 years now ... could u do a video on how to deal with other cars joining a motorway/ dual carriageway .. i get nervous sometimes on how to deal with them
Hi easy way is to build up your speed as soon as you are about to join look over your left shoulder and go into the left side lane and build your speed up to the required speed.
@@ZeddyBoi786 well it differs in each situation....it all depends on what you want to do....if you look in your rear view mirror and see theres no cars close behind you could slow down slightly to let them join your lane. Or if there is a car behind then maintaining your speed and making them wait could be the best option. Remember they are the ones who have to join safely so there should be no pressure on you. Finally if this still makes you nervous then change lane before coming up to a slip road joining so you dont have to deal with this. Always better to face certain fears though...eventually you'll be confident with it and wont even think twice....will become habit
But when i say slow down to let them through this is probably the last resort as you want to keep traffic flowing. Only if the motorway is completely free would this ever be an option.
Lilly ur not on your own when I find the biteing point. My instructor told me Im to keen to come off the clutch with lead to me stalling and was relying on the gas to get me moving, quicker. So my instructor told me to ease slowly off the clutch until its up and then gas.
Honestly I think it’d be best if she just calmed down and didn’t feel the need to explain herself every time, she’s talking to much and not listening enough

What I like about her is she is her own critic. She is aware of her mistakes and is actively trying to correct it. btw, which country is she from?
Another great lesson Lilly ! You will keep improving With Matts teaching, he is great !
Thank you Tamara
Shes improved so much, brilliant to see how confident she's becoming and now its just kinda seems like matt joins just for a chat
Lily is so lovely, as a very anxious learner I understand so much she’s saying, it actually keeps me calm watching her x

Massive improvement she's doing so well

Hey T's Way, thank you so much.
Lilly is cool, talking as she is driving, its good practice, good luck Lilly.
These videos helping me a lot with my lessons in Wolverhampton , keep them up. 👍
Have you come across DGN driving school UA-cam? They are based in Wolverhampton and similar to Matt’s very informative
Melissa Harvey yeah I’ve been watching them also, there really good.
Awesome, grew up in Walsall. Thanks for commenting.

@@ZeddyBoi786 u just maintain your speed in your lane which should be the left lane aka normal driving lane. They have to worry about joining
Do you when the booking service will be open
Once they complete all the backlog/covid cancelled tests most likely
@@RMulla- okay thank you for advice
Dear Lily you are sweet person. Let's do less talking and do more work on driving 😆 matt reaction 17:35🤣🤣🤣🤣😆
I passed my theory first time but took my practical 5 times
That's what I'm worried about, I also passed my theory first time and I'm scared to take my practical because I don't think I'm ready..

Look at her headrest! 😮
Let’s be honest lads once u get your licence u don’t even do shoulder checks and look at your mirrors
That's not true
Luke Fox in Australia it is mate aha
I perform shoulder checks (being a biker) and use my mirrors all the time. Never had a near miss or accident, so use them!!
She never admitted one mistake ☝️ 🤣🤣
True😆😆😆
Honestly I think it’d be best if she just calmed down and didn’t feel the need to explain herself every time, she’s talking to much and not listening enough
A lot of lesson time spent parked talking too no wonder she’s spent so much
27:39? Plandemic?
Like alot of people, some people think this pandemic was planned so say plandemic lol
why don,t u teach her in an automatic car .i think she will improve and get her licence much sooner
Dgn better
