What is the best way to set up a wifi mesh system where I have 150 lights on wifi, 32 cameras, 8 TVs and 7 computers along with various appliances, door locks and other clients?
My ISP provided a modem and router…. I can only get it to work if I plug it into the router, but the internet drops for everyone every couple of seconds now. As if there’s an internments having 2 separate routers and connections
@@aranapauljohn yeah. i got it to work but the internet connection still keeps shitting out for everyone. i reverted back to the ISP router again and it is STILL doing it. lol. idk what to do now. if anyone games they lag.
Not a good product. After buying a couple, the X20's provide no option to specify which one to connect to for physically static devices. Have devices connecting to distant X20's even when a stronger signal X20 is nearby. On TP link MORE EXPENSIVE models, have "Connection Preferences" to resolve this known issue - but no firmware update for X20's. Lower end junk.
99% of Modems have a built in router, this will also work plugging it into a router, but obviously you will need a modem on some part of you network otherwise you will not get internet. what we said is correct. we also stated you plug it into the router that you get from your service provider, the routers you get from service providers include modems.
Some ppl call it a router some call it a modem, virgins hubs are both as you can change it from router to modem only, so he was 100% correct in what he said, without your modem or router it’s obvious they won’t work
This was a complete waste of time. The TP linl needs to be connected to the Router Physically. I had a D-Link three port and all was woking wee. Made a huge error. Moved to Vodafone who provided a wireless modem and now I have to connect a TP link to the wireless modem so in one Office I have two wireless networks. The TP link stays Green all the time and cannot change settings. the whole TP link has been a complete waste of time. More fool me for trying to make some thing that was working better. Now to try and get the Huawai wireless 4G modem to work with the DLink mesh network.

Could you recommend a compatible modem to replace my xfinity one?
how do you hard wire them for strongest signal at each end of house
With the x20 is one of the nodes dedicated as the access point while the other two are satelites, or can you designate any of them as the base router?
hi, I have one unit in a bedroom, can i connect a tv via a lead to the back of the secondry unit?
Yes
Does each unit have to be connected to an ethernet or just the main one?
Just main one
But connecting each gives you much better performance
Great video. What for that last test with the four routers, what would your max wired speed be? Would be good to compare against the control
Thanx for the video. When they say power off your modem first are they talking about you old WiFi router or your Internet router??
internet router
Would this work for an apartment complex that uses the same wifi?
This is around $200 for the 3 pack, is this the best Router Wifi 6 mesh you can get.
For the price range yes
great video Can you setup more than one SSID on the TP Link Deco?
Mesh Wi-Fi is so standard and the norm. No explanation needed for the Mesh.

It should work if you plug it directly to Modem Ethernet where the “provided” router is plugged in.

is there a way to avoid the deco sharing the ssid and automatically picking 2.4ghz or 5ghz for your device i wsnt to pick my own
Only way is to Turn off the 2.4g or 5g. Can’t be separate.

Same.with my Deco S7. I have a deco literally within arms reach inside tye room but some devices connect to the deco downstairs. Stupid deco!
I want to buy this in Pakistan from where I can buy?
Does anyone know how to turn off ax and turn on a/b/g/n?
My connection keeps loading and goes back to the auto connect menu
Does each one hard wired?
only one needs to be wired to the ISP modem.
Thanks!
According Tp-Link you connect one node to the Modem not the Router, this is misinformation

You didn't show us how to SET IT UP. What a joke!
You may want to rewatch
so is this 2.4ghz and 5ghz or just 2.4? I'm surprised you didnt mention this
Wifi 6, means it both, its an industry standard for 4 years. will make sure we mention in future reviews
@@TechforTechs ah i didnt know that thank you for explaining it :)
