  • Hello everyone,
I recently received a new Scleral Contact Lens, and I had an issue and the lens was quite uncomfortable.
As always, I am not an eye doctor, and these are just my experiences. Of course, please consult your doctors to get the latest and most applicable information to your specific situation.

Just received my scleral contacts a few days ago after getting diagnosed with keratoconus. I put them on the first day and they were a little uncomfortable so I’ve been trying to avoid wearing them, they look perfectly fine and there’s no cuts or anything on them so I’m gonna try really cleaning them and come back to update.

So helpful! I just got mine and they don’t hurt but they start to feel dry and irritated after about an hour. I’m going to do that deep cleaner concoction that I got this weekend. I’m hoping it helps.

Hmmm, Thats strange. You would think one light rub and overnight in the clear care should take off the “oIl” I don’t use any harsh cleaner because I get it treated with Hydra PEG for more slickness and don’t want to risk taking that off. Are you in Vegas?

It took three months for the eye to heal before I could get the scleral lens, but they are so worth it!

Thanks for the info. Do you know if it's possible to use eye drops/artificial tears while wearing the lenses?

I’ve never really needed to use them, generally the fluid I put under the lens keeps my lens where it needs to be all day.

I'm sorry, you're gorgeous. Could you repeat all that? I was too busy gazing into your eyes. Seriously though, thanks for sharing. My right eye bugs me sometimes. I think I'm scratching it when I'm removing my lens, but I'm going to look for any cracks or chips now, too.

Have you ever fell asleep with your contacts on? I’m scared im going to forget about them and fall asleep, I don’t want nothing to happen to my eye

I have, in the morning I took them out and cleaned them and all was okay. It's not recommended, but doing it once it didn't hurt me, although it was harder to remove. I would recommend wet drops to help moisten your eye before removing.

Talk to your doctor and make sure that the prescription and fit is correct… works for me, although I have to get a new one, but can’t afford it at the moment myself

There must be a problem with the fit. they were much more comfortable and easier to get used to than, hard, soft or gas permeable!
