My neice has had a prosthetic eye for nearly 50 years now, she got it when she was 11. They have made vast improvements in that tech. This latest one, the painting is so real looking. She's not had any problems.
Blessings on you, Ken, and all Dan's family

Ken....mega thanks for the update on Timmy....thru prayer, our hearts have become entangled with him and his parents, and it means a lot to hear how he's doing. Re the ''rehoming'' of your faithful trailer....at 87y-o, l've passed thru similar thresholds into ''new norms'' Onward and upward !! Yay on the chessboard sale!! 🤠🎶

Before retiring I ran a fleet shop, and we'd need to remove lettering as we sold older vehicles. I used a combination of heat gun and the magic eraser. Also, working outside in the sun (with the heat gun) helped quite a bit. Based on my experience it would take me 3 hours a side to do your trailer. Problem is on the backside, where the OEM paint hasn't seen sun in 10+ years so there will always be a shadow of the lettering. My tool of choice was a 1 inch Hyde putty knife that I had sharpened then rounded the corners, so it didn't dig into the paint. It also kept my fingers away from the heat.... because keeping the tip of the knife hot seemed to keep things moving faster. Hold the putty knife at about a 15 degree angle and the heat gun at 45 degrees toward the work but close to the knife. I followed that with the eraser wheel and then brake parts cleaner to finish off. BTW, that wheel works with the heat that it generates, so moving methodically is better than a quick back and forth motion.

Selling the trailer! Too bad that the letters are coming off so slowly. That's great that Dan came over to help you do this. He can remove the high letters! I'm so glad that Timmy is doing so well! That's great that he is so comfortable with his prosthetic eye. Wow, taking the family to Boston for 3 days to get his hand painted eye. I hope it goes well. I like that grinding wheel that you tried. I think that's a better method than the heat guns and old credit cards. That's great that a viewer bought your chessboard. That's great that you're sending them a hoodie for free to wrap it in in your box from that third model RR engine. You're such a generous soul Ken. Thanks for this video Ken. It's nice to see Dan too! The chicks look happy!

Hi Ken, imagine if you built “tiny” house out of the trailer. NOT to be listed as airbnb but used similar to an airbnb. Does that make sense? Don’t ask me why that thought came to mind but it did. Seeing Dan made me laugh and cry. I continue to pray for him and his family. God bless you all.

Was great seeing Dan and getting an update on Timmy. Congratulations to the new owner of the Kustom Khessboard. Super nice of you to include the sweat shirt. It looks like the lettering on the trailer came with lifetime letters. I've installed them, but I don't think I'd ever want to remove them, especially after they've been 'baked-on' after several years of summers. I love the trailer. Seems like $3900 is the deal of the century. Thanks for the chicken peek. Pretty soon they'll be running down the ladder into the run.

I’m so thankful to hear that Timmy is being an active and curious little boy! That is the wonderful difference between children and adults, innocent and carefree, accepting differences without caring about the background story. Prayers continuing for his perfect health and for all the family , friends and medical team caring for Timmy. 🙏🙏🙏 As for the letters stuck on the trailer, if you can find lemon oil, I think it will work. It has to be the oil and not juice or flavoring. I use it to get labels off jars, adhesive just melts away. Another possibility is fingernail polish remover (acetone) but that might also take the paint off! Good luck with whatever you try! Congratulations on selling the chessboard, it’s beautiful!

Now for packaging every would love some Ken's man glitter in there package. to scape that lettering off try taking a razor blade round the corners off a bite so they won't scratch the paint a[ong with the heat gun [ the type you'd use to take paint off windows]

I won't lie, had a bit of a lump in my throat when you were stripping the trailer, so used to it, it all makes it seem somehow more real! ... Lovely to see Dan, and hear the progress little Timmy is making. My own personal opinion is that in some ways it's good that it's happened at such a young age, I think most kids would perhaps take the situation on board as just another learning curve in life and not be so freaked out as some adults might be. I hope things keep going well for him! ❤

Ken. I used to remove letters from those 1800 got junk trucks. They make plastic razor blades that look exactly like a metal razor blade. That and a heat gun. Or better yet a hot sunny day and those plastic razor blades. The key is getting very hot and not rushing it

Ken and Dan, my brother, lost his left eye when he was a baby in his carriage. He slipped and hit his head on a bolt. He now is 80 and is doing fine. The one time that sticks in my mind was when 3-d was the movie rage. Of course, you need both eyes to see it. But he adjusted just fine.

For Dan. I am a minister and I have looked into all sorts of what would be called 'life changing injuries'. Your boy will do just fine. I think you said he is still very young.
He might not even remember that he had binocular vision.

My brother lost his eye when he was 2 or 3-this was early 50’s. Anyway growing up he would take his artificial eye out and pop it into his mouth. I thought everyone’s brother could do that. Anyway he now is an Ocularist and makes artificial acrylic eyes as does his daughter.

Just a heads up. A brand new trailer that size and equipped is 8k or buy kens used one for $3,900.00. Personally a new is a better deal but it’s what people can afford.

3M tar and adhesive remover. Nothing safer I know of to remove common adhesive gunk without damaging automotive type paint. Wish I could have told you before you started.
