I been wiring 20 years and never had issue with solder here’s what you do solder wires together the right way stick them together inside one another and then try to pull them apart promise it will blow your mind how strong it is and do same with crimped wire connectors
Military hermetic connectors use solder but the vast majority of connections are crimped to combat vibration fatigue. How you crimp is more how reliable the crimp is. Most consumer grade crimpers don't do a great job.
Well done thank you for taking the time to run us through your installation and providing the links for the required parts.
Thanks for the tips!.....Where did you buy the relay and do you have a part number?
He reminds me of Jerry Mathers ('Leave it to Beaver').
I have people compare me to Matt Damon and a few others, this is a first :-)
I assume reason you used a relay is to better handle the current of the lighting circuit?
Correct. Probably not completely necessary if you protect with a fuse, but this tends to be the standard install method.
You could make more that just plug into cigarette lighter plug real handy for working at night
I would have to wire in a cigarette lighter to do that, which I guess wound't be the end of the world and I could use that for other things are well.
Matthew Eddy yup real easy to do 2 wires and a fuse I even put one on my engine drive compressor for lights or backup phone charger
You make more videos on this
OK will do! Thanks!
wire diagram please
Wire diagram is shown at 13:20
I will soldering before crimps they fall apart once you get them wires together vibrating is gonna mess with crimp before solder
I was told the opposite by a guy who wires up prototype military vehicles.

I won't claim to be an expert, I guess the guy who I talked to said the issue is with vibration and cracking of the solder joints.
