    The concept of deep learning that Elder Clark developed is a miracle for church education. Thank you, Elder Clark, for preparing yourself professionally and personally to be in a position to ask the right questions and to receive the inspired construct.

    After listening to and reading this talk by Dallin H. Oaks, I would like to add the following:
    1) In addition to the gospel of Jesus Christ, there are other important ways to prevent and treat anxiety including exercise, therapy, medication, good sleep hygiene, healthy diet, relaxation strategies, etc.
    You cannot just pray anxiety away. To not mention other ways to prevent and treat anxiety is irresponsible and dangerous.
    2) To our LGBT brothers and sisters: YOU ARE LOVED! Being LGBT is not "evil", "wicked," a cultural deterioration," "an evil influence," or a "phenomenon".

      Your the one who applied the sick culture of our current lives to the personal level of those afflicted with its effects. His wife in the previous talk said anything that created harsh feelings isn't from God. As I see it you are suffering from two problems 1 you don't believe in our prophets and disregard their teachings here and 2 think the social contagion of diverse sexual impulses is a personal choice, its not sexuality is a social contagion not a personal or lifestyle choice. It's the end result of every culture that goes in decline and yes our culture is in decline. Acting on these sexual impulses is not okay and if your looking for a church to say it's okay you better go to a different church.

      @@michaelbenjamin7448 yes the first presidency and 12 are all prophets and in the beginning of the talk he started specifically he was speaking as a prophet in relation to his appearance at this devotional.

      @@michaelbenjamin7448 he's an apostle I totally understand not believing in abstinence from same sex attraction but my church is fundamentally opposed to modernity and will never say it's okay to sexualize the anus of another man. If you believe otherwise you really need to find a different church.

    Think about this for a second. How is the world confused and why do we need a prophet? Think about the "MeToo" movement -people saying they don't want to be touched. Now think about those same groups of people saying they want to touch whoever they want. Which is it? Which do they want? It's rather hard to have both. One side screams boundaries, the other side screams no boundaries (lasciviousness). The prophet counsels us to have boundaries. Is it so confusing that way? Does it not make sense that if someone loves you they will go through the effort to sign a contract stating they will take care of you for life (or forever)? Doesn't it make sense that the other (no commitment) brings STD's, heartbreak, and unwanted consequences (teenage babies? Abortions?)? Now why not homosexual marriage then? You can. The law states it. But eternal progression comes from the nucleus family of father, mother, children. Eventually when you are old and gray and have chosen a relationship with no seed, you will be left with no one to care for you. (Not always the case, but more likely) It's just more logical that the path is straight to gain more blessings from heaven above. Should you choose to have a family and children despite sexual desires, you have chosen a path of service and sacrifice. In the end you end up with greater blessings from heaven above. God's love is everything. He has decreed the right way and in order to dwell fully in his love and light and to have inward peace forever, his way is a choice anyone can make. Follow your body or control your body? Which do you choose?

      Have you never heard of consent?

    • @millenialhymns
      @millenialhymns 5 років тому

      @@alyssahansen1400I would say mutual consent generally leads to one side saying they didn't give consent, many times leading to rape accusations, or eventual heartbreak without the commitment aspect. Sex for reasons of lust is not love. Commitment is a better show of love, wouldn't you agree? Who you procreate with is always a choice. And hopefully people have control over themselves enough to withhold themselves from each other until commitment or else we are in trouble as a people.. like the "MeToo" movement. Promiscuity never was happiness.

      I just asked if you knew what consent was. Because if you do, then it should be abundantly clear why supporting homosexual relationships is not the same as supporting rape.
