    Def Leppard was never the same again after Steve's passing. He was a master.

      I think it was Rick lost him arm. They changed after that.

      Steve was indeed a master, and a great artist that goes unrecognized. He was their best songwriter and their best guitarist. After him, it was all just flopping around.

    • @brentwhite9712
      @brentwhite9712 20 днів тому +2

      The changed because they wanted to change, they were never going to rigidly stick to one style forever. Their influences were varied, as were Steve’s, he loved a wide range of music and that was always going to show. They have evolved over the last 30 years in just the same way that they did over their first 10 years.

      Steve is my fave guitarist and leppatd are my fave band and I'd like to disagree with that statement yes it's sad steve died but they got an ace guitarist vivian campbell and some songs are ace but Steve's dedication to the band will never be forgotten

    I think my favorite part is the beginning with Steve playing with the cigarette in his hand and the smoke billowing up over the guitar. A legend in the making.

      I thought that's because he, all blond, rushing over the stage, was looking like a steam cloud. Or maybe "Steamin" rhymes with Steven.
      But this is really something. Legendary.

      Seems to reflect their apparent personalities well. They must have felt like kings of the world at that stage. Both cool in their own way and can back it up with their play, of course.

    • @brianjones8432
      @brianjones8432 7 років тому +29

      Definitely a reflection of personalities. Phil came from the glam scene, and it's directly reflected in how he moved and acted on stage. Steve was always channeling the Page kind of vibe. Much more subdued and subtle. One of the great things about Leppard was the dichotomy between the two. But of course, with fanboys it always comes down to some sort of competition rather than just admiring the two talents as being different and both great.

    • @avocate2017
      @avocate2017 7 років тому +25

      Steve and Phil had different styles and approaches, but both were beasts on stage. Def Leppard was blessed to have two guitarists who had awesome chemistry. They shined on their respective solos, but they were equally great when they were working as a duo and playing harmonizing parts.

  • @joefuentez7232
    @joefuentez7232 19 днів тому +2

    Steve Clark was something special. The way he added in those subtle nuances into his playing live was so awesome. It wasn’t enough to take away from the original content of the song but it was just enough to make you notice and be like what!!!! Why are all the young guitar genius’s so tormented.

    The Matching Black and White polka dots on Phil and Steve was in tribute to Randy Rhoads who passed away a year earlier and who did a tour with Leppards in 81'.A lot of people didnt catch that.

      Yes, they toured with Ozzy, and Randy Roads died not long after that tour. I've always thought that the matching black and white polka dots on Phil and Steve were a cool look on them and made them look different from the other NWOBHM and hard rock bands at the time.

    Steve and Phil were so close at this moment. Phil still a heavy drinker like Steve and they boozed all the time. Phil later stopped drinking and steve hated his best friend's decision. As time goes by Steve felt more and more isolated alone. This is one of the main contribution to steve's depression.

    After their first Japan tour, my friend and I wanted to share their passion with my all class mates, At the lunch time, suddenly we stood up front of them we tried to act Mr. Steve Clark and Mr. phil Collen, their guitar battle. After our class mates gave us big hands. All of us could spent happy time then, 1 week before until entrance exam to enter highschools.

    I was playing this, the song is called “Switch625” at the DJ studio of the shopping mall for Young girls every week in my original program, between one corner to another corner to cut lingering sound, and to change atmosphere.Full song was over I put a jingle restarted.We could feel this like a thunder or lightning in one building, on the floor, wonderful effect.I had taken part in that post from June of 2000 until the release week of the album “X”, and after very short term. For the people who were there, three hours or five hours program was really tiring, cause of that, the concept, constitution, plan or plot are starting to break down, right away. To avoid that, “Switch625 ” is helpful. This song give us, give to the people occasion of change or conversion.
